SPELLING Each night learn your spelling words, THEN… Have a parent test you and sign your notebook every night. READING Read a book fiction or non-fiction, magazine, dictionary, comic, cookbook etc and fill in your Reading log. If you don’t have a reader or library book remember it can be a FREE CHOICE book. Write a book review about either a book you have recently read or your favourite story. Remember to include its title, characters and blurb about what the book is about and why you have enjoyed reading it. NUMERACY Go on www.mathletics.co.nz each night for at least 10 minutes and fill in your Mathletics Log. (Ask your Maths teacher if you lose your username and/or password.) As extra, practise your groupings within either 100, 500 or 1000, e.g., 50 + 50, 25 + 75, 250 + 250, 240 + 760 TOPIC What Happened The Day You Were Born? Research as much as you can about what happened on the day you were born. Record the weight, location, weather, time and any other interesting events that may have happened in the world on either the day you were born or the year. Presentation Present your information as a Mini-Book. Your researched information should have a title, a contents page, mini headings for each section that you have researched and a cool photo or picture of yourself. Your information should be presented neatly so others may read it easily!
