The figures/table below indicates kv values of the unit.

kv (m3/h with Δp = 100 kPa = 1 bar)

*kvs values refer to the static balancing valve setted at 5.9 (pre-setting) and at 1.5 for the DPCVThe general equation for calculating pressure drop, knowing flow rate value is the following

Δp [bar] = (Q [m3/h] / kv)2

MountingExternal casing dismounting-mountingBefore installation the external casing must be removed as indicated in the image. The external casing is a unique piece placed on the carrying struc-ture: it is fixed by 2 screws on superior part and 2 screws on inferior part. After external casing removal and having placed it safely, it is possible to proceed with the hydraulic unit installation.

Wall mountingThe unit has to be installed indoors in suitable ambient conditions (see tech-nical specification on page 3).The installer has to individuate the most suitable wall according to weight and overall dimensions indicated on page 3.For fixing unit it is necessary to use no. 4 Ø 8 mm anchors (not included), they have to be suitable to the chosen wall for installation. The position has to be compliant with hydraulic connections. It is suggested to leave a free space of 10cm on left side for an easier access to the strainer

CAUTIONThe indicated kv are valid for water without glycol.

CAUTIONBefore installing the unit, the centralised and apartment systems must be cleansed and flushed to avoid fouling of the unit with impurities or debris from the pipe work installation procedures. The presence of impurities in pipes can be the reason for unsatisfactory working and can cause possible damages to unit components. Therefore it is very important to carefully flush pipes before installing.Connecting the unit to centralized distribution system with interception manual valves (included) is strongly recommended. Thanks to this the unit could be quickly and without particular user unease de-touched from centralized plant in case of special mainte-nance.Take care not to damage or break the connection seals. Pipe connec-tion torque must not exceed 50 Nm.

ActivationOnce the installation is completed and after checking that all electric and hydraulic connections have been correctly made, it is possible to activate the unit by moving the bipolar switch on electric box to ON position.

Display and keypad

CAUTIONBetween cable glands and electrical box, cables must be positioned in a way that avoids contact with copper pipes. Please use the specific cable glands supplied.

CAUTIONBefore carrying out electrical connections, please read general instructions at page 1.

WARNINGIsolate the unit from the electrical supply before removing the cover of the electrical box.

WARNINGTHIS APPLIANCE MUST BE GROUNDED.Ground wire connection must be secured against releasing. The elec-trical installation must only carried out by competent persons in accor-dance with the current edition of the IEE regulations.

The LED lights on the right side of the digital display indicate the actions of the hot water temperature control system.Red LED = Valve opening/open - the temperature of the hot water is required to be raisedGreen LED = Valve closing/closed - the temperature of the hot water is required to be reducedIn order to turn it off, press the “ON/OFF” button: if the equipment is still powered, the “OFF” sign will appear. When the unit is electrically powered, the installed soft-ware version is shown on the display for a few seconds.

Immediately after, if the equipment was off the last time it was powered (default condition at the time of purchase),the “OFF” message appears. In order to turn it on, press the “D”-ON/OFF button once.

The display shows the temperature detected by the sensor which is placed at the outlet of the domestic hot water delivered to the dwelling. When a hot water tap is opened, the unit will start automatically.

Programming for TechnicianAccess to programming menu. When digital display shows “OFF”, push simultaneously “A” and “B” buttons. When display shows “P1” release buttons. ”A and “B” buttons scroll main menu and increase or decrease value in under menu. “ENTER” button goes into sub menu and save data itself.

(*) Anti-burns function intervenes when the sensor, positioned on hot sanitary water delivery, feels a temperature superior to “set-point + P3 value”. In this condition the modulating 2-way valve, positioned on heat exchanger primary, is forced to complete closure and interrupts the erogation of thermal energy. When temperature goes down to “set-point + P3 value”, the system automat-ically starts normal production of sanitary hot water again.(**) When warmed heat exchanger function is activated (P5 =0) the primary circuit of the heat exchanger is constantly maintained in temperature (even in absence of sanitary drawing) thanks to the passage of a small quantity of hot water in primary circuit. This function can be activated when the unit is away from distribution columns to reduce the DHW production delay time.

Deactivation of unit functionsDuring summer time, in order to deactivate heating function you have to set the minimum temperature value on room thermostat or selecting “OFF” mode, if present. Regarding sanitary function, excluding all takings is suffi-cient and the module will automatically stop any energy inflow from central-ized plant (if the warmed heat exchanger is deactivated). Besides, pressing “ON/OFF” button on keypad is possible to deactivate hydraulic unit functions. On display you find “OFF” and all functions are deactivated:both motorized valves are on complete closing

Unit electrical disconnectionTo disconnect the unit from electrical network follow these instructions:1. Electrically disconnect ambient thermostat2. Press “ON/OFF” button on keypad3. Wait for about 30 sec. in order to give time to motorized valves to close.4. Check that the motorized valves are in closed position by checking di-

rectional arrow position5. Move the bi-polar switch on electrical box to OFF position

Control and regulationsDHW temperatureWhen the unit is activated and the display shows the temperature detected by the probe, it is possible to adjust the set supply temperature of the hot sanitary water. Use the buttons on the keypad:

Main menu Under menu FunctionP1 X.X (sec) Where „X.X“ indicates time of sampling

temperature.Regulation range 1.0 ³ 10.0 sec(default 1.0 sec) for 24 plates heat exchanger and 1.3 sec for 40 plates heat exchanger

P2 X (sec) Where „X“ indicates delay time ordered to activation of sanitary hot water production by flow meter signal (eco function)Regulation range: 0 ³ 5 sec.(default 0 sec)

P3 XX (°C) Where „XX“ indicates the Δ temperature to be added to the setpoint to obtain the maximum permitted temperature beyond which the sanitary valve closes. Anti-burns function*.Regulation range 5 ³ 50°C(default 5°C)

P4 XX (sec) Where „XX“ indicates delay time ordered to anti burns function intervention.Regulation range 0 30 sec(default 0 sec)

P5 X Where „X“ is a Boolean variable that can be:0 = warmed heat exchanger function acti-vated **1 = warmed heat exchanger function deacti-vated(default 1)

CAUTIONThe anti-burns function helps to avoid supply of hot sanitary water with dangerous temperatures. Installing devices for thermal safety for sanitary uses to be placed below the unit is advised. If the hot sanitary water temperature sensor is damaged or not connected the display shows the allarm “ALt”. The modulating valve of the plated exchanger primary circuit is forced to closing; the flashing "AL t" is displayed. When the damage is restored the unit start again with its normal functioning.

WARNINGElectrical power coming from ambient thermostat is NOT inter-rupted by bi-polar switch. In order to complete disconnect the hydraulic unit form electrical power interrupt ambient thermo-stat power.

CAUTIONA disconnection from electric network made without operating as described above does not grant the complete hydraulic isolation of the module from the whole plant. As a consequence the module could still take and regulate heat even though not requested.

Press the “A” button to decrease the temperature value. Press the “B” button to increase the temperature value. The display will show a value ranging from 0 to 10. 0 corresponds to approximately 40°C, 10 corre-sponds to approximately 60°C. Then, press “ENTER” to accept the value.

BalancingThe unit is equipped with a static balancing valve. In addition can be added the diaphragm for differential pressure balancing (not included with HIU).A probe is already installed on pipe "f" to facilitate the installation.See in picture below the suggest installation.

MeteringThe unit can be equipped with energy and water meters. Stub pieces are arranged on the unit to facilitate the installation:• remove the stub piece• install the meter (max torque 50Nm)

- original sealings installed with stub pieces must be replaced- When installing display of ultrasonic heatmeter take care to use not too

long screws to avoid touching the pipe under• connect temperature sensors in the pre-arranged probesHeatmeter 1 will measure the total energy consumtpion both for heating and domestic hot water production.Heatmeter 2 will measure the energy consumption of apartment heating only.Energy consumption only for domestic hot water production can be measured as difference between heatmeter 1 and heatmeter 2.

Backflow preventerAs required by regulations insert a backflow preventer on the domestic cold water inlet.Backflow preventer is not included with the unit.

CAUTIONSharp edges could cause injury. The Heat meter should be installed before the impulse copper tube of diaphragm unit for dynamic balancing. Don't bend the tube to the sharp angles - it may cause breaks. Before installation of any meter take out the old washer, clean the sealing surface and use new washer (not included).
