(See detour map on right.) • Least potential to impact surrounding properties. • Would fulfill the original function of the crossing when it was installed with original roadway (provide access from Method Road community to Oak Grove Cemetery). • Would not fulfill local plans. City of Raleigh and NC State University plans include improved connectivity (car, bus, pedestrian, and bicycle) along Ligon Street. ONE-LANE TRAFFIC CULVERT Screening Results • Requires a temporary detour during construction - approximately 1 year duration, 1.6 miles long. (See detour map above.) • Potential impacts to NC State University research buildings and homes east of I-440. • Substantialy higher costs than the One-Lane Traffic Culvert alternative. Would require cost-sharing with City of Raleigh and/or NC State University. • Would fulfill the original function of the crossing when it was installed with original roadway (provide access from Method Road community to Oak Grove Cemetery). • Would fulfill local plans.
