I would like to go to Jersey Jersey is the largest of the Channel Islands. It is located about 160 kilometers south of mainland Britain I would like to go to Jersey because of… The weather! The climate in Jersey is mild and the average temperature in July and August is 17 degrees. The sun shines about 5-6 hours per day in the summer, and I think that’s perfect. In Jersey, it’s not too hot, not too cold – it’s just perfect for me! There are many nice beaches in Jersey, so I would like to spend a few days getting a tan and swimming in the ocean. I would also like to visit Jersey because of… The history there! People have lived on the island for a long time and there are several prehistoric sites that you can visit. Then, the Romans were there, the Saxons, the Vikings, the Normans and the English. The people of Jersey have also been involved in many wars throughout the years. I’m interested in history, so I would enjoy learning more and visiting some of the historic sites there. One of the prehistoric sites I would see is La Hougue Bie, which is a 6000-year-old passage grave. Other historic places to visit is Elizabeth Castle, which was built to defend Jersey, and the Jersey War Tunnels. The War Tunnels is a permanent reminder of the German Occupation of Jersey, which lasted almost five years until the island's liberation on 9th May 1945. In the tunnels, you can learn about the history of the Occupation in many different ways. Another thing I like to do when I travel is to eat. There’s lots of seafood in Jersey and I’m sure I would try some delicious desserts as well – chocolate cakes e.g. I love flowers and beautiful gardens, so I would definitely visit some of the gardens in Jersey. I would like to go to Jersey

Jersey is the largest of the Channel Islands. It is located about 160 kilometers south of mainland Britain

I would like to go to Jersey because of…

The weather!

I would also like to visit Jersey because of…

The history there!

Here is a picture of Reg’s Garden. I like strolling around gardens because the atmosphere is always very serene and it’s like experiencing art live.

No vacation is complete without at least a little bit of shopping. St Helier is the capital of Jersey and there are many shops there. One thing I always try to buy, when I’m on vacation, is a Christmas ornament. Then, when I decorate my Christmas tree in December, I remember all the wonderful trips I’ve been on.

So, I would like to go to Jersey because of the weather, the history, the food, the gardens and the shopping. Above all though, I would go there to relax and just take it easy.
