Developing State Level Resource persons to spearhead the BBBP programme in the State

A two-day Master Trainers Workshop was organized at Jaipur on 11-12 June 2015 in collaboration with NIPCCD, New

Delhi. Workshop facilitated the convergence of the various departments involved in the roll out of BBBP scheme.

State level orientation for Zila Pramukh and NGO representatives on 06.10.2015

A workshop at HCMRIPA, Jaipur was organized with the civil society representatives and the Zila Pramukhs for

sensitizing them and also garnering their support to enhance the value of the girl child.

� Inclusion of BBBP scheme as a mandatory agenda in Gram Sabhas by Department of

Panchayati Raj and Rural Development, GOR.

� An animation series is being developed on various topics under BBBP scheme in partnership

with UNFPA.

Observing National Girl Child Day- Release of Pocket booklet of schemes related to Women and Girls

Inauguration of Rashtriya Balika Diwas by Hon’ble Minister Smt. Anita Bhadel A pocket booklet was released on various schemes related to Women and Girls

with BBBP logo printed balloons

A pocket booklet bringing together the schemes of various departments related to development, protection and

empowerment of girls and women was released.

Budget Announcement 2016-17

In order create a positive and enabling environment for the girl child the State

Government has made budget announcement of two schemes – “Mukhya Mantri

Rajshree Yojana” (cash incentive at various mile stones of a girl till she completes

class XII) and “Garima Balika Sanrakshan Avum Samman Yojana”(cash award for

outstanding work related to protection of girls )

� Eighth Vow (Aathva Phera) during the wedding ceremony vowing to refrain from sex-

selection, in Sri Ganganagar and Bharatpur Districts.

Beti Janmotsava is celebrated on a designated day. A mass oath taking ceremony was held at

Jhunjhunu during ‘Beti Janmotsav’ Program on 29th January, 2016. The program was attended

by around 4500 persons, wherein 1247 parents of new born girls in the district were honored.

Sri Ganganagar: Aathwa Phera and Oath Ceremony in Samuhik Vivah: 1st

November 2015

Under BBBP Scheme, Sri Ganganagar and Bharatpur districts have introduced the eighth vow for the

couples during the wedding ceremony so that they refrain from sex selection.

� On the birth of girl child activities like – Thali Bajana, dhol bajana, Dhundh pujan for

girl child have been initiated in the district through Mahila Sabha, Nari ki Chaupal, activities at

school etc.

� Ms. Sapna, an athlete is been announced as the brand ambassador under the BBBP scheme in

Jhunjhunu District
