Founded in 1883, the city of Rexburg rests on a hill just 30 miles north of Idaho Falls. Rexburg is best know for its college, Brigham Young University - Idaho. In the early 90’s the population was under 15,000. Today the population has nearly doubled and is just under 30,000, making it one of the fastest growing cities in Idaho. Rexburg has much to offer its residents and students as it is considered the gateway to many famous destinations such as Yellowstone National Park, The Grand Tetons and Mesa Falls, all within a 100 mile radius of each other.

A few miles north of the city one can find themself surrounded by a forest of green pine trees and beautiful mountains. A vast landscape of beauty surrounds the area and it would be an absolute shame to miss. Each season offers a unique and beautiful perspective to its viewers. The Grand Tetons (pictured on the left) are just an hour and forty minute drive from Rexburg. These majestic 14,000 ft mountains are a sight not to be missed. They are unlike any other mountain range in the nation. Yellowstone National Park is a breathtaking sight and just an hour and thirty minute drive north of Rexburg. The Grand Canyon of Yellowstone (bottom, middle) is said to be one of the finest sights to see in the northwest. The 19th century painter Thomas Moran said, “its beautiful tints were beyond the reach of human art. “

TEMPLES

Idaho Falls Temple

The Temple for many of the locals is a sacred place for prayer and meditation, a place where they can rest from their worries and day to day activities. The Rexburg Temple opened it’s doors in 2008.

Another Temple is not too far away in Idaho Falls. It sits along the city’s riverbank. It is much older as it was opened in 1945. Both temples are miraculous sights to see, epically at sunset.
