    ice cream dispensing concept addresses this situation.

    It is the combination of the Smart container and lowtemperature technology that ensures the simplicity of theOne-Shot concept.

    Each individual container is pre-packed at the dairy withsoft ice cream using low temperature technology andthen deep-frozen until required. With this new technologythe ice cream can be dispensed at temperatures as cold as22c and with the Smart container the integrity of theproduct is guaranteed.

    It is generally accepted that most soft serve machinesare expensive sophisitcated pieces of equipment, builtto high engineering standards that with expert careand attention, will give many years of life.

    However, the associated problems experienced withconventional soft serve machines are due to theinability of personnel to strip down, clean and sanitise,lubricate and reassemble the machine effectively on aregular basis.

    All this can lead to high service costs and spare partreplacement, not to mention the liquid ice cream mixremaining in the machine that becomes expensivewaste during the cleaning process.

    The key to the single portion concept is the Smart container, eachindividual container is pre-packed at the dairy with soft ice cream anddelivered frozen to the store, ensuring total product integrity.

    As the ice cream can be dispensed at 22C most standard freezerscan be used for storage, this reduces capital investment and allows thedispenser to be installed anywhere.

    When you have made your flavour choice from the freezer, the protectivelabel is removed from the base of the Smart container exposing the starshaped extrusion hole. The Smart container is then inserted into thedispenser where an automatic plunger applies pressure to the lid of thecontainer, which is designed to turn inside out, forcing the ice creamthrough the extrusion hole.

    At no point during dispensing does the dispensing plunger come intocontact with the ice cream, allowing continuous dispensing with endlessflavour choice.

    SMART containers

    The One-Shot SMART containers consist of a cupbase, with removable protective tab, and a lid, allmanufactured from PE plastic. The whole assemblyis fully recyclable.

    The normal ice cream volume filled on the fillingmachine is 165ml. Most filling machines are able tofill these containers. However, a sample containershould be sent to your filling machine manufacturerfor confirmation.

    You can fill the SMART containers with ice cream or anyother frozen dessert. The product can have inclusionssuch as fruits, nuts, chocolate pieces and cookie pieces.

    One-Shot can recommend manufacturers of fillingmachines should you need to purchase one.Upgrading of existing filling machines may beoffered depending upon the model.

    SMART containers with different dimensions can beproduced for those companies looking to have onlytheir product dispensed through their dispensers.

    In 2008, the invention of MagicDust low temperaturetechnology allowed One-Shot concepts to enter a newage for ice cream dispensing and frozen beverageblending.

    Traditionally it had been necessary to use a specialtempering cabinet to warm the ice cream to asuitable dispensing temperature before serving.However, using MagicDust, ice cream can now bedispensed at temperatures as low as -22 Centigrade(-8 Fahrenheit), straight from the freezer.

    This greatly reduces capital investment, allows thedispenser to be installed anywhere and for endlessnumbers of portions to be sold easily and efficiently.

    It is important to understand that the One-Shotextrusions technology is different from that used forproducing traditional hard or soft serve ice cream. Thefinal product may look and taste the same or similarbut the formulation is very different.
