y 12th edition the first in the history of ICFC, aprovincial university won the annual competition- University of the Philippines, Iloilo.

Team Composition(Eliminations)
y Minimum of three (3) and maximum of five (5)members
y Enrolled as a regular student (at least 12 units)
y Participants in any prior ICFC competition aredisqualified to compete
y During the competition 3 are onstage, while 2serve as alternates
y Substitutions could only be done in betweenrounds
y Contestants should bring their School IDs

y All members should have represented the schoolin the Eliminations
y There will be no substitutions allowed in theFinals except to fill in and complete the team

Competition Procedurey The Quizmaster will draw a number from the fish bowl.
y The corresponding numbered envelope with the question will be distributedto each team.
y Upon signal by the Quizmaster, the teams shall simultaneously open theirenvelopes.
y
The Quizmaster will then read the first portion of the question once beforethe teams are given the go-signal to commence solving the question.
y At the end of the time limit, all teams (all venues) will be asked to hold uptheir Answer Cards at the same time.
y The Chairman of the Board of Judges or his duly appointed representativewill then give the right answer to the Quizmaster by raising the correctAnswer Card.
y After all the cards are raised and the correct answer given by the Judges,the Quiz Master will ask those with wrong answers to put down their cardsto make it easier for the auditors to mark and tally the scores of theteam(s) with correct answers.
y NOBODY WILL BE ALLOWED TO RAISE HIS OR HER CARDS ANEW ONCETHEY HAVE BEEN PUT DOWN.

Protests and Queries
y Protests and queries must be filed by any of the teammembers actively participating in the round to the attention ofor addressed to the Chairman of the Board of Judges of theconcerned site immediately prior to the next question
y Teachers, coaches, school officials, and other team membersnot currently participating in the specific round are all barredfrom raising questions.
y The decision of the Board of Judges is final and allparticipating teams must abide by its decision
y The Board of Judges has the prerogative to penalize anyunacceptable behavior of the contestants via point deductions.

Qualifying for the Finals
y Twenty (20) local schools will qualify for the finals
y Schools will be divided into groups. There will be a minimumof 5 groups representing Metro Manila, Luzon, and the 3regional sites.
y The top team from each group will automatically qualify
y In case there is a tie for the first place in a group, the tie willbe immediately resolved
y After the cast of topnotchers have been determined, allremaining schools will be ranked according to their total scores
y The remaining top scoring schools will qualify until a roster of20 finalists is completed.
y All tiebreakers are resolved using the Sudden Death format
y The 20 local finalists will be joined by invited internationalschools in the Finals.
