Letter from the presidentWelcome to the greatest summer beer festival in Minnesota! Summer is a great time of the year and I have many fond memories of heading North to Duluth to enjoy everything the area has to offer. I think this is one of the reasons All Pints North has become one of my favorite events of the year.

Duluth has been on the leading edge of the craft beer movement in the State of Minnesota and continues to push forward. Combine this energy with a spectacular location, we have a world class event for you to enjoy. I want to thank the City of Duluth, the participating breweries, the event organizers and you for attending this great event.

Serving size is 2oz. - Please do not ask brewers to serve you a full glass.

Do not ask for purchased pint glasses to be filled! The glasses will be confiscated.

Drink plenty of water & balance the beer with food from our great local food vendors.

No smoking.

Once you get your beer, move aside to chat with the brewers.

An ATM is located near ticketing.

If your glass breaks go to the ticketing area for a plastic replacement. Do not pick up the broken glass - a volunteer will assist you!

3:00 pm -TIN CAN GINFast-paced upbeat Bluegrass music from the North, Tin Can Gin is sure to get your blood pumping and your feet stompin’ with their blend of traditional bluegrass, new-age folk, and alternative rock with a North Shore flavor. Tin Can Gin was born and brewed upon the shores of Lake Superior near Duluth by childhood pals Harrison Olk and Trevor Marrin. Along with mandolinist Bryan Nelson, the trio created the trademark TCG tunes that are fan favorites to this very day. In the autumn of 2011 the group was summoned to the stage at their first gig as “Tin Can Gin”. As time passed the band added fiddle virtuoso Nori Perrine and the clever, nimble fingered Mark Glen on stand-up bass to round out the Tin Can Gin sound.

4:00 pm - SLEEP STUDYAssembled in 2011, Minneapolis rock quartet Sleep Study has lived up to high expectations set by their dedicated followers and the media. “Coupled with strong chemistry within the band and an updated ’70s aesthetic as heard on their first single ‘Flower Girl,’ the group has been making waves since their formation last summer.” (NPR – 89.3 The Current). The band has tackled the near impossible task of being relevant while nodding to heroes of rock’s past.The band’s formula is a natural cooperative of strengths from all members, combining Ryan Paul Plewacki’s (vocals/guitar) brand of Brit flavored rock with Justin Hartke’s (vocals/bass) Seattle upbringing and Jack Ventimiglia’s (guitar/vocals) psychedelic background. The calculated drumming of Woody Stulberg solidifies their retro sound.

5:30 pm - JOEY RYAN & THE INKSFor ordinary guys, Joey Ryan & The Inks have a habit of making extraordinary music. Over the past five years, Joey Ryan, brothers Matt and Chris Mitchell, Ryan Mach, and Tim Dickson have solidified their place on local airwaves and stages and as the go-to band for catchy pop tunes with 60s sunshine beats, with slivers of doo-wop on top of smart instrumental progression, topped by Ryan’s crystal-clear, bittersweet vocals.

Beyond sampling craft beer at this festival, we put together a group of organizations that focus on various aspects of the craft beer experience and are here to teach you about what it is they do. Take a tour through the ins and outs of outdoor cooking with beer from marinating to building the best sauce. We might even sample some savory smoked treats. Chef TBD.

Backwoods Brews 4:10 - 4:40p Jake Boyce (Day Tripper of Duluth)Last month Duluth was named as Outside Magazine’s best outdoor city in America. Outdoor activity is central to the Duluth lifestyle. This session pays homage to that by exploring the potential and practicalities of enjoying beer in the backcountry. What’s allowed? What type of beer is best? Can beer be part of your campfire cooking? Come find out from adventure guide Jake Boyce and share your own stories about enjoying beer in the backcountry.

Homebrewing Berliner Weisse 4:50 - 5:20p Jeff Merriman (Northern Brewer/Certified Cicerone®) & Jace Marti (August Schell Brewing Co.) One of the growing trends in American craft beer is the revival of nearly-extinct beer styles. Gose, Grätzer, Sahti, and Berliner Weisse have all seen a resurgence in the last few years. With a little bit of know-how you can make great versions of these beers at home. Jace Marti from August Schell Brewing Company shares the insights gained from creating the Noble Star series of Berliner Weisse style beers. Northern Brewer manager Jeff Merriman brings it home with the practical knowledge for backyard brewers.

Terroir of Twin Ports 5:30 – 6:00p Emily Vikre (Vikre Distillery), Colin Mullen (Bent Paddle), Heiko Edwardson (Red Herring)Alongside craft beer, craft distilling is booming. And the two have turned out to be terrific partners with artisanal spiritmakers and small brewers teaming up in the production process. The popularity of beer cocktails shows that the final products work pretty well together, too. Find out how Bent Paddle Brewing and Vikre Distillery are partnering right here in Duluth and learn how to whip up a tasty treat from Red Herring cocktail whiz Heiko Edwardson.

The Alliance for Beer Education (ABE) is a joint project of A Perfect Pint and the Better Beer Society dedicated to providing the highest-quality educational programing at Minnesota’s beer festivals. Collaborators Rob Shellman and Michael Agnew, both Certified Cicerones®, have a combined 11 years’ experience as beer educators. BEER TASTING BASICSALL PINTS NORTH is an opportunity to sample more than 200 different craft beers from great brewers both local and not-so-local. Make the most of it by taking the time to savor the flavor. With every beer you taste, follow this simple three step process: smell, see, sample.

smell – Don’t be shy. Stick your nose deep in the glass and take a big whiff. Breathe in the bright earth, spice and citrus of the hops. Let the cereal smells of malted grains overtake your senses. Yeast also brings smells: fruit, spice, sulfur, sour and funk.

see – Hold your glass up to the light. Take note of each beer’s jewel-like color and pristine clarity (or the stylistic lack thereof). Brewers take great pains to raise that frothy head. Give them back a moment of your time to admire its texture, color and duration.

sample – Finally, you taste the beer. The sensation is so much sweeter for having in-dulged in the first two steps. Let the sample sit a moment on your tongue. Is it a malty beer or do the hops hold sway? Perhaps it’s yeast that takes the day. And is that a subtle hint of spice that lurks in the background?

In the heart of the Northeast Minneapolis Arts and Brewery District, 612Brew calls Central and Broadway home. 612Brew produces small-batch beers to satisfy both the weekend beer drinker and the craft beer drinker with a discerning palate. Enjoy the local brewing culture while sipping a pint in our taproom, then look upon our mirror-polished tanks or sit in the courtyard amphitheater and rain garden. Come on, Minnesota. • Rye IPA Firkin on Sour Patch Kids Our flagship Rye IPA which name shall not be spoken, cask conditioned on Sour Patch Kids candy. This beer is aggressively hopped, sweetness from the caramel malts and spicy notes from the rye. We chose Sour Patch Kids for this beer because, I mean, Sour Patch Kids, right?

ABV: 6.9 IBU: 80 Cask

• Mary Ann A German-style lager brewed with generous amounts of freshly grated ginger. Refreshing and spicy. Deli-cious and bold. A perfect companion for getting stranded on your own personal island, because you can’t have Mary Ann without ginger.

ABV: 4.5 IBU: 29 Draft

• Zero HourOur Taproom Only Black Ale is dry hopped with Simcoe and blacked out with Midnight Wheat. You may won-der what style of beer you’re drinking; well, close your eyes and savor the experience. But don’t walk around with your eyes closed. People will give you funny looks.


• Gateway Park Gateway Park is a pre-prohibition lager brewed with in-gredients commonly used in this same style beer over a hundred years ago; six-row barley, corn and Cluster hops. This beer pays homage to the Gateway District or as it was known back then, Bridge Square, in Min-neapolis. Perfectly refreshing for a beautiful summer day like this. Words words words, are you still reading this?


• GLAM IPA Exclusive release for All Pints North. GLAM IPA is a summer session IPA brewed with Galaxy and Amarillo and dry hopped with Equinox for an aroma of floral, citrus, and tropical fruit. Backed by Maris Otter and Golden Naked oats, the ABV is lowered but the flavor is still exceptional. Try it before anyone else in Min-nesota.

August Schell Brewing Company [BOOTH # 5/64]

Located on the lush, wooded, hillside banks of the Cottonwood River in New Ulm, Minnesota, the August Schell Brewing Company has been quietly crafting a family of fine specialty beers since 1860. Specializes in traditional German style lagers and ales, Schell’s has been family owned and operated for six generations and is the second oldest, family owned brewery in the United States.

• Arminius A brand new beer from Schell’s and a departure from our traditionally brewed lagers. This golden lager is heavily hopped and double dry hopped with a unique combination of fruity and floral hops that compliment the use of a lager yeast. A simple malt bill of Pilsner and Munich combine with the crisp, smoothness of a lager to showcase the hop character in this beer.


• 2014 HefeweizenPart of our 30th Anniversary Hefeweizen series, this is our current Hefeweizen recipe. This unfiltered, south-German style Hefeweizen is hazy yellow in color, highly effervescent with bright aromas and spicy clove, ba-nana and nutmeg and a refreshingly fruity flavor.


• Dampf Bier Part of our 30th Anniversary Hefeweizen series, this is an experimental take on a historical style. This all barley beer is filtered, deep amber in color, and was brewed with a Hefeweizen yeast for a unique combina-tion of flavors and aroma.


• 1984 Weiss Beer This is the original Kristal Weizen recipe that was first brewed in 1984, and was the first wheat beer brewed in America since prohibition. To make this beer we had to import an authentic Bavarian wheat beer yeast with the help of Briess Malting who also custom malted wheat malt just for us. Light, dry and refreshing with a distinctive citric tartness and an aroma of banana and clove.

• Weizen Bock Part of our 30th Anniversary Hefeweizen series, this is an experimental take on a Weizen Bock. A higher strength version of a Bavarian Hefeweizen, this beer was aggres-sively hopped in the kettle and dry hopped for a twist on an old world classic. Single hopped with French Triskels for a fruity, citrusy, and floral hop aroma and a uniquely hoppy wheat beer experience.


• North Country BrünetteOur interpretation of a Märzen-style Berliner Weisse. This beer is slightly stronger, and maltier take on a traditional Berliner Weisse beer. This beer was brewed with a decoc-tion mash, and fermented with an ale yeast, lactobacillus, and Brettanomyces. This beer was aged for nearly a year in one of our original, 1936 cypress wood lagering tanks, before being hand bottled and bottle conditioned.

Founded by Larry Bell as a home brewing supply shop in 1983, Bell’s Brewery, Inc. sold its first commercial beer in September 1985. Beer was initially brewed in a 15-gallon soup kettle and the company has grown remarkably from its production of 135 barrels (1 barrel = 31 gallons) in 1986 to over 248,000 barrels in 2013. Originally self-distributed, Larry and his staff of 9 employees bottled and delivered all of the beer to market for the company’s first four years. In 1993, Bell’s became the first Michigan brewery to open an onsite pub. . .

• Mercurial Belgian Style Ale Mercurial Belgian-Style Ale shares some aromatic qualities with Winter White Ale but the absence of wheat along with lower fermentation temperatures and a more restrained yeast profile set this beer apart. Brau Brothers Brewing Company [BOOTH # 2/18]

It’s Official, Brau Brothers Brewing Co. has undergone a major expansion and moved the Brewery twenty plus miles up the road to population 13,680, Marshall Minnesota. Brau Brothers has been brewing commercially in the tiny town of Lucan Minnesota, population 220, for the past thirteen years and has outpaced the city resources in past years. Earlier this month they moved to a 37,000 square foot brewing space in Marshall which allowed Brau to add six more tanks, expanded packaging operation, additional barrel aging capacity and in short, they are now able to brew more beer! The site also features Marshall’s very first tap room!

• Hopsession Super Pale Ale Hopsession is intentionally designed to offer up all the flavor and aroma of all the best IPA’s and IIPA’s without the alcohol content. Loads of late-addition hops pro-vide a terrific blend of citrus, pineapple, grassy pine, with a hint of mango in the nose. The yeast is specifi-cally chosen to accentuate the hops, while leaving just a bit of residual sweetness.


• Paradox Black IPA Simcoe & amarillo highlight this dark beer, brewed exclusively with second running’s from an Imperial Alt in the Parti-Gyle tradition. Parti-Gyle brewing is a throw-back brewing method that serves to maximize efficiency by using a single grain bed to brew more

than one beer. High-gravity wort is collected from early running’s, and used to make a big beer. Then later run-nings are used to make a weaker beer. At Brau Broth-ers we used first runnings to create an Imperial Alt, clocking in at 8.5% ABV. Then, dark malt is added for a color adjustment and the remaining wort is collected for a Black Ipa at a modest 5.5% ABV.


• Bancreagie Peated Scotch AleUnderneath Southwest Minnesota sits a large, ancient granite aquifer which delivers classic brewing water for a malty ale. At Brau Bros, we fill in the remaining ingredients to brew Bancreagie Peated Scotch Ale. Named for the light-colored rock itself, Bancreagie relies on a complex and deep malt bill, featuring au-thentic peat-smoked malt. A traditional Scottish yeast is pitched and ferments a sweet, smoky and malty ale.

Brooklyn Brewery [BOOTH # 3/34]

In 1984, AP correspondent Steve Hindy returned from a six-year stint in the Middle East and settled in Brooklyn’s Park Slope neighborhood. Hindy had caught the homebrewing bug and with his partner Tom Potter founded Brooklyn Brewery. In 1994, they hired the highly respected New York brewmaster, Garrett Oliver whos beers have won many national and international awards, and his book, The Brewmaster’s Table, has become a favorite among beer connoisseurs and food enthusiasts alike. Today, The Brewery is finishing a major expansion that will allow the company to double its overall production and do it right here in Brooklyn. At last count, Brooklyn beers can be enjoyed in 25 states and 20 countries.

• Sorachi Ace The unique flavor of Sorachi Ace was bypassed by the big brewers, but we thought it was pretty cool. So we made a special beer with it, and added the beer to our Brewmaster’s Reserve special draft beer program last year. Most Brewmaster’s Reserve beers are only available for a short time, and then they’re gone. But we liked this one so much, we decided to bring it back and give it the star treatment. Brooklyn Sorachi Ace is a classic saison, a cracklingly dry, hoppy unfil-tered golden farmhouse ale, but made entirely with now-rare Sorachi Ace hops grown by a single farm in Washington. We ferment it with our special Belgian ale strain, and then add more Sorachi Ace hops post-fermentation. After the dry-hopping, the beer emerges with a bright spicy lemongrass / lemon zest aroma backed by a wonderfully clean malt flavor.


• Lager In the late 1800’s Brooklyn was one of the largest brewing centers in the country, home to more than 45 breweries. Lager beer in the “Vienna” style was one of the local favorites. Brooklyn Lager is amber-gold in color and displays a firm malt center supported by a refreshing bitterness and floral hop aroma. Caramel malts show in the finish. The aromatic qualities of the beer are enhanced by “dry-hopping”, the centuries-old practice of steeping the beer with fresh hops as it undergoes a long, cold maturation. The result is a wonderfully flavorful beer, smooth, refreshing and very versatile with food. Dry-hopping is largely a Brit-ish technique, which we’ve used in a Viennese-style beer to create an American original.

You’ll notice the balance of sweet maltiness and soft fruit, but its gentle caramel notes will really stand out. You know what else really stands out? That Nut Hatch that we just saw sitting on a hatchet outside the window.


• Stoned Surf IPAWith a big grapefruit bouquet as intense but not quite as fickle as Lake Superior herself, this smooth and spicy brew will take you on a ride. Stoned Surf is a medium-bodied IPA with a frisky hop aroma to balance its complex malt backbone. Speaking of backbone, this ‘Merican Pale Ale is intended for those with just that. It has a characteristically medium light body with a somewhat soft velvety dry finish. It shows a light malt character and a slight tartness that keeps it quenching and refreshing


• OLD AVALANCHE Barley WineWe’ve all heard the legend, a man was stuck in an avalanche until he had an idea. Crack a beer, drink it, pee, escape. True or not, it seems pretty genius to us. This deep copper and garnet ale keeps the fire in your belly warm while you inhale the toffee, bread and dried fruit notes. Aged several months, it’s velvety, lus-cious and smooth. Fargo Brewing Company was founded in 2010 two brothers, Chris Anderson and John Anderson, and two high school friends, Jared Hardy and Aaron Hill. Fargo Brewing currently distributes products throughout North Dakota and several portions of Minnesota.

• Wood Chipper IPA Wood Chipper IPA is a classic American style IPA show-casing bold hop flavor and aroma. The beer pours a burnt orange color, topped with a thick white head. The first impression is the blast of citrus and pine aroma due to more than two pounds per barrel of dry hopping. A hop assault ensues, bringing waves of grapefruit and sticky pine resin notes. As it warms it opens to let dark dried fruit and molasses notes show through. Full bodied and slightly sweet, the flavor mir-rors the aroma and is rich with chocolate and vanilla. During the course of a year we brew about 20 differ-ent pale ale recipes, but they all flow from the source, STARFIRE.


• Big Boat Oatmeal Stout This ale is large in body and pours a beautiful pitch black in the glass. Flat Earth Brewing Company is dedicated to our Saint Paul roots and very proud to be one of Saint Paul’s original Craft breweries. Over the last year we have been in the process of renovating several buildings at the historic Hamm’s brewery on the East side of Saint Paul, although we are not finished, this site is the new home of our brewery. As we progress with the remolding of these 100 year old buildings, we are very excited with what the future holds for us and Saint Paul.

Fulton Brewing Company started as a homebrew club between 4 friends in a small garage in Southwest Minneapolis. In the fall of 2009, we found a contract brewery and began selling our beer in the Twin Cities. In the fall of 2010, we signed the lease for our Minneapolis brewery, and we brewed our first batch just about a year later. In March 2012, we opened the first brewery taproom in the Twin Cities. In a few short years, we were out of room, and are currently building a second, larger production brewery in NE Minneapolis, which will be up and running by fall 2014. None of us imagined 18 hour days, caustic burns, tiny office spaces, and massive loans. But this much is certain: we get to wake up every day and work on our passion.

• Sweet Child of Vine Move over grapes. We’re celebrating the world’s most glorious vine. Generous quantities of CTZ and Glacier hops are added throughout the boil. Then, late in fer-mentation, we infuse the Sweet Child with another dose of Glaciers, imparting a bouquet of hop aroma that veritably bursts forth upon serving. But don’t let all this talk of hops mislead you. The Sweet Child has a serious malt backbone to stand up to all those hops, creating a delightful balance that will keep you coming back for more. It’s an IPA, Fulton-style.


• Lonely Blonde The Lonely Blonde wears a delicate fragrance of Ger-man noble hops, and slips a touch of white wheat be-tween American pale and crystal malts for a smooth,

sensuous body, fair complexion, and a pleasantly lacy white head. Crisp carbonation slinks the Lonely Blonde quickly away, and you’re left with nothing but a slight lingering sweetness as you contemplate how The Lonely Blonde can be so beautiful on so many levels.


• RandonneurEvocative of the day-long bicycle touring rides for which it is named, The Randonneur is a summery saison brewed with German malt, Australian hops, French yeast, and American flair. Melon and tropical fruit notes breeze through a crisp, dry palate, and at just 4.1% ABV, it’s the perfectly refreshing companion to your summer’s adventures - whether by bike, boat, or barbecue.


• The Libertine A libertine is someone living free of society’s re-straints. Similarly, The Libertine doesn’t constrain itself with preconceived notions of what a beer style should be. Loaded with malts that include the UK’s premium Maris Otter and Caramel 60, and topped off with Rye to impart a distinct reddish hue, the Liber-tine is a malt-dominated red ale like none you’ve ever had before. It boasts a rich, indulgent body without being overly sweet. Conventional classifications fail The Libertine, but who really wants to play by the rules anyway?

Grand Teton Brewing is the original brewery of Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. We have been brewing our handcrafted beers at the base of the Tetons since 1988.

• Howling Wolf Wiesse Bier Howling Wolf Weisse Bier is an unfiltered Bavarian-style Hefeweizen. Brewed with a hearty amount of wheat, this Weissbier pours a light clouded golden color with a generous head. Gently hopped to balance the malt sweetness, Howling Wolf’s flavors and aro-mas are subtle with a hint of fruit and spice. At 5% alcohol by volume, this light-bodied ale is a refreshing session beer for any time of year.


• Sweetgrass APA Sweetgrass APA is a Pale Ale of distinction! 2009 Great American Beer Festival Gold Medal winner in the American Pale Ale category, this crisp and fragrant beer is hopped and dry-hopped. Try it with any bold, flavorful food to complement its citrusy, resinous spici-ness.


• Snarling Badger Imperial Berliner WeisseWe’ve taken a traditional style and added our own twist; we’ve tripled the strength over the traditional beer, which will increase its aging potential. For this beer, we initially brewed small batches of Berliner Weisse and fermented them at warm temperatures entirely with Lactobacillus. This allows the complex sourness and zesty tang to develop over several months. Once we achieved our desired level of sour-ness, we brewed larger batches of Berliner Weisse and fermented them with traditional Bavarian Hefeweizen yeast. This yeast produces soft notes of banana and clove and is a great compliment to the sour tang of Lactobacillus. When both beers were finished ferment-ing, we blended them to create our final product.

• Splash Down Belgian Golden Ale True to style, this beer starts sweet, then finishes dry

with a mild yet progressive bitterness from European Noble hops. Though pale in color, Splash Down proves to be complex and inviting, with intriguing spiciness created during fermentation by Belgian Abbey yeast. Our Belgian Abbey yeast is fermented warm and pro-duces tastes and aromas like sweet bananas, bubble gum and cotton candy. A small kettle hop addition of Czech Saaz hops gives a spicy and earthy hop aroma, while imparting bitterness on the front of the palate and slowly fading to the back of the tongue. This Bel-gian-Style Golden Ale is perfect for summertime drink-ing and also for prolonged cellaring.

Jack Pine Brewery [BOOTH # 2/24]

Jack Pine Brewery was founded in 2012 to bring fresh, locally brewed beer to the Brainerd Lakes area. After years of fine-tuning recipes at home, award-winning homebrewer and National ranked BJCP beer judge Patrick Sundberg decided to bring his passion for good beer to the public. This small startup brewery is making 100 gallons at a time on College Drive in Baxter. The brewery has a taproom where pints and tasters of the latest brewery creations can be had. The brewery also sells ½ gallon refillable growlers to-go during taproom hours (check the brewery website for times). Jack Pine’s beers are available in the taproom and at select tap accounts in the Brainerd Lakes Area.

• Fenceline Fenceline is a hopped-up American Pale Ale. By pushing nearly all the hop additions to the end of the boil and dosing the beer with even more hops in the fermenter (a technique called “dry hop-ping”), this mild-mannered pale ale is bursting with hop charac-ter. A blend of Chinook and Columbus hops meld well to provide bright hoppy notes with an interesting array of citrus in both the flavor and aroma.

• Duck Pond Duck Pond is a subtly complex Nut Brown Ale. Milwaukee’s own Lakefront Brewery Inc. started in 1987. The industrious and inventive microbrewery located on the Milwaukee River has become a Milwaukee landmark. Its rich history includes partnerships with local taverns, preservation of local historical pieces, unique tours, family style dining options and most importantly, great beer.

• Fixed Gear Inspired by the energy and audacity of the fixed gear courier, Lakefront Brewery ran smack into this arresting creation. Fixed Gear is a big, bold American red ale. It pours a glaring crimson tone with a rocky white head and a brilliant floral-citrus aroma, thanks to an aggressive dry hopping. Its immodest, malty spine and intrepid caramel flavors blow in via gratuitous amounts of 2-row pale and dark caramel malts. A balanced citrus bite comes from Chinook and Cascade hops followed shortly by mild, fruity esters from the ale yeast. This one’s got an attitude.


• IPA Pours a hazy orange with a rocky white head that lasts, and leaves soft lace on your glass as you sip this refreshing beer. American Cascade and Chinook hops dominate the aroma, yield-ing a citrusy, floral bouquet. The hops give a nice bite to the flavor profile, but this beer is well balanced with a full body and smooth malty flavor to back up the hops. It finishes smooth and crisp with

a lingering hop flavor reminiscent of fresh ruby red grapefruit. Goes well with any spicy Indian or Thai food: green curry, tom yum soup, or pad thai beef dishes and fried seafood will stand up to the hops as well.


• Extended PlaySometimes you need an IPA that goes the distance. That’s why we put together Extended Play. This is an India Session Ale, which means all the hoppy goodness of a legit IPA, but with less alcohol. Huge citrus and floral aromas greet the nose from the stacks of Citra and Cascade hops added toward the end of the boil and in the whirlpool. The flavor is extremly citrus forward with just a touch of light caramel malt, giving way to a mild, hoppy finish, coaxing yet another sip. In short, it’s a beer that bears repeating.


• Wisconsinite

Wisconsinite: the most Wisconsin beer ever! Made with 100% Wisconsin-grown malted barley, wheat, and hops, including a unique, first-of-its-kind, never before fermented, indigenous Wis-consin yeast strain. It pours a hazy, unfiltered, straw color with a fine white head. The mild clove, banana, and citrus aromas from the Wisconsin yeast go well with the malty sweetness and fresh baked wheat bread flavors. With its light body, lively efferves-cence, and 4.4% ABV, Wisconsinite is a refreshing summer ses-sion beer. The beer was created around a new native Wisconsin yeast strain envisioned by Lakefront President Russ Klisch and developed by Jeremy King of home brewing supplies distributor Northern Brewer. Their new strain is believed be to the only North American-grown yeast in commercial use today as well as the first native brewing yeast from Wisconsin. Yeast is just the tip of the local-sourcing iceberg, however. All products used in Wisconsin-ite hail from the state, including its water, malted barley, wheat and hops. Wisconsinite is great with lighter, summer fare: green salad, seafood salad, smoked salmon, lemon pepper chicken, and shrimp or fish tacos.

LUCID Brewing [BOOTH # 3/26]

In July 2010, over a craft beer at a local restaurant, Eric Biermann and Jon Messier had a Lucid thought – “Let’s throw away the ties and the corporate ladders. Let’s start a craft beer brewery!” That Clarity in Thinking, led to the successful launch of Lucid Brewing. AIR, DYNO, FOTO and DUO, along with seasonal and small-batch brews, have quickly become Minnesota favorites at local bars and restaurants. Great success has followed them after throwing away the daily grind for the daily brew.

Located in the West Bank neighborhood near the University of Minnesota campus and the Mississippi River, the newly and completely renovated Minneapolis Town Hall Brewery is a 17 year old brewpub. Our building once housed a trolley stop and features a pressed tin ceiling. Our tree covered patio with ample outdoor seating welcomes you to a full food menu. Take your pick from our five year-round house ales and lagers, as well as 10 seasonal beer lines including nitro beers and fruit infused beers.We are a nationally recognized brewery with numerous awards from the Great American Beer Festival.

• Saaz Pils Traditional Pilsner style made famous in the Czech Republic. Made with the finest Pilsner malt and Saaz hops from that region. Light in color and alcohol with a distinct sweetness that has become the signature of that particular lager yeast. Our version of this classic Bohemian style lager is well hopped for a spicy finish.


• Mango Mama IPA Our popular malt forward and citrusy IPA aged on fresh mango fruit. Winner of Best of the Fest at the inagural All Pints North Festival.


• IBAOur IBA offers an interesting blend of flavors gener-ally given by American IPAs with the malt backbone

and flavor you would expect from an American brown ale. When first poured, it tends to resemble the IPA style more, after some aging it will seem more like an American brown ale. Ingredients include British Pale, American Caramel, wheat and chocolate malts. The generous hop additions included Citra, Centennial, East Kent Goldings and Eldorado.


• Citra Mania Our version of the now classic “West Coast” style IPA is absolutely loaded with Citra hops.


• Russian Roulette Imperial stout, also known as “Russian imperial stout” or “imperial Russian stout,” is a strong dark beer or stout in the style that was brewed in the 18th century. It has a high alcohol content - nine or ten percent abv

is common. Flavors like, roasted caramel, deep red berries are usual for Russian style Imperial Stouts. Russian Roulette begins as our Ol’ Jack Frost Impe-rial Stout, then after a lengthy aging period the beer is transferedr to an awaiting bed of Belgian Dark Chocolate. After more aging on just the right amount of chocolate Russian Roulette is born. It is sweet and delicious and is good before or after dinner, and cer-tainly with nearly any dessert.


• Manhattn ReserveOur well aged Belgian Grand Cru introduced to tart red cherries and aged inside of a freshly dumped Wood-ford Reserve Bourbon Barrel.

• Odell IPA We took the traditional IPA, a style originally shipped from England to India in the 1700’s, and made it bold-er and more flavorful - American Style. We’ve added new varieties of highly aromatic American hops, like Amarillo, Simcoe, and Horizon to create a distinctive bitterness profile and an incredible hop character. Whole flower hops used in the hop back give way to a remarkable fresh citrus aroma. The sensory experi-ence is completed with a final dry hopping.


• St. Lupulin A mystical legend echoes in our brewhouse - that of St Lupulin the archetypal hophead. He devoted end-less summers to endless rows of hops, tending to the

Red Wing Brewery [BOOTH # 2/15]

We are the first brewery in Red Wing to open its doors since 1951, and are proud to carry on the tradition of small-batch brewing in our city. The Red Wing Brewery features historical beers from Red Wing’s past, additional beer styles that are favorites among craft beer lovers, and our own root beer. We also serve a menu of handmade pizzas, calzones and appetizers.

• Red Wing Premium Red Wing Premium beer was distributed regionally in traditional kegs and bottles, but it was also Red Wing’s only beer to be sold in cone top cans. The recipe that we use today dates back to 1913, when the City Brewery used local ingredients to create a lighter and crisper beer resembling the brews that had become popular in Europe. As of old, Red Wing Premium is still made with Midwestern malt for a truly local brew that continues to be Red Wing’s “Finest Beer.”


• Remmler’s Royal Brew In 1861, William Heising began a brewery and saloon at the old “Minnesota House,” which stood on the northwest corner of Fifth and Bush Streets in Red

Wing. His successor, a German named Adolf Remmler, led the brewery to become one of the two prominent beer manufacturers in Red Wing until Prohibition. We proudly re-introduce the original 1896 recipe of the brewery’s flagship brand – Remmler’s Royal Brew. Back in the day, this beer was greatly enjoyed by those who thirsted for something strong and flavorful, and we believe that it is time, once again, for Remmler’s Royal Brew to take its place as a Red Wing favorite.


• Pepie’s PorterRed Wing lies at the head of the greatest lake on the Mississippi River – Lake Pepin. Twenty-five miles long and surrounded by mountainous bluffs, Lake Pepin is a natural and recreational paradise. But legend says that it is also the home of Pepie, the mysterious crea-

ture that lives in the dark depths of the lake. It is only fitting, then, that Pepie’s Porter be a dark beer with a mysterious complexity in flavor that derives from sev-eral varieties of caramelized, flaked, and roasted bar-ley. While you might not be able to locate the elusive Pepie, you can always depend on finding satisfaction in a Pepie’s Porter.


• Good Old Zimmie’s Root Beer Some of you may remember root beer as it was meant to be – the soda fountain kind with that little kick to it. Good Old Zimmie’s Root Beer is made in this way, using a traditional recipe with a touch of locally-pro-duced real maple syrup. Zimmie’s doesn’t contain high fructose corn syrup, which is the major sweetener in most soda products today. Just simple ingredients for a good old-fashioned flavor.

Rush River Brewing Co [BOOTH # 2/16]

Rush River Brewing has been producing ales since 2004. We produce only unfiltered and unpasteurized ales. We don’t stabilize our beers with pasteurization so our ales are a fresh, natural product and we sell only locally to keep our flavor profiles in tact. Each bottle and keg will have residual amounts of brewers yeast and proteins in the beer oftentimes giving it a slightly cloudy appearance in the glass. It also contributes to a heartier mouth feel which is characteristic of a naturally brewed beer. Our brands are full flavored and stand up very well both in cooking and pairing with food. Our goal is to remain at the forefront of small batch, locally brewed ales. We hope you try all of our styles, and enjoy them responsibly.

• Unforgiven Amber Ale Rich in flavor and mildly sweet, this amber ale is dry-hopped in the conditioning tank to add a subtle herbal nose. The robust caramel color and flavor is comple-mented with a frothy head that leaves a thick lacing on the glass. A classic session ale, great with food.

• Über Alt Our Alt is a much stronger version of the traditional Dusseldorf Altbiers. An ancient style from the Rhine-land, Altbiers are ales that were virtually wiped out by German lagers in the 1800’s. We use plenty of European hops and German pilsner malts to brew a remarkably clean beer. We then rest it in the cooler for two months to achieve the mellow finish that is the Überalt’s trademark.

• NORTHERN LIGHTS ALE The South Shore Brewery continues it’s dedication to innovative and progressive beer styles. As a cream ale it combines the features of a lager ( crisp and smooth) with the best of an ale (fruity and complex) into one beer. We’ve also added 5 % oatmeal and 16% white wheat for a round, smooth flavor and mouthfeel. There is a very slight hop presence. Additionally, we’ve intro-duced a blend of herbs into the finished product which enlivens your senses with a unique refreshing taste.


• BOURBON BARREL COFFEE MINT STOUTThis beer uses are terrific Rhoades’ Scholar Stout recipe as it’s base. That being a “sweet” stout by definition. More like the London Stouts ( Makeson; Chocolately) and unlike the Irish Stouts ( ie. Guiness; Roasty). It will incorporate fresh ground coffee and dried peppermint leaves as aromatic additions at the end of the boil. In the same way hops are used in most beers. After primary fermentation and a brief condi-tioning period the beer is allowd to age for at least three months in 12-15 year old bourbon barrels. You really can perceive all the flavors and the compliment each other magnificeintly.

Tin Whiskers was founded by three college friends, Jeff Moriarty, President and Brewer; Jake Johnson, Head Brewer, and George Kellerman, who met in the Electrical Engineering school at the University of Minnesota. What began as happy hour daydreaming turned into brainstorming, spreadsheets, and countless brew sessions. The founders of Tin Whiskers have melded the best parts of their engineering background in their approach to brewing. Extremely detailed process systems and exacting controls make for beer of the highest quality and repeatability. Tin Whiskers employs small batch brewing on their prototype system which is inspired from agile development and allows them to do low risk recipe experiments with adventurous ingredients.

• Short Circuit Stout Short Circuit Stout is a full-bodied and roasty stout with a lingering sweet aftertaste. It uses 5 different malts to create a variety of flavors that change through the course of taking a sip.

Utah Breweries [BOOTH # 4/40]

WASATCH BEERS was formed when Greg Schirf found his way to Utah from Milwaukee only to discover that his newly adopted home state did not have a brewery of its own. Recognizing a need and an opportunity, he committed to rectify this situation. In 1986, Schirf opened the first brewery in the resort town of Park City and named his beers after the majestic Wasatch Mountains that rise just east of Salt Lake City. SQUATTERS founding partners Peter Cole and Jeff Polychronis followed the American brew pub revolution from the beginning in the early 1980’s.The pair undertook a yearlong pub crawl, sampling beers throughout the west. Squatters Pub Brewery opened for business on September 5, 1989 at 147 West Broadway in downtown Salt Lake.

• Squatters Hop Rising A mighty hop-lover’s dream. Hop rising adds malty backbone to an intense Imperial IPA. This insanely smooth dry-hopped ale has everything: 9% ALC/VOL, 72 IBUs, and yes, thats our master brewer Jason Stock pitching in on the label.


• Wasatch Ghost Rider Legend has it Ghostrider roams Utah’s Wasatch Range seeking revenge: “someone” lost his White IPA recipe. Smooth and crisp, it’s made from pale barley and citrusy hops. It’s too good to hide!

• Mischief A “frizzante” (lightly aparkeled) cranberry mead. Enjoy the tart-ness of Wisconsin cranberries balanced with the semi-sweet honey finish. Excellent poured over fresh or frozen fruit or sorbet.
