PRESIDENT’S WELCOME

Dear Colleague,

The Annual Conference 2010 returns to the City of the Tribes and this is

the occasion for you to bring your ‘dental tribe’ for an educational and team

building experience! This will be a conference with a difference, specifically

geared to the whole dental team.

At the scientific programme, I look forward to hearing world-renowned

speakers from far and near covering areas of significant interest to you and

your team. I am particularly pleased to welcome such well known speakers

as Dr Howard Farran of Dentaltown.com fame, who will stimulate your

practice management thoughts, Dr Stanley Malamed, who will update your

information on local anaesthesia, Dr Joseph Massad, who has hands-on tips

on how to maximise your denture successes with and without implants and

Dr Richard Mounce who will review current thinking on endodontics. The

best of local talent from both academic and practitioner disciplines will also

make very practical presentations, from which everyone should have some

take-home gems.

As every year, the dental trade show will showcase new and advanced

products, equipment and technology from the dental industry. All members

of the dental team will have the opportunity to discuss new products and

the various advancements in products and services with our trade

colleagues.

The Irish Dental Association is the main provider of continuing dental

education in Ireland and with this in mind attendance at the entire

conference guarantees all dental practitioners their entire annual CPD

requirement for 2010. From 2010, CPD will be a mandatory requirement

for all dentists, so this is surely an added incentive to attend.

No conference is complete without a varied and exciting social programme,

and this year in particular all social activities will be geared for fun for you

and your team!

A busy, cultural and lively city, Galway offers visitors the very best in

hospitality to create the ideal location for our 2010 conference. Be sure to

mark May 13-15, 2010, in your own diary and in your office diary now, for

The Pearls of Wisdom Conference and Oceans of Fun.

I look forward to seeing you in Galway!
