Description Van Gorp idlers are designed to effectively and efficiently guide conveyor belts and successfully transport materials with maximized energy savings. Van Gorp equal troughing and troughed impact idlers are available in 20°, 35° and 45° roll inclinations. Manufactured to CEMA class B-F standards, Van Gorp idlers can also be custom modeled to a customer’s request.

ABOUT VAN GORP

History Van Gorp Corporation was founded by Franklin “Hap” Van Gorp. Mr. Van Gorp started in 1933, initially performing repairs for coal mines, gravel plants, rock quarries, and area farmers. By the 1950s, Van Gorp was manufacturing portable conveyor systems for use throughout the Midwest. Van Gorp was officially incorporated in 1957.

In 1976 Van Gorp was acquired by Emerson Electric Co., and in 1988 entered into a new organization phase called Emerson Power Transmission. In October, 2002, Emerson divested to Van Gorp Corporation.

Van Gorp is now owned and managed by company president Joe Canfield. Today, Van Gorp’s commitment to product improvement and development has enabled the company to become a leader in engineered conveyor components.

The difference between complete idler frames and rolls in the ordering nomenclature is the lack of the angle or bracket.

A complete idler would be ordered as C5-35TE-24, where the rolls for this idler would be ordered as C5-TE-24. This roll would fit also a C5-20TE-24 idler frame.

In the same way, a complete idler frame for return would be ordered as C5-4R-42, where the rolls for this idler would be ordered as C5-R-42R. This roll would fit also a C5-1R-42 as well as a C5-1F-42 or C5-4R-42.

For idler frames that have different roll length, a distinction is made in the roll nomenclature. Center is used to refer to the center roll, where wing is used for the side rolls.

Idler Types

Trougher Equal Idlers are used to support the belt, and carry the transport section of the belt.

Impact Troughers are used in the loading section of the belt. The rollers have cushioning rubber disc to lessen the belt damage when loading material

.

Unequal Idlers are used to reduce the height to aid in magnetic separation, picking, sorting or manual separation. The load rating are greatly reduced because most of the weight is on the long center roll. Unequal Troughing Impact Idlers are also available.

Channel Inset Idlers are used in a channel conveyor or other vertical surface by side mounting. They are commonly used in tight clearance areas requiring a low profile. Available in Trougher , Impact, Return, Flat Carrier and Rubber Disc configurations.

Return Idlers support the belt during the return path. Available with different drop brackets and rubber disc configuration for sticky corrosive or abrasive materials.

Flat Carrier Idlers are used for picking, sorting, feeders and package handling. Available also with Rubber Disc.

Self-Aligning Idlers assist in keeping the conveyor belt centered on the conveyor when temporary or transient conditions could result in belt misalignment. Available with Trougher and Return type.

V-Return and Inverted V-Return idlers are used to assist with belt training along the return stand. They consistof a two roller V-return shape frame design.

Live shaft idlers with pillow block bearings provide an increased loading capacity. Available in solid rubber disc

rolls and steel rolls.

Van Gorp Idlers are compatible with most important brands in the market.
