Stakeholders’ Perspective about MSP

- Don´t have a clear knowledge about MSP

- Just one research group is working on MSP ininternational waters (NAFO) in order to propose a MPAfor the vulnerable ecosystems in a explorations andexploitation area for hydrocarbons and deep sea mining(International Seabed Authority and UNCLOS [UN Law ofthe Sea])

- How we contribute to the MSP?

- The research institute is ready to collaborate with theSpanish Competent Authority (Ministry for EcologicalTransition) from the MSFD data and analysis.

Suggestions to improve the link between the sector and MSP

- To improve communication and dialogue between policy and sciences

- Specifying experimentation area in MSP to conduct the research for innovation and technology test

- Full funding for MSP

- To look for synergies between private sectors and science research (eg. currently with commercial fisheries fleet, in the future with industry and technology innovation)

- Stakeholders contribute with data “as better data better assessment to our government and private sectors”
