>> Yahoo! Has Agreed To Pay $1.1B For Tumblr

Yahoo! Has Agreed To Pay $1.1B For Tumblr. Its founded by David Karp in Febuary 2007 and its headquartered in New York, As of May 19, 2013, Tumblr hosts over 108 million blogs, 50 billion postings in 12 languages and 175 employees. The website ranking site Alexa lists Tumblr as number 32 in terms of global popularity. Tumblr is microblogging, social networking service website. According to WSJ, Yahoo Chief Executive Marissa Mayer's deal for Tumblr would give Yahoo, one of the original big Internet companies, a fast-growing Web service that could fill one of its many holes—namely, the lack of a thriving social-networking and communications hub.

Page 8: Igadgetware issue 5

iGadgetware #issue-5 Page 8

Tumblr is popular with many younger adults, in contrast with Yahoo's older customer base. Tumblr is also growing more quickly on smartphones than Yahoo. According to the technology website AllThingsD, "which is part of the Journal's parent company, Tumblr founder and chief executive David Karp will get a large cash windfall and also stay at Yahoo for four years, retaining control over the service. Tumblr has started selling modestly sized “native ads” promoting brands’ Tumblr pages, on users’ “dashboards,” which has shown promise. Tumblr has said it had $13 million in revenue last year and sources said it could get up to $100 million this year."

Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer strategy wants their products offers to gain new users and advertisers for business to Yahoo as according to Report. As below image Mayer Tweet on 20 May..

Page 9: Igadgetware issue 5

iGadgetware #issue-5 Page 9

She wrote on their Tumblr Account , "I’m delighted to announce that we’ve reached an agreement to acquire Tumblr! We promise not to screw it up. Tumblr is incredibly special and has a great thing going. We will operate Tumblr independently. David Karp will remain CEO. The product roadmap, their team, their wit and irreverence will all remain the same as will their mission to empower creators to make their best work and get it in front of the audience they deserve. Yahoo! will help Tumblr get even better, faster.

>> Now Linkedin Added Two Step Verification

Linkedin Introduced new optional feature that adds another layer of security to your LinkedIn sign-in: two-step verification. According to LinkedIn blog, "All LinkedIn accounts are already protected by a series of automatic checks that are designed to thwart unauthorized sign-in attempts. Now, we are introducing a new optional feature that adds another layer of security to your LinkedIn sign-in: two-step verification." Just few weeks ago Twitter was started two step authentication. >> Facebook Has Launched Verified Pages And Profile

Facebook has Launched Verified Pages And Profile badges for celebrities and business pages on Wednesday 29th May. Verified badge is little identical with Twitter verified badge. Twitter already had launched this service as four year ago. Facebook said at their newsroom page, "Today we're launching verified Pages to help people find the authentic accounts of celebrities and other high-profile people and businesses on Facebook. Verified Pages have a small, blue check mark beside their name on timelines, in search results, and elsewhere on Facebook. Verified Pages belong to a small group of prominent public figures (celebrities, journalists, government officials, popular brands and businesses) with large audiences. This update is rolling out to profiles as well." As we can see on McDonald's page has authentic verified by blue check mark which shown original Facebook page of McDonald's. Verified pages

display as blue check mark. This service is useful to prevent from fake accounts.

>> HTC Allegedly Working On One With Stock Android

HTC is working on another version of HTC One that runs the stock Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating System for the US market to actually compete the special edition of the Samsung Galaxy S4 running the same operating system. Google unveiled this special edition of their Samsung Galaxy S4 running the stock Android 4.2 Jelly bean at the I/O 2013 which surprised everyone and now HTC has followed the path into doing the same with the HTC One for a similar version to its US market. The HTC is working on this version of the HTC One as opposed to the earlier expected usual sense UL according to the sources at the Greek.com. HTC and Google working in collaboration to come up with this version Currently it is not clear whether Google has actually joined hands with HTC to come up with this new version of HTC One running on stock Android Jelly Bean.

Page 12: Igadgetware issue 5

iGadgetware #issue-5 Page 12

The fact that the two companies are working together or not will actually indicate if the device will be sold through the HTC’ own online stores or through the Google Play Store. It will also determine if this HTC One will be able to get frequent updates on a timely basis. It is always known that if the updates are not always directly from Google then the stock Android may not necessarily guarantee the quick updates for the device. It is very likely that this new version of HTC One that is running the stock Android Jelly Bean operating system is done through a collaboration of both Google and the HTC to come up with a final end product. During the I/O 2013, Barra briefly mentioned the HTC One before announcing the Galaxy 4 which they announced its version that runs stock Android Jelly Bean earlier this year. What about the availability and price of this version of HTC One? This HTC One running the stock Android Jelly Bean is actually expected to be released in the US market only. Currently there is still no information as to whether it will be availed globally later on even though the move to take it to US only is not such a great idea for the company but they usually work in that manner.

The price of this version of the HTC One is not yet specified either by the HTC Company or in any event for that matter but you will definitely get posted as more information concerning this is given.

>> 4 Reasons Why You Should Switch To A DSLR Right Now

4 Reasons Why You Should Switch to a DSLR (Digital single-lens reflex) Right Now. If you are a photography enthusiast, then you would be passionate about clicking some great pictures. It might be that you have dabbled with basic digital point-and-shoot cameras for way too long, and are considering the option of switching over to a more professional DSLR. This can lead to a lot of confusion, as you might not know the camera in which you should invest.

Page 21: Igadgetware issue 5

iGadgetware #issue-5 Page 21

Before you go to your local electronics store, you should figure out if you really do need to upgrade your camera at all. The following points will help you to understand the 4 legitimate reasons that you should consider before buying a professional DSLR camera. Once you figure this out, you can make use of best buy coupons to get a good deal!

1. You Are Not an Amateur

For most people, photography begins as a hobby. Gradually, they gain sufficient expertise in it to consider a livelihood that revolves around photography. If you belong to this category, then getting a professional DSLR will be a very good idea for you.

But, if you are somebody who is just starting to take pictures, then there is no need to invest in an expensive DSLR camera. You should remember that you can shoot good pictures on your regular point-and-shoot camera. In fact, some people even take great pictures with their phone camera. The trick, here, is to simply manipulate light.

This means that you should take some time to master your regular camera, and play with lights before you buy a more professional DSLR brand. You should let your creativity flow, and learn a few techniques of basic photography before worrying over the kind of camera that you should buy. In fact, without these fundamental lessons you might find yourself overwhelmed with the complexity of the more specialized varieties of camera.

2. You Want To Easily Change the Depth of Field

Your aptitude to manipulate the depth of field will depend on your ability to change your camera’s lens easily. This is something that is possible with a professional DSLR camera, which comes with a variety of lenses, as compared to a standard lens that a point-and-shoot camera possesses.

With the help of these lenses, you can shoot an amazing variety of landscape photos and pictures of objects that are at a distance without blurring them. This is especially important if you are into wildlife photography.

Page 22: Igadgetware issue 5

iGadgetware #issue-5 Page 22

3. You Crave For Better Image Quality

Generally speaking, you can shoot better pictures with your DSLR, than the less specialized varieties of camera. With DSLRs, you can expect less photographic noise that spoils the quality of pictures.

4. You Want To Manipulate Speed

Professional cameras take multiple shots per second and can focus on objects much faster than your regular camera. This is important to capture moving objects in photographic frame.

Other than these above advantages, professional DSLRs offer a greater degree of control for their users. If you want to get a great deal on a great camera, there are many best buy coupon codes that you can avail from credible online sources.

After the capture process, it takes seconds to merge the multiple exposures into one larger images using automated stitching functionality built into recent versions of Adobe® Photoshop® and other software offerings. >> Introducing New Detroit Electric Car Review

Detroit electric will be able to reach 62 miles per hour in just 3.7 seconds and will carry on to a top speed of 155 mph. This car uses a mid rear configuration motor and battery pack in the middle which power sent to the rear wheels and comes with a removable body colored hardtop. Unique auxiliary function inside the car like SP:01 has an integrated smartphone in the center console that controls.

The Detroit Electric SP:01 is a limited-edition, two-seat pure-electric sports car that sets new standards for performance and handling in electric vehicles. Boasting an impressive 155 mph top speed and covering the 0-100kmh (0-62mph) sprint in a blistering 3.7 seconds, performance motoring has a new champion. And the entire cockpit is finished in swaths of leather and carbon fiber trim. That smartphone system, named SAMI (Smartphone Application Managed Infotainment) includes amenities like navigation and a music player, while allowing the driver to adjust the regenerative braking and

interior lighting, as well as viewing key status points for the vehicle's operation (level of charge, range, etc.). And yes, it makes phone calls. Company claim that its the world fastest pure electric production car. Press Release: DETROIT ELECTRIC UNVEILS SP:01 – THE NEW BENCHMARK FOR ELECTRIC VEHICLE PERFORMANCE AND HANDLING - Limited edition SP:01 two-seat electric sports car is unveiled in Detroit - Fastest pure-electric production car on the market: top speed is 155 mph and 0-62 mph (0-100km/h) in just 3.7 seconds - Striking, lightweight and strong carbon-fibre body - Electric motor generates 201 bhp (150 kW) and 166 lb ft of torque - Range from a single charge will exceed 180 miles - Each SP:01 will come with a three-year, 30,000 mile warranty - First pure electric sports car to be built in the Motor City - Production to start in August 2013 Emissions-free motoring has a new high-performance champion following the unveiling today of the Detroit Electric SP:01, a limited-edition, two-seat pure-electric sports car that sets new standards for performance and handling in the electric vehicle (EV) segment. Boasting an impressive 155 mph (249 km/h) top speed and covering the 0-62mph (0-100km/h) sprint in a blistering 3.7 seconds, the SP:01 is the world‟s fastest pure-electric production car. The new SP:01 was launched under the brand‟s mantra of „Pure Electric Excitement‟ and was revealed at Detroit Electric‟s new headquarters in the Fisher Building in downtown Detroit. Just 999 examples will be built at Detroit Electric‟s new production facility in Wayne County, Michigan, with cars sold worldwide through a network of specialist retail partners. The SP:01‟s exceptional performance is owed in large part to its excellent power-to- weight ratio. The rear-wheel-drive SP:01 features a compact, mid-mounted 201 bhp electric motor (delivering 166 lb ft of torque), a lightweight, purpose-designed battery pack and all-new carbon-fibre bodywork. Total weight is just 2,354 lb, contributing to the SP:01‟s superior driving dynamics and class-leading handling.

Page 49: Igadgetware issue 5

iGadgetware #issue-5 Page 49

The vehicle is based on a strong yet lightweight aluminium platform, and is being launched following a five-year development and road-test programme. As well as the all-new carbon-fibre bodywork, similar to that used in Formula 1 vehicle chassis, the SP:01 also features specialised performance-tuned suspension, steering and brake systems to provide class-leading ride and handling characteristics. To deliver instantaneous torque for breath-taking acceleration, the SP:01‟s innovative powertrain creates an electromagnetic field around the rotor shaft, which then spins at varying speeds to drive the wheels. Drivers can select one of four gear ratios for optimal acceleration, but unlike a manual shift in a conventional car, there is little need to change gear regularly to ensure brisk progress. With an impressive energy storage capacity of 37 kWh, the battery gives the SP:01 a range of almost 190 miles between recharges, when tested to the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) standard. Detroit Electric‟s home charging unit will enable drivers to charge their SP:01, with full charge achieved in 4.3 hours. Rigorously tested by Detroit Electric for use in the SP:01, the battery technology also has been deployed successfully in other highly demanding applications, notably in helicopters and submarines. "The SP:01 will be exclusive, luxurious and technologically advanced," said Albert Lam, Detroit Electric‟s Chairman and Group CEO. "It is a milestone in the history of the Detroit Electric brand, but also a significant development for the international EV sector. The car will allow us to demonstrate to the world our ability to build an exciting and innovative product, one that displays outstanding performance coupled with strong green credentials, and which delivers an exhilarating driving experience." Emotive design The SP:01‟s bespoke bodywork is constructed entirely of carbon fibre. Styled by Detroit Electric‟s Head of Design, Jerry Chung, the SP:01‟s angular lines and muscular stance give the car a bold, imposing design while also optimising aerodynamic efficiency. The one-piece front panel features a sharply contoured bonnet and angular front fenders with imposing air-intakes to emphasise the car‟s power and prowess. The compact rear light cluster is reminiscent of

Page 50: Igadgetware issue 5

iGadgetware #issue-5 Page 50

high-performance American sports cars of the past, while the integrated side cooling ducts enhance the car‟s distinctive profile. To accentuate the SP:01‟s pure electric credentials, a transparent inspection window displays the vehicle‟s impressive battery technology. The interior of the vehicle hints at the essence of the Detroit Electric brand by combining luxurious refinement with advanced technology – highlighted through the use of carbon- fibre and specially selected leather finishes. Unique SAMI infotainment system The cabin of the SP:01 is packed with innovation, being the first to use smartphone applications to manage the complete in-car infotainment system. Named „SAMI‟ (Smartphone Application Managed Infotainment system), SAMI provides access to a wide range of functions, including music player, satellite navigation, interior lighting adjust and vehicle systems status – such as the level of battery charge, range to recharge and other vehicle telemetry. It can, of course, also be used to make mobile phone calls. The inspiration does not just stop here. SAMI can also act as a remote control unit (via GSM), enabling the user to locate the vehicle, turn on the climate control system and check the charge status. More than just a sports car "Our research engineers at Detroit Electric have taken steps to break the mould," adds Mr Lam. "SP:01 is more than just a sports car, it is a mobile energy unit, allowing the user to use its stored battery energy to power not just the car but even an entire home. SP:01 is equipped with bi-directional charge and discharge capability, allowing it to release its stored electrical energy to power a home." The SP:01‟s bi-directional charge and discharge feature is made possible through the patented Detroit Electric home charging and power back-up unit, named „360 Powerback‟. It is a smart home-charging and power back-up unit that enables the SP:01‟s battery to be charged at the rate of 8 kWh (240V@32A). This smart unit can also detect any power failure of the grid and provide the option to the user – via SAMI and the GSM network – to instruct the vehicle to restore power to the home using its stored energy. "360 Powerback is the next

Page 51: Igadgetware issue 5

iGadgetware #issue-5 Page 51

level of innovation and shows our determination to provide additional value proposition through our EVs, uniquely elevating us from others in the segment," added Mr Lam. Power preserved An all-disc braking system, coupled with ABS (anti-lock braking) and ESP (Electronic Stability Control) is fitted as standard, ensuring excellent stopping power. But it is the SP:01‟s Regenerative Braking technology that sets the car apart, underpinning superb stopping performance while ensuring greater energy efficiency. The car‟s energy recovery mechanism uses the motor as a generator, recovering kinetic energy when acceleration is interrupted and using it to recharge the vehicle‟s battery packs, while imitating the retardation characteristics of a gasoline engine. Production and pedigree The SP:01 sports car is the first production vehicle to be marketed under the Detroit Electric brand since 1939. On sale in many of Detroit Electric‟s target markets by end of August, the SP:01 will herald a new family of all-electric production cars, including two other high-performance models that will enter production by the end of 2014. The price of SP:01 starts at $135,000 USD, and will vary according to specification and local taxes. Each SP:01 will come with a three-year, 30,000-mile warranty with an optional extension for the battery to five years and 50,000 miles. The SP:01 will be produced at the new Detroit Electric production site in Wayne Country, Michigan. The dedicated facility will have an annual capacity of 2,500 vehicles and create over 180 manufacturing and sales-related jobs over the next year. The original electric car innovators, Detroit Electric began life in 1906 and established itself as the market leader and most prolific manufacturer of electric cars. Detroit Electric went on to make some 13,000 vehicles by 1939 and holds the electric vehicle production world record for the twentieth century.

>> BlackBerry: BBM Will Not Launch For iOS And Android On 27June

BBM won't launch for iOS or Android come June 27, says BlackBerry, despite a T-Mobile U.K. tweet early Thursday revealing that date. There's a report spreading around today that BBM is coming to iPhones and Android devices on June 27. “Recalibrate your excitement levels” , says BlackBerry, the release date given for its long-awaited version of BBM for iOS and Android is wrong . According to a source with knowledge of BlackBerry's plans, the June 27 launch date for BBM on Android and iPhone is not correct. In fact, our source called all those stories you may have read "bogus .

"While there have been reports that BBM will be available to iOS and Android on June 27th, this is not accurate," the Z10-maker said. "We will communicate an update as soon as we have an availability date to share” . In an apologetic tweet, T-Mobile said, "sorry folks, we got over-excited about the BBM app coming to Android/iOS. No specific availability date yet.”

The app, which is going to be free, will let you chat across platforms to your pals who also use BBM. The service will compete with popular messaging apps like WhatsApp and Viber. BBM which has more than 60 million active monthly users will allow users to chat for free between

different mobile platforms shoppers are still interested in the firm's phones when the app is available else where . BBM has traditionally been one of BlackBerry's killer features . On May 14th, BlackBerry announced plans to make its ground-breaking mobile social network, BlackBerry Messenger (BBM), available to iOS and Android users this summer, subject to approval by the Apple App Store and Google Play. While there have been reports that BBM will be available to iOS and Android on June 27th, this is not accurate. BlackBerry Messenger has been widely lauded as a solid and secure messaging system, and it was a point of pride for the company during its heyday. BBM, when it debuts on Apple's platform, will go up against not only Apple's iMessage service, which reproduces many of BBM's features as well as its security, but also third-party apps like WhatsApp. Also the social network Facebook has been pushing its Facebook Messenger service on both Android and iOS. BBM on other platforms will initially offer just messaging but BlackBerry CEO Thorsten Heins said in the service’s announcement that they’ll be adding more features over time, including screen sharing, BBM voice and the new BBM Channels. Making BBM an independent product is a dramatic, bold step for the company, given that it is often cited as a key competitive advantage that BlackBerry still maintains over its rivals, but the company is clearly keen to look at survival strategies that go beyond making a comeback as a smartphone maker. BBM isn't the only fish in the sea anymore, however, as there is now an amazing bounty of mobile messaging platforms to choose from on iOS, Android and even BlackBerry that offer similar functionality. It’s easy to see BBM launching on iOS and Android as giving license to disaffected users to leave for what they perceive as greener pastures, while taking their network and social contacts with them. Still, this is a calculated risk, and BlackBerry must see a very clear and present upside to opening up its platform beyond BB OS. It definitely has the network volume, which is generally the goal of pre-monetization start ups launching similar products, so we’ll see where it takes things from here. We’ve reached out to BlackBerry for direct confirmation, and will update this story if we hear back with more information.

>> The New Nokia Lumia 928 Almost Picture Perfect

Nokia’s new flagship smartphone with enhanced PureView Technology is in the building, Nokia Lumia 928. The device is optically enhanced with their proprietary PureView imaging technology boasts of upgraded features from its predecessors, the 925 and the 920. A Verizon Wireless exclusive in the United States, the Lumia 928 can be owned for just $99 under a two-year contract. The phone, like its Apple iPhone 5, HTC One, and Samsung Galaxy S4 competition has been molded into a classic one-piece candy bar form factor. It sports a simple straight-cut look akin to the Sony Xperia Z, but with much simpler lines. Built a bit lighter and bigger than the older version, the 928 weighs in at a reasonable 5.71 ounces and measures 5.24 by 2.71 by 0.44 inches. Color scheme-wise, the phone looks very similar to the 925, with a glossy black face covered in scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass and the rest of the phone clad in a solid polycarbonate shell. While the device comes in different colours, options are sparse at the moment as the phone is only available in the United States in the standard monochromatic tones, at least for now.

Page 61: Igadgetware issue 5

iGadgetware #issue-5 Page 61

Undeniably the most prominent selling point of the Lumia’s latest installment is its PureView imaging technology. The phone’s rear camera employs premium Carl Zeiss wide-angle optics, with lenses housed separately from the 8.7 megapixel camera sensor. This design features integrated into the camera’s optical image stabilization system (OIS). It ensures that the lenses stay parallel to the sensor, significantly reducing camera shake and increasing picture stability. These factors have already enabled the camera to take superior quality snapshots and clips in low-light condition. But Nokia takes one step further by including a xenon flash unit alongside the camera. This allows for even better pictures and video in dark environments, and lets it easily outshine its rivals. Nokia’s PureView imaging technology, found in the new smartphone takes pictures at 3264x2448 pixels. It also captures Full HD 1920x1080p video at a smooth 30 frames per second.

Page 62: Igadgetware issue 5

iGadgetware #issue-5 Page 62

The 928 is also equipped with a 4.5 inch screen with a native resolution of 768x1280 pixels, and an effective pixel density of 334 pixels per inch throughout. Basically the same size and spec as the Lumia 920, the main difference is that the successor uses an AMOLED screen as opposed to the former’s IPS LCD. With AMOLED, colors are richer and more vibrant, making the screen much easier to read outdoors. Also, the screen complements the Windows Phone 8 operating system. The OS is powered by a whopping 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon S4 processor and 1GB of RAM. Among the phone’s other features include 4G LTE connectivity for next-generation, high-speed Wi-Fi, and near-field communications (NFC) technology. The phone also comes equipped with an ambient light sensor, a proximity sensor, an accelerometer, a gyroscope, and a magnetometer for motion control. Finally, the company decided to natively integrate Qi wireless charging technology into the device’s chassis, without the need for a separate back cover accessory.

Page 63: Igadgetware issue 5

iGadgetware #issue-5 Page 63

With all these features, the device is almost perfect. With Windows Phone 8, it also comes with 7GB worth of access to Microsoft’s SkyDrive cloud storage service. This is apart from the phone’s built-in 32GB storage space. But then, being a Windows phone, the platform doesn’t share the same robust choice of apps that iOS and Android have. Nevertheless, nobody should count out the new Lumia just yet. The innovative PureView technology alone is good enough reason to consider this phone for an upgrade, especially for the discerning mobile photo enthusiast.

>> Blackberry Q10 QWERTY Flagship Smartphone

Blackberry Q10: Blackberry’s QWERTY Flagship smartphone. Blackberry is having tough time facing onslaught of Androids and iPhones. Though,it revolutionized the world of mobile devices by bringing QWERTY Keypad, Push Emails and tons of features to make them smarter and more productive, it didn’t changed with time as the world was moving towards touchscreen devices and advanced operating systems. But, Blackberry is now trying to evolve itself which started with new BB10 OS for Blackberry Phones and launch of an all-touch flagship smartphone- Z10. Though people prefer touchscreen devices, many people are die-hard fans of its QWERTY keypad allowing one to type fast and accurately. Something, which touchscreen devices can’t offer. Therefore, to satisfy needs of such people, Blackberry have now launched Q10 allowing both touch as well as keypad inputs based on its latest OS-

Page 72: Igadgetware issue 5

BB10. Read on to find more about it! Design The Q10 will certainly not be given any awards for its looks, but it will please the Blackberry loyalists since the company has taken cues from the design of Blackberry Bold and made some nice changes to it. Since the Q10 uses touchscreen along with keypad, so Blackberry has removed the top row of buttons including trackpad and controls. Q10 is very handy with dimensions of 119.6 x 66.8 x 10.4 mm and a weight of 139 grams. At the front of the phone, you’ll find a display screen, which we will discuss later and a front-facing camera. Back of the phone sports a rear camera with a metallic Blackberry logo in the middle. The back cover is removable giving access to SIM slot and microSD card slot. Its control layout is similar to the Z10. At the top, there is a power button and 3.5 mm headphone jack. The micro-USB and micro-HDMI are on the left, while a play/pause/voice control button is surrounded by volume up and down keys on the right. Display At the time when every other smartphone are breaking new records with their display size, Blackberry Q10’s display comes as a surprise. It’s a 3.1 inch square screen (720 x 720 pixels) equating to pixel density of 328 pixel per inches. Due to SuperAMOLED display, the screen renders crisp images and videos. Though the screen is 30 percent larger than previous Qwerty phones by Blackberry, it seems very limiting to consume videos or surfing internet or even reading emails. KeyBoard The USP of Q10 is undoubtedly its physical keyboard. The layout of Q10’s keyboard is similar to Blackberry Board, but keys in Q10 do away with round and curved edges. Q10’s keyboard is a straight row of keys. The keyboard allows you start typing right away- even when you’re at home screen, which will search for contacts and apps. It also allows you to enter ‘bbm’ to open Blackberry Messenger or ‘email’ to start an email. But, the physical keyboard defeats the purpose of virtual predictive keyboard introduced in BB10. It gave the ability to flick upwards on individual letters to auto-complete words and swiping from right-to-left will delete the word. On the other hand, Q10‘s predictive mode only places a row of suggestions for the word you might be typing.

Page 73: Igadgetware issue 5

iGadgetware #issue-5 Page 73

Hardware Blackberry Q10 is powered by a dual-core 1.5GHz processor accompanied by 2 GB of RAM. It also have PowerVR SGX544 graphics processor. It has an in-built storage of 16 GB, with option of expanding it up to 64 GB. On connectivity front, it has LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and GPS. It has various sensors like Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Proximity sensor and compass. It is fueled by a Li-ion 2100 mAh battery. Software Q10 comes with BB10.1 OS, an OS Blackberry designed to take on hugely popular Android and iOS platforms. BB10 OS uses gesture based interface. Instead of tradition menu, one will find option by moving sideways- finding four frequently used apps, all apps, Blackberry Hub (centralized place where one will find all calls, texts, emails, BBMs, etc). Similar to Android, it features a quick toggles for turning on or off services such as Bluetooth, screen rotation, Wi-Fi, etc. Talking about app count, this is one area where Blackberry have to work really hard. There are only 10,000 apps present in Blackberry World compared to more than 700,000 apps present on iOS and Android. While it has some good apps like Facebook, Twitter, etc., it stilllacks popular apps like Instagram and Netflix. Camera Q10 features a rear camera of 8 megapixels with LED flash capable of shooting videos of 1080p@30fps. The secondary camera is of 2 megapixels capable of shooting 720p videos. Due to BB10.1 OS update, Q10’s camera capture HDR (High-dynamic range) images taking two picture of a scene- one high contrast image and other being a normal version, which is certainly a good option. Overall the camera’s performance is good, though is just fine in low-light conditions. Verdict Q10’s pricing put it in to the league of smartphones like HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4, and that’s where Blackberry faltered. Apart from its physical keyboard, it fails miserly other aspects of hardware specs, display, etc. in front of such smartphones. Moreover, the app support in BB10 OS needs to be more, because more than phone’s hardware, apps are capable of creating altogether a different experience for the users. If you’re keyboard fan, then you can go for Q10, else there are much better options available in the market.

>> Android Vs iPhone – The Battle Is Still On

The war between Android smartphones and iPhone is never-ending. Both are one of the most chosen mobile operating systems and for that reason, each is trying their best to beat one another in terms of their number of users and apps loaded. With a number of manufactures entering into the Smartphone market every day, it becomes difficult to decide whether to buy an Apple's iPhone or Android phone. With loads of options available in this new landscape, it’s obvious that you’ll be faced with an array of phones that will meticulously confuse you. Hence, let us compare both the mobile application development to ease your buying. Programming language: In the iPhone application development, Apple uses Objective-C programming language, which is completely based on C including a number of extensions in respect of interfaces, messages, dynamic typing and so forth. On the contrary, the Android application development uses

Page 77: Igadgetware issue 5

iGadgetware #issue-5 Page 77

Java as a programming language. Many experts often preach that Java is a no-brainer encoding tool and find iPhone app development more thrilling. That’s why many developers today prefer iPhone app development in comparison of Android application development. Platform comparison: With Android, there is always a fear that their special functionality can be easily discovered by other developers as its OS has an open nature. Hence, other developers can easily twist the Android apps. Furthermore, it’s also very simple and easy to download the source code of an Android app. But this is not the case with iPhone. It is hard to find out its special functionality and source code in applications built for iPhone as it has a close nature of OS. Battery comparison: The iPhone has an excellent battery as compared to the Android phones. The Android devices come with loads of features because of which its battery life is lower in comparison to the iPhone. Updated OS comparison: Apple updates its iOS better than what the Google do for Android. The iPhone system is practically easy to understand and every new phone comes with the updated versions of OS. Every phone can also be updated if it’s embraces an older version. All Android devices, on the other hand, doesn't support this advancement. Programming model comparison: iPhone programming model is based upon the prototype of MVC design. This tool aids in creating a simple User Interface, by arranging as all the coding logically in the source code. In contrast, the Android supports multi-tasking. Therefore, being little bit complex, both platforms deliver declaration of user preferences in XML. The Android's XML prototype allows assimilating the customized user interface constituents. However, with iPhone, it’s not an easy task. Other points of Comparison: It is simple and easy to share and post updates on social networking sites in iPhone than Android because of the deep integration of these platforms with iOS. iPhone offers restricted customization options for the home screens. Just the rows of app icons can be modified. No third-party apps come pre-loaded by the wireless carrier and users can install their desired apps only from the App Store. On the other hand, Google’s Android facilitates

Page 78: Igadgetware issue 5

iGadgetware #issue-5 Page 78

amazing customization as well as you can also download apps from various platforms. From the above-mentioned points, it is clear that both the mobile application development have some advantages as well as disadvantages. This is upon your needs and desire that which one to select. Both the mobile phones are having a great demand amongst the young generation.

>> Apple Unveils iOS 7 In WWDC 2013

Apple iOS 7 introduces great new features like Control Center, AirDrop for iOS, and smarter multitasking. It also makes the things you do every day even easier, faster, and more enjoyable. And while many of the apps look different, the way you do things feels perfectly familiar. So from day one, you know how to use the world’s most advanced mobile OS. In its most advanced form. Just week before Apple Official Releases OS X Mountain Lion v10.8.4 Update. “There is a profound and enduring beauty in simplicity, in clarity, in efficiency. True simplicity is derived from so much more than just the absence of clutter and ornamentation--it’s about bringing order to complexity.”

Page 79: Igadgetware issue 5

iGadgetware #issue-5 Page 79

The ever-popular Apple rumor mill has everything from iRadio to the iWatch to the iPad 5 now it’s the time to release some big details about the future of its products at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) and fine out more about iOS 7 and Mac OS X 10.9 . “This actually support multitasking for all apps . This ia a biggest change to iOS since the iPhone has been launched and actually a success for our team “ says CEO Tim Cook . “We have always thought of design as being much more than the way something looks, it’s actually the the whole thing in a way something actually works on so many different levels” , says Ive . Apple may use iOS 7 as an opportunity to update its Maps app. Other features in iOS 7 may include new ways to do things through gesture commands. This has just tried to create an interface that’s unintrusive and deferential. We see iOS 7 as a defining new direction, and in many ways, a new beginning . The other big software update for Apple will be to their desktop operating system. As with iOS 7 we can certainly expect a cleaner, more minimalist design, but beyond this , predictions are uncertain. Apple might be bringing more of the mobile world to the desktop with possible additions of Apple Maps, and iBooks, and Siri apps.

Page 80: Igadgetware issue 5

iGadgetware #issue-5 Page 80

Multitasking has always been a smart way to switch between apps. Now it’s even smarter. Because iOS 7 learns when you like to use your apps and can update your content before you launch them. Camera in iOS 7 puts all your shooting formats — still, video, panorama, and now square — front and center. With a swipe, you can capture what you want the way you want.1 Fast. And new filters let you do even more with each image. With iCloud, you can share your favorite moments with your favorite people by creating a shared photo stream. Microsoft And FBI Take Down Malicious Botnet Named Citadel. Microsoft, working along with the FBI and 80 authorities from across the world, took down the vast majority of computers that were part of a malicious botnet network known as "Citadel." The Citadel botnets were one of the biggest cyber crime rings, allegedly responsible for stealing more than $500 million from the bank accounts of more than 5 million infected computers over the past 18 months. The network was made of at least 1,400 botnets, which are an army of infected computers used by hackers to exfiltrate data, attack other computers and commit other types of cybercrimes. The FBI issued a report this week on the rising use of botnets, which are groups of infected computers controlled by cybercriminals. Criminals can infect a huge network of computers numbering in the hundreds of thousands or even millions and then each computer is connected to a command & control server operated by the criminal.Botnets can be used to distribute spam, malware and assist with organized crime and terrorist activities, said the FBI. The "bad guys" behind Citadel, however, are still unknown . Authorities believe the hackers behind Citadel reside in Eastern Europe. Their ring

leader allegedly goes by the name of Aquabox and works with at least 81 other conspirators. The Citadel malware was mainly spread via pirated versions of Microsoft Windows. Once the virus infected a computer, it stole banking credentials and used those to syphon money from some of the World's largest banking institutions like Bank of America, HSBC, Wells Fargo and other financial companies such as Paypal or American Express. The botnets were mainly located within the United States, but also in Western Europe, Hong Kong, India and Australia. Microsoft's team of digital detectives, who are based at corporate headquarters in Redmond, Washington, have been involved in seven efforts to attack botnets since 2010. Wednesday's marked its first collaboration with the FBI. The software maker sought help from the FBI about 10 days ago. At that time the agency told Microsoft that it had already done significant work on a criminal probe into the Citadel Botnets, the FBI's McFeely said. Microsoft said it and the FBI are working with law enforcement and other organizations in countries including: Australia, Brazil, Ecuador, Germany, Holland, Hong Kong, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Spain and the United Kingdom. More than 1,000 numbers of botnets that were shut down on Wednesday, Microsoft said 455 were hosted in 40 data centers in the United States. The rest were located in dozens of countries overseas.

>> Domino's Newest Pizza Delivery System By Drone

Domino's Newest Pizza Delivery System By Drone. The traditional pizza delivery boy could soon be a thing of the past if a revolutionary new plan by Domino's comes to fruition. The popular chain has teamed up with an advertising agency to build a drone which is capable of delivering pizzas to its customers by flying them through the air. The 'Domicopter' by passes crowded streets to reach its target within minutes and still keeps its cargo piping hot on arrival.

“If anything, it went quicker than a pizza boy, We were amazed at how easy it was going to be” says Biscuits founder Tom Hatton told Fox News. The idea is far from impossible, as proven by Domino's UK franchise, who recently posted YouTube video showing a pizza being delivered by an unmanned flying vehicle -- the DomiCopter. The DomiCopter -- created and operated by a drone company called Aero Sight appears to safely deliver a pizza over a large distance. First, it was not technically a drone mission.

While Domino's said, "GPS coordinates could potentially be used in future delivery flights, this inaugural mission was controlled by an experienced drone copter pilot who had the benefit of several cameras to help guide the flight . It may be a geek's dream come true, but it won't happen in the U.S. very soon, though."

Page 89: Igadgetware issue 5

iGadgetware #issue-5 Page 89

The pizzas were loaded into an insulated bag to keep them warm on their pioneering journey, which would take them four miles to their destination.

Two cameras mounted on the drone chronicled every moment of the 10-minute flight, which ended successfully with the warm treats delivered into the hands of a happy customer.

The drone was controlled by a pilot on the ground, although in the future it could use GPS to reach its destination without help from any human operators .

Engineers are now hoping to increase the weight which can be carried by the drone, so that it can transport drinks along with pizzas.

'Domino's is an innovative company that is constantly looking at ways to deliver pizzas as quickly as possible, It could be great to think that one day pizzas could fly!' says company Spokesman .
