EYEGLASS PROJECT UPDATE What a response! We have already collected over 100 pairs of glasses in just two weeks. Donations are still coming in for the next few weeks, so if you have not had a chance to bring your old glasses yet there is

SCHOOL AUCTION NEWS Our amazing community brought in over $150,000 from the auction! The paddle raise alone exceeded our goal by raising $51,800! After expenses, approximately $70,000 will go towards general operating funds for the school and thanks to the success of the paddle raiser, we can proceed with converting the boiler to natural gas and support the costs associated with a new roof. The auction was a wonderful evening shared with friends & family and the proceeds contribute so much to keeping our school great and allowing our kids to thrive! THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
Sacrament of Baptism The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated the first Sunday of the Month directly following the 10 am Mass. One baptismal preparation class is required. The preparation class seeks to help parents understand the Rite of Baptism and to prepare and support parents in the on-going
faith formation of their child. Please call the parish office to schedule an appointment for the baptism class.

(sources Formed, At Home With The Word, Scott Hahn and Loyola Press, Sourcebook) By His death, Resurrection and Ascension, Jesus has gone ahead to prepare a place for us in His Father’s house. His Father’s house is no longer a temple made by human hands. It is the spiritual house of the Church, built on the living stone of Christ’s body. The readings for the last few Sun-days have been about the Resurrection, but to-day’s Gospel takes us back in time to an event in Jesus’ life before his Passion. Jesus tells his disci-ples that he is going to prepare a place for them in his Father’s house. He promises that where he is going, his disciples will be able to follow. Thomas, contradicts Jesus by saying that the disciples don’t know where Jesus is going or how to get there. Jesus explains that he himself is the way, the truth, and the life. In knowing and loving Jesus, the disci-ples now love God the Father. Philip then makes a request that challenges Jesus’ words. Philip wants Jesus to show the Father to the disciples. Recall that Jesus has just told his disciples, “If you know me, then you will also know my Father. From now on you do know him and have seen him.” As a good teacher, Jesus responds to Philip by repeat-ing and elaborating on what he has just told the disciples: they have seen and known Jesus, so they have seen and known the Father. Then Jesus offers another reassurance about his departure: because of faith in God and in Jesus, the disciples will do the work that Jesus has done and more. We who have faith are called to live as people of faith, offering a spiritual sacrifice through our lives. The Lord’s Word is upright and all His works trust-worthy, so we can trust Jesus when He tells us never to be troubled, but to believe that His Word and works come from the Father. The connection between Jesus and his Father, between Jesus’ work and the work of the Father, is made clear in today’s Gospel. Jesus is in the Father, and God the Father is in Jesus. As God spoke his name to Mo-ses, “I am,” so too Jesus speaks his name to his disciples: “I am the way and the truth and the life.” The revelation of the Trinity is completed in the passage that follows today’s reading, and it is the Gospel for next Sunday. Because Jesus goes away, the Father will send in Jesus’ name the Ad-vocate, the Holy Spirit, who will continue the work of the Father and of Jesus. Jesus Word continues its work in the world through the Church.

Mass of Remembrance

read and photo to be displayed during the Rite of Remem-
brance, please submit by May 17th the name of your deceased
loved one, date of birth, date of death and your photo to the

Reception will follow mass in the Saalfeld Room of the parish
center.
Volunteers are needed for set-up for reception, assisting with
the Rite of Remembrance, and ushering.

But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and sisters, about those who have died so
that you may not grieve as others who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and
rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have died.
