Arsalan will need Jan 9 to configure the student Mac Books. I can work with the students on the morning of the 9th for a group chat on the Metro, taxis, Shuttle and shopping - functional and otherwise. If we do this as a group discussion, the peer perspective with be more lively. This will take the pressure off arriving faculty. We could schedule the "Safety and Emergency" part for the afternoon session. I'll talk with Sharon our U-Bora officer regarding this topic. She may be willing to do a presentation.Thursday should be dedicated to All IT with practice time factored in. There is a substantial learning here with student success tied to getting the Google part.We're looking at a dinner cruise of the Marina for the Founder's Dinner - this would make for a lively dynamic event.

Hans had a good idea. He suggested we should say something occasional at the orientation, something aboutthe fact that we are beginning a new endeavor and a new enterprise with our students--and they with us--and what that means. He also suggested that we encourage them to make early contact with faculty and stay in contact to help ensure their academic success. To enable that we should start off with faculty introductions as well as introductions to the staff at IHC.
