Rodney WintherRodney Winther is Professor Emeritus of Music and recently retired after fourteen years as Director

of Wind Studies and Professor of Music at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.His duties at CCM included conducting the Wind Symphony, Chamber Winds and the CCM ChamberPlayers, while also teaching Masters and Doctoral students in Wind Conducting. Mr. Winther's frequentappearances as guest conductor and clinician have taken him across the United States and abroad,including England, Ireland, the Republic of Malaysia, Taiwan, Singapore, Venezuela and Canada. He hasbeen invited to conduct many of the world's finest ensembles, including the Eastman Wind Ensemble,Royal Northern College of Music Wind Orchestra, Summit Brass,The U.S. Navy Band, The U.S. NavalAcademy Band, Taiwan National Symphony Orchestra Wind Ensemble, the Taipei Symphony Orchestra'sSymphonic Winds, Kent Youth Wind Orchestra (England), World Youth Wind Symphony (Interlochen) andthe Taller para Bandas del Tachira (Venezuela). His conducting workshops, both in the United States andabroad, have been critically acclaimed, helping young conductors around the world for the past twenty-five years. His workshops and concerts in Venezuela were recently recognized when he was awarded theManuel Felipe Rugeles Medal of Honor by the Governor of the State ofTachira. The Medal of Honor isTachira's highest cultural award and Professor Winther is the first American to receive this honor. He waspreviously given the Otorga Beton Honor al Merito in recognition of his contributions in music.

In the summer of 2005, he and CCM were awarded the 14th WASBEConvention, which was held inCincinnati in July of 2009. In addition, he was elected to the International Board of Directors of WASBE,whom he served for six years. He has been a leader in the commissioning and performing of new worksfor the wind band, including premiere performances and recordings by such distinguished composersas Karel Husa, Joseph Schwantner, Warren Benson, Samuel Adler, Dana Wilson, David Amram and AdamGorb, among numerous others. His two recordings with the CCM Wind Symphony on the NAXOSlabelfeature world premieres of works by Bruce Adolphe and Samuel Adler, with the Adolphe recording be-ing awarded a Grammy for "Producer of the Year". Equally impressive reviews have been written abouthis two CD set of Karel Husa's works on Mark Records with the Ithaca College Wind Ensemble. He hasbeen invited to conduct at numerous conventions, including the 2009 Midwest Clinic, as well as the 2011Manitoba (Canada) Music Educators Association Conference, the 2011 Society for American Music Na-tional Conference, 2007 National CBDNAConvention (University of Michigan), 2007 International WASBEConvention (Ireland), 2008 International Tuba/Euphonium Conference, International Women's BrassConference, 2002 50th Anniversary of the Eastman Wind Ensemble (Rochester), 2000 National MENCConvention (Washington D.C.), the Rafael Mendez Brass Institute, the International Saxophone Conven-tion (Montreal), the International Saxophone Symposium of the U.S. Navy Band, the National SaxophoneAlliance, the National Trumpet Guild, the Eastern Trombone Workshop of the U.S.Army Band and the1995 and 1997 BASBWEconventions in England. His book - An Annotated Guide to Wind Chamber Mu-sic - has been hailed as a much needed and valuable resource in this ever-growing area. Both this bookand his new edition of Ruth Gipps Seascapehave been published by Warner Brothers Publications as partof the Donald Hunsberger Wind Band Library. His reputation and experience recently resulted in his be-ing selected for inclusion in "Who's Who in Fine Arts Higher Education".

\ Tro)! RobertsonTroy Robertson is assistant professor of music education at Ithaca College where he conducts the

Campus Choral Ensemble, serves as a faculty mentor for the Junior Vocal Student Teaching Program,and teaches conducting. In the spring he will conduct the Ithaca College Chorus and Women's Cho-rale as Dr. Janet Galvan goes on sabbatical leave. In addition to his work at Ithaca College, Dr. Robert-son is thedirector of the Young Men's Chorus of Ithaca, an affiliate ensemble of the Ithaca Children'sChoir. Dr. Robertson was recently named a fellow of the 2012 Carnegie Hall Choral Institute's Tran-sient Glory Symposium, an honor that includes study with conductor Francisco Nunez, conductor ofthe Young People's Chorus of New York City, and John Corigliano, Grammy, Pulitzer, and AcademyAward-winning composer. As part of the symposium Dr. Robertson will conduct the Young People'sChorus in performance in Zankel Hall, Carnegie's newest venue.

Before coming to Ithaca, Dr. Robertson was choral director at East Gaston High School in MountHolly, North Carolina. Under his direction the East Gaston High School choruses performed in NorthCarolina, Florida, Virginia, and New York, including two performances in Carnegie Hall. While teach-ing in North Carolina, Dr. Robertson served as associate conductor of the Charlotte Oratorio Singersand Charlotte Chamber Singers. In that capacity he assisted in the preparation of large and small-scale choral works for conductors Christof Perick, Scott Allen Jarrett, and Alan Yamamoto. Dr. Rob-ertson also served alongside Tripp McGill as co-conductor of the Gaston County Choral Ensemble.Dr. Robertson holds degrees from Florida State University {Ph.D.}, the University of North Carolinaat Greensboro {M.M.}, and Furman University {B.M.Ed.}. An active clinician and adjudicator, he hasserved at festivals in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, New York, and Virginia.

A tenor, Dr. Robertson has performed as soloist with the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra, theCharlotte Symphony Orchestra and Charlotte Chamber Singers, the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra, theTallahassee Ecumenical Chorus, the Prague Choral Festival, and the Festival Singers of Florida. Rob-ertson frequently composes and arranges for chorus, and studied composition with Mark Kilstofteand Andre J. Thomas. Ensembles including the San Jose State University Concert Choir, Waldorf Col-lege Choir, Festival Singers of Florida, Tennessee Tech Chorale, University of Miami Men's Glee Club,...and Florida State Singers, Choral Union, and Men's Glee Club have performed his works. A nativeof Lawrenceville, Georgia, he is married to Stephanie Robertson, who is completing her psychologydegree {Ph.D.}, also at Florida State University.

Rachel C. bauberRachel C. Lauber is currently teaching Conducting at the Eastman Community Music School and

is a freelance conductor. Recently she was a Visiting Assistant Professor at Cornell University whereshe conducted the Cornell Symphony and Chamber Orchestras. In 2010 Dr. Lauber conducted theNew York State School Music Teachers' Association All-State String Orchestra and has conductedArea All-State and All County orchestras in New York State and Texas. In 2009 she was a presenter on"Expression 'and Creativity Through Gesture" at the New York State School Music Teacher's SummerConference in Albany, N.Y.

Dr. Lauber has served as Music Director of the Livingston Symphony Orchestra, Conductor ofthe Detroit Symphony Civic Orchestra, and has appeared as guest conductor with the Romanian-American Music Festival (with members of the DSO), the Slee Sinfonietta, and the Holland SymphonyOrchestra (MI). In Detroit, she shared the podium in concert with Neeme Jarvi, Tom Wilkins andMark Wigglesworth. She was also director of the Detroit Symphony's Unmasked Series working toplan camera shots, direct live cameras and collaborate with guest conductors (Nicolas McGegan,Roger Norrington, JoAnn Falletta, John Adams, Hans Graf and Tom Wilkins) on their pre-, post-, andinteractive-concert discussions and lectures.

Other podium work includes conducting the University of Michigan Orchestras and the Univer-sity at Buffalo Orchestra. For the University of Michigan Opera Productions she conducted perfor-mances of Janacek's The Cunning Little Vixen and Puccini's Gianni Schicchi & Suor Angelica. She hasdirected the University of Michigan Campus Symphony, the Nazareth College Orchestra, and theShady Side Chamber Music Festival Orchestra.

Ms. Lauber has studied with Kenneth Kiesler at the University of Michigan where she receivedher doctorate in orchestral conducting. Additional studies have included the Conductor's Retreatat Medomak with Mr. Kiesler, the Brevard Music Center with Gunther Schuller, the Oregon BachFestival with Helmuth Rilling, and numerous workshops of the Conductor's Guild and the AmericanSymphony Orchestra League. She has studied in Italy at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Sienaand the Catania International Conductor's Workshop in Sicily.

Sabine KrantzSabine Krantz grew up in Norway and got all her formal music education there. She started les-

sons at age 8 and studied at St. Hallvard, a high school for music. She received her Bachelor's Degreein piano teaching-and performance from The Norwegian State Academy of Music in Oslo (NorgesMusikkhegskole] where she studied for three years under Geir Henning Braaten, Sigurd Slattebrekkand Jiri Hlinka.

Sabine married an American from Minnesota and lived in the Twin Cities before coming toSyracuse with her husband and four children. She sings in the Syracuse Vocal Ensemble and cur-rently teaches voice and piano privately. She also does accompaniment for choir concerts in the EastSyracuse-Minoa and Fayetteville-Manlius School Districts, plays or sings for the Civic Morning Musi-cals' Lunch Hour Recitals at the Everson Museum of Art, is staff accompanist for vocal auditions andcompetitions, and plays for juries and recitals at OCCand SUo
