YOUR SINGLE SOURCE SOLUTIONS PROVIDER FOR ILI PIPELINE INTEGRITY MESA has created an ILI pipeline integrity program offering that is a cradle to grave approach. MESA has the capabilities to execute all phases of the ILI program. This program consists of the following phases: Prior to the ILI Survey Initial site and document reviews: The aim here is discovery. MESA works hand in hand with our partner clients in reviewing data to determine pigability. If there are issues that need to be corrected, MESA will provide construction services to remediate any issues to ensure the ILI tool passage. AGM surveys: MESA will survey the pipeline and document Above Ground Marker (AGM) locations and foreign line crossings. The AGM survey is used in conjunction with the ILI tool data to determine anomaly locations. AGM locations are also used for tracking purposes. Pig trackers will be placed at these predetermined sites to help track the tools progress. Should the pig get stuck, these points will be the starting point for locating the tool. Inspection tool selection: MESA provides recommendations for ILI tool and vendor selection if needed. MESA has inhouse experience in tool specifications and performance metrics, API 1163. From MESA’s initial site visit and operational review, we can determine what type of pipeline cleaning, if any is needed. MESA has experience in running cleaning pigs and recommends cleaning the pipeline just prior to the tool run. Debris analysis can be performed to determine the best cleaning approach, whether that be mechanical or chemical. A dirty pipeline is the number one reason for tool failure. Prior to the ILI SurveyInitial site and document reviews: The aim here is discovery.

After an ILI SurveyMESA will provide analysis of ILI results. Once the ILI tool vendor has provided a complete report, both preliminary and final, MESA will perform data review and remaining strength calculations to classify ILI indications as immediate, scheduled, or monitored per the clients and DOT parameters.

ILI Dent Location and Ingress & Egress (I&E) Mapping surveys are used to establish and document proposed dig locations prior to performing ILI Dent repair. After an ILI pass has occurred, a dig sheet is generated for locations where ILI Dents have been identified.

MESA will provide survey services to locate all immediate and scheduled ILI tool indication locations. We will also provide field excavation crews to excavate the bell hole at the identified locations. MESA will provide a bellhole technician to locate and examine the ILI tool indications and will submit acceptable remediation methods to the client for review. MESA has used both composite wrap and type B sleeve repairs. The appropriate remediation technique will be determined by code requirements and client procedural requirements. In closing, we will provide recommendations and procedural support as well as the construction execution.

Dig Book(s): This information is a conceptual list to be included in the post-ILI run Dig Book. This purpose of this information is to provide direction to the Integrity Re-Locate team, Project Management & Administration team, and Excavation and DE/BH team on scope and location of the project which requires excavation and DE services. Supportive documentation and inspection forms should also be included. This information can be applied and added afterward to the Job Books as a final report for client record.
