The IM3I project addresses the needs of a new generation of media and communication industry sectors, facing relentlessly advancing technologies and radically evolving media consumption behaviours.

Due to exponential growth of digital content, there is a critical need for highly customisable interfaces tailored to match both individual user profiles and specific types of search. IM3I aims to supply creative media organizations with new ways of searching, summarising, and visualising large multimedia archives.

IM3I provides a service-oriented architecture that allows for multiple viewpoints of multimedia data deep inside repositories, providing better ways to interact and share rich media. This paves the way for a multimedia information management platform that is more flexible, adaptable, and customizable than current repository software. This in turn opens new opportunities for content owners to monetize their digital assets.

IM3I enables new ways of accessing, presenting, and interacting with media content, offering a natural, transparent interface that simplifies the experience for all types of users.
