IMET2000 held its Annual Gala Dinner on the 5th February onZoom. The event was attended by approximately 500 generousattendees and raised plenty of money to assist IMET2000 withits many projects.
We are exceedingly grateful for our friends and supporters whomanaged to join the evening and generously supported usfinancially and with their time.

IMET2000 Supports the Emergency Council inNablus District with Essential Equipment to Help
Fight COVID-19 Crisis
4th February 2021
We have just donated essential equipment needed for thetreatment of patients with COVID-19 to the Emergency Councilof Yitma Village-Nablus. This included essential equipmentrequired to support COVID-19 patients with breathingdifficulties such as oxygen generator, pulse oximeters, Ambu-bags and sphygmomanometers. The emergency Council requested this kit of equipment as itwould be instrumental in saving lives temporarily until theambulance arrives at the village to transfer patients uponsudden deterioration. These will benefit more than 4,000 peopleliving in rural areas with limited access to immediatehealthcare at Nablus city major hospitals.

IMET2000-Pal held two workshops covering advancedCardiovascular Life Support were attended by 12 doctors andnurses from different hospitals. We have been honoured to have Dr Mai Kaileh joining ourtraining workshops in one of Nablus key COVID treatmentcentres. Dr Kaileh thanked IMET2000 for continuous support,emphasised the importance of such training and the need formore. This training is among other key courses we are runningto enhance the clinical skills of nurse and doctors in the settingof cardio-pulmonary resuscitation.

IMET2000’s CEO Dr Malik Zaben appeared on Maan TV on the9th of February for an interview, where he discussed whatIMET2000 was and what it did, its achievements in the past yearand any future plans for the charity.He also spoke aboutIMET2000’s Annual Gala Dinner that was held on the 5th ofFebruary, where he discussed who attended the eveningincluding the Palestinian Ambassador to the UK, Dr HussamZomlot and the Palestinian Minister of Health, Dr Mai al-Kaileh.

IMET2000 Holds Its Second Workshop on ClinicalAudits in The Palestine Medical Complex

In response to the second request from the education officials fromthe Palestine Medical Complex, IMET2000 held the workshop:
Clinical Audit for Healthcare ProvidersThe workshop was held in the Palestine Medical Complex and wasattended by 14 doctors, including the Continuing Education officer DrHassan Eida. He emphasised the importance these workshops have inimproving the field of research in Palestine.The workshop was directed by the CEO of IMET2000 and lecturer inCardiff University, Dr Malik Zaben, where he began by starting theimportance of medical research and clinical audits in Palestine. Hetalked about his role in facilitating diagnostic procedures for patientsin the future. Dr Eida also noted the constant need for more researchworkshops and encouraged the attendees to overcome their fear ofresearch and begin involving themselves with it due to its variousfuture benefits. To conclude, Dr Zaben thanked the attendees forattending and stated that these workshops all contribute to improvingthe field of medical research in Palestine.

IMET2000-Pal in cooperation with American Arab Universityorganised the:
Critical Core Training: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Physiciansand Nurses
from different hospitals in the West-Bank at American ArabUniversity-Jenin and Al Rayhan. The two workshops wereattended by 20 doctors and nurses. These trainings promptphysicians and nurses to recognize several life-threateningemergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliverappropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AEDaccording to American Heart Association Guidelines. they wereled by Mr Farid Abu Leil and Mr Fayyez Gannam (AmericanHeart Association “AHA”) Instructors

In response to requests from the School of Medicine in Al-QudsUniversity, IMET2000 held: My First Clinical Audit as Medical
Student: Research Methodology Session 3 (Research Club)The workshop was held in cooperation with the Scientific ResearchClub at the School of Medicine and was attended by 55 medicalstudents on Zoom. It opened with a few words from Dr SoheirErekat the Research Club’s supervisor, where she thanked Dr MalikZaben for responding to the club’s requests and welcomed all theattendees. She then expressed her wish that this workshop be heldagain in the future due to the positive effects it had on thestudents. The workshop was directed by the CEO of IMET2000 andlecturer at Cardiff University, Dr Malik Zaben. He began by talkingabout the importance of medical clinical research and clinical auditin Palestine and encouraged students to take it up due to itsimmense future benefits. To conclude the workshop, Dr Zabenanswered any questions the students had and indicated that thesesessions will contribute to improving the field of medical researchin Palestine.
