Save the Date! The 3rd Annual “March for Life” will take place on Friday, January 18 @ 1pm to coincide with the 46th annual National March For Life in DC—the world’s largest pro-life event! The March will begin at the parish steps and proceed along Seneca Street. Plan to be part of this peaceful, prayerful witness to Life! For more infor-mation or to help, contact Carolann Darling, parish Respect Life Ministry, at 607-351-6668. Ministry Opportunity; The parishes of our region will extend our ministry to the Tomkins jail. Fr. Joe Macoux has been generously helping for the last several months since the departure of Fr. Gerry SJ, from the Ithaca and Cornell Catholic community. We are looking for individuals who will help do Communion service on a regular basis. Training will be provided for all volunteers so they can effectively minister to our brothers and sisters. The priests in our region will each offer Sunday Mass once a month. Final details are forthcoming. This a special ministry that will help those in most need of the Good News proclaimed by our Lord Jesus. Call the parish office for more information. Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Invite family and friends to the great

feast of the Nativity of our Lord. May

the great feast fill you with all the

heavenly blessings, joy and peace!

A NOTICE REGARDING THE CHRISTMAS SERVICES

December 24: Christmas Eve Monday 4:00pm (w/ Pageant) choral concert at 9:15pm 10:00pm Mass

December 25: Christmas Day Tuesday 10:30am

This the last Sunday before the Great Solemni-ty Christmas! First let’s focus on how Eliza-beth greeted Mary, “Most blessed among women.” What does this greeting mean? These are words that are now used everyday by mil-

lions of people who say the Holy Rosary. Luke is trying to tell us that Mary belongs to a category considered unsuitable, that God uses to bring about the salvation of the world.. Through Mary, God accomplished the most extraordinary event in all history. He gave us His Son. A BIG shift of things here; God chose not to live in a building but in the womb of the Blessed Mother. Can we learn anything from this? Having the Lord within one-self is not only reserved to Mary. Each community and everyone of us must become like Mary, always saying YES to the Lord and ready to do His divine will. Our task is to bring the Lord Jesus to others. Mary is called “blessed” because she believed that the promises made to her by the Lord would be fulfilled. She knew that in spite of appearances to the contrary the Word of the Lord would be fulfilled. Pray for us, for our families, for our parish and for the whole world, Mary Mother of God.
