Sixteen years after its creation, the 8th Mozo-Grau Implantology Congress has become the benchmark standard for the dental implantology sector. Another successful event, the eighth edition which took place from 7-8 February 2014 attracted 1,902 registered participants.

Mozo-Grau, dedicated as ever to Science and Research, organised a programme divided into six different thematic areas with the same end goal: rigorous research and scientific quality.

These thematic blocks, which were decisive with regards to the success of call for the 8th Implantology Congress, were as follows: Peri-implantitis; predictable immediate loading; regeneration and grafting; anterior region aesthetics; risk factors for dental implantology and complications arising from dental implantology. Parallel courses took place at the same time about: Bone grafts, sinus lifts, a Course for dental technicians, a course for hygienists and assistants and a basic practical introduction course to dental implantology. Additionally, a ‘Science Room’ was set up as part of the programme where participants could observe the state of the various studies Mozo-Grau is conducting in partnership

with the main Spanish and foreign universities.

At the same time in the exposition area, the latest developments from the company were on show: diamond-like-coating (RCD) drills, stops for RCD drills and a new line of personalised MG Bio-CAM prosthetics for the main implant systems in the market. These new product families were well received by participants who were able to recognise Mozo-Grau’s commitment to providing quality solutions for the sector. PAGE 2 >

(Continued from page 1) The congress began on Friday by looking at peri-implantitis. Dr Alberto Fernández presented his paper on ‘Peri-implantitis prevalence and prevention’ whilst Dr Marco Esposito (Italy) presented an overview of analyses carried out on peri-implantitis studies. Doctors José Manuel Aguirre and Pedro Bullón also made contributions.

Later in the morning Drs Jordi Gargallo, Juan Antonio Hueto, Ignacio de Lucas and Francisco Torres got the ‘Predictable immediate loading’ portion of the congress under way.

The afternoon session began with ‘Regeneration and grafts’ as moderated by Dr David Gallego and Dr Jacinto Fernández. Drs Santiago Ochandiano,

Pablo Galindo and Maurizio Piatelli (Italy) also presented during this block.

The day ended with the ‘Anterior region aesthetics’ block which surpassed expectations. Dr Antonio Bujaldón made a start with a presentation on the handling of soft tissue during implants. Afterwards Dr Arturo Sánchez presented on planning for dental aesthetics success. And lastly, Dr Pablo Domínguez spoke about soft tissue remodelation, in this case using provisional prostheses. After these presentations there was a round table discussion moderated by Dr Sofía Hernández and Dr Juan López Quiles.

The Saturday session opened with the ‘Risk factors for dental implantology’ block. Mr Agustín Ripoll was in charge

of leading this area. Afterwards Dr Tiberio Ciarrocca (Italy) led a talk on mechanical factors as risk factors. Dr Juan Carlos Vicente then presented on bisphosphonates. The first part of the morning session came to a close with Dr Carlos Navarro presenting on reconstructions for cancer patients. Drs Florencio Monje and Javier Montero were the moderators for this debate.

After a short coffee break the last congress sessions began which dealt with ‘Complications arising from dental implantology’ in which Dr Miguel Peñarrocha presented his paper on periapical disease at the implant site.

The session then continued with Dr Ramón Gómez Meda.

Dr José Luis Cebrián began by speaking about the most complex cases seen involving implant complications. After his presentation the scientific portion of the programme ended with Dr Maciej Jagielak (Poland).

Always attentive to the needs of its clients, Mozo-Grau has launched a new range of RCD (diamond-like-coating) drills with no internal irrigation.

This new model of drills offers more precise control with its black colour and depth marks which offer high contrast for improved visibility and performance. Additionally this type of coating makes extracting drilled bone easier due to optimal cutting performance and as no laser marking is carried out on the surface, the unit has a longer service

life owing to is higher resistance to wear and tear. Furthermore, we are also proud to offer the new Drill Stops Kit for RCD drills. These versatile Stops (each is apt for two drill diameters) are manufactured using grade 5 titanium.

Stops are marked for drill depth and diameter, which allows for easy identification.

Additionally the design allows for usage in dificult situations like lateral pieces and ensures the desired depth for the bone is met.
