exchange: During law school I took the Civil Trial Advocacy course in which an entire class was devoted to learning mediation and arbitration techniques. experience, along with my experience at the Ontario Human Rights Commission mediation, has provided me with the practical knowledge of how to exchange ideas and different points of view in a civil and respectable way even when the subject matter is of great personal importance. During law school I also had the opportunity to work at the Legal Aid Clinic where I provided legal services to people from many walks of life. My time spent at the clinic allowed me to gain a great appreciation for individual struggles which often times lead to unfortunate dispositions. My career in law thus far has also assisted me in developing my communication skills through activities such as witness interviewing, conducting trials and negotiating settlements. Finally, the cornerstone of law is civility and I practice this day in and day out even when I am dealing with another party who is not affording me the same level of respect. I believe that I have the skill set required to engage in an exchange of ideas while respecting and appreciating others skills, abilities and knowledge. intrview : yes emailadd :

other members of the London Housing Advisory Committee in an attempt to resolve any necessary housing issue that might arise and to put into motion suggestions and ideas for the betterment of the citizens of London. This Committee is essential to the well being of all of London. When housing problems in London become apparent, I would like to be part of trying to find solutions that work for everyone.

My input and contribution might be seen as coming from an “average joe” whose perspective and ideas balance those of the other members of the LHAC; willingness to expend the time and put forth all necessary effort to reach the goals of the LHAC. I have been told that I have made positive contributions to the issues on social housing. I believe my opinions and suggestions to date have been solid and have been accepted and acted upon accordingly. During my term as a member of the LMHC Board, I have not missed a meeting or sub-committee meeting and would strive to continue that perfect attendance record to my role on the London Housing Advisoty Board.

Selected for the West London Advisory Board under the auspices of Bob Wood, former MPP; active participant in municipal government election; close advocate of the development of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and related topics; exposure to non-profit housing corporations, Homes Unlimited (London) Inc. and OdellJalna Residences of London; reviewer and public participant of the Affordable Housing Strategy for the City of London.

Past interaction with social agencies such as the Children’s Aid Society of London 8 Middlesex and dealing with clients on sensitive issues; Changing Ways volunteer; member and volunteer of The Multiple Sclerosis Society; member of the Ontarians with Disabilities; volunteer with Life-Spin. I feel I am a compassionate individual who sincerely cares about people, generally putting others first. In a perfect world, we would all be regarded as equals; however, we do not live in that perfect world. In appreciating and respecting the skills, abilities and knowledge of others, you must also look to ones weaknesses and lack of knowledge. It is from the lack of knowledge the desire comes to seek out answers to questions in resolution.

BUCKINOHAM PALACE

Dear Mrs. Wilton,

The Queen has asked me to thank you for your letter of 19th March. Her Majesty appreciated your kind suggestion that she might visit Windy Wood’s Non Profit Housing Project in London, Ontario, during her visit to Canada this Summer. I am afraid, however, that The Queen’s programme is already very full and it will just not be possible to include a visit to the Project in it.

I am sorry to send you a disappointing reply, but I hope it may be possible for you and the residents to see something of the Royal Visit on Iocal television or in media reports.

Yours sincerely,
