About the Case Conference
Introduction
Global business environment is becoming more complex and is witnessing radical changes in terms
of intensity and pace which are distinguished by uncertainty and volatility. The need of the hour is to
bring changes in thinking, practices and behaviour. Success will depend on how well businesses can
analyze problems, identify ways to attend them and implement suitable solutions. This approach can
lead to exploration of new opportunities for growth. Change is the only constant which is inevitable in
today’s business scenario for growth and sustainability and businesses are expected to make a well-
timed transition towards a sustainable society.
Against this background, this international case conference focuses on the theme
‘Leveraging Business Value by Evolving Management Practices’.
The International Case Study Conference 2014 aims to provide broad coverage and dissemination
of foundational research, where participants will have opportunities to present and publish their
original research cases, exchange their views and also to network in the forum.
Cases can be developed based on primary as well as secondary data. Cases in the early stage of
development may be submitted without teaching notes. Case embryos in the very early stages may
also be submitted for discussion.
IES MCRC, Mumbai, invites academicians, researchers, consultants and management practitioners
to submit original, unpublished cases in all the areas of business management, education, social
issues, technology and healthcare.
The competition is open to all students pursuing graduation and post graduation in any stream.
Cases and teaching notes under student submission category, if received by November 30, 2013;
would be considered for the Case competition awards. The student-awardee will present that case
during the Case Conference. Students can also convert summer projects to cases, provided the
faculty or industry guide is one of the authors.
