Congratulations to all of you. Parliament Week This week in KS2, children have been busy researching, reading and preparing arguments about a range of topics. In UKS2, children developed arguments in response to: Year 6: Should children be sent to work? (Victorian Topic) Year 5: Do Aliens exist? (Space Topic) Year 4: Should scientists stop exploring the polar regions? Year 3: Should foxes be classed as vermin? The children argued their points with energetically and persuasively. Children in Need 2019 On Friday 15th November, we will be raising money to support Children in Need. Children are asked to donate £1.00 and they can embrace the ‘Do Your Thing’ theme by wearing whatever they want to school on that day. Classes will take part in a series of surprise, fun tasks throughout the day...whenever the buzzer sounds! We will post as many of these tasks on Facebook throughout the day in the hope that our wonderful parents and carers will join in too!     Breakfast Club A reminder that our breakfast club runs daily in the school annexe from 7:45am to 8:45am. The cost is just £1.50/day. Thanks to National School Breakfast Programme in association with Magic Breakfast for their support

    Year 6 Maths Some of our year 6 children showed incredible resilience In class this week but completing this extremely complex problem using order of operations with fractions. (BODMAS). Can you give it ago?

    Anti Bullying Week It is our anti-bullying week w/c 11th November. This is an annual event when we focus on how to look after ourselves and the others around us. There will be lots of activities going on in school around the theme #BeKind. As always, if you have any questions about Bullying or our Anti Bullying policy, please contact Mrs Hodge or Mrs Atcha, our Anti Bullying leads. Mrs Leah Harrison is our designated Anti-Bullying Governor.

    Odd Socks Day

    On Wednesday we have our annual 'Wear Odd Socks Day' where children are invited to wear odd socks to promote the message of being proud of who they are, being accepting of one another and to celebrate being 'Unique'.

    Anti-Bullying Parent Drop-in Thursday 14th November We would like to invite parents/carers to an Anti-Bullying Drop-in in the school hall between 2:30 and 3:30pm to take a look at the amazing work the children have been doing around anti-bullying, along with work they do throughout the year to develop their Social, Health and Mental Wellbeing. You will have the opportunity to look at the Anti-Bullying Policy and talk to Mrs Atcha, one of our anti-bullying leads. We look forward to seeing you there, refreshments will be provided.

    The Three ‘B’s

    Our school values are ‘Be kind, Be curious, Be the best that you can be’. To raise awareness of this, the artist Elizabeth Emmens-Wilson has installed this fabulous artwork in the school hall for us to share with everyone.

    Poppy Appeal Once again, we are supporting the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal this year. Poppies and Poppy Appeal accessories are on sale in the school office.

    British Value Workshops ACIS are hosting workshops at school to help our families who are new arrivals to settle into their life in the UK. The next session will take place on Thursday 14th November at 1pm-3pm. If you feel this could help you please drop in.
