Human Performance Program
The goal of the human performance program is to promote continuous improvement in Nuclear Safety, Personnel Safety, and Competitive Stature by:Establishing a coherent strategic approach to improving human performance.
Standardizing expectations for workplace behaviors.
Establishing the organizational activities and processes to improve and maintain human performance.
Establishing on-going processes to improve and maintain human performance.
Promote human performance behaviors to identify and eliminate error-likely situations.
Reinforcing the value of defenses.
Promote a common human performance language and understanding.

Human Performance Education
In the pursuit of human performance excellence, Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station has created a dynamic learning environment in which trainees learn standard human performance practices.
The activities combine traditional classroom instruction with a human performance learning simulator where students learn to identify and manage error likely situations.
While performing hands-on tasks, trainees receive instruction and coaching from field personnel who practice human performance principles everyday.

Pre-outage Training Development
Pre-2003: Large group instruction-classroom industrial safety training
2003 (N1R17): Safety simulator-job sites with various industrial and radiological issues for identification and discussions-mitigate or eliminate hazards
2006 (N2R10): Human performance simulator-multiple stations, each covering a HU error prevention tool
2007 (N1R19): Four stations with key human performance areas
