Lo Stato settentrionale indiano del Punjab (regione di cinque fiumi) è una regione estremamente fertile, ideale per la coltivazione del grano; altre colture importanti sono il riso, il cotone, la canna da zucchero, il miglio perlato, il mais, l’orzo e frutta in genere. Il Punjab indiano rappresenta il 3% della produzione mondiale di queste colture, ovvero produce il 2% del cotone mondiale, il 2% del frumento e l'1% del riso di tutto il mondo. Lo stato produce quasi il 70% del cotone di migliore qualità in India. Circa 97 milioni di chilogrammi di filati e di 36,5 milioni di metri di stoffa sono statI prodotti in fabbriche tessili cotoniere del Punjab. Qui l’industria tessile è fortemente verticalizzata, coprendo il ciclo dalle materie prime ai prodotti finiti. Il fattore competitivo di questa regione è di essere il secondo più grande produttore indiano di cotone e filati melange, e il terzo principale produttore di filati sintetici.Ludhiana è la principale città industriale dello Stato, ed occupa una posizione fondamentale nello scenario industriale del Punjab e anche dell'India. The north Indian State of Punjab (five rivers region) is one of the most fertile regions on earth. The region is ideal for wheat growing; other important crops are rice, cotton, sugarcane, pearl millet, maize, barley and fruit. In worldwide terms, this represents 3% of the world’s production of these crops, so Indian Punjab produces 2% of the world’s cotton, 2% of its wheat and 1% of the world’s rice. The state produces nearly 70% of the best quality cotton in India. About 97 million kilograms of yarn and 36.5 million meters of cloth were produced in the cotton textile mills of Punjab. Punjab textile industry is highly verticalized, covering from raw material to finished products. Punjab competitive factor is being India’s second major producer of cotton and mélange yarns, and third major producer of synthetic yarns. Ludhiana is a leading industrial town of the State, occupying a vital position in the industrial scenario of Punjab and even India. It is famous for bicycle and bicycle components industries, ready-made garments, hosiery items, sewing machines and parts & machine tools. Ludhiana is considered a hub of textile manufacturers, being leading producer of woolen and acrylic knitwear, although it uses extensively both natural fibers (like cotton, silk, jute and wool) and artificial fibers (such as polyester, viscose, nylon, acrylic and blended fibers) to produce a wide range of fabrics, hosiery, knitwear and ready-made garments. The industry caters largely to the domestic market and it has been growing significantly in recent years as income levels among India’s middle class go up and fashion conscious young adult consumers increase.

Savio Macchine Tessili is present on the Indian market since 1991. Today through Savio India Ltd is placed in the Indian market as a textile machinery manufacturer as well as distributor of Savio products. Savio India is the manufacturing unit located in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. It was set up with an intention of providing the world class SAVIO products, specific to India’s textile market.In Ludhiana, being the nerve centre of North India Textile, where cluster of Textile units installed in and around,Savio decided to open its 2nd largest service station during 2009 at this location.Local engineers are housed hereto take care of erection and service need. Trident Yarn manufacturers both ring Spun and Open end Yarn out of cotton, synthetic and special fibres from its 395,088 spindles and 3,584 rotors spread in Punjab and Madhya Pradesh. All the plants are equipped with the latest machinery and technical know how. It started the journey with a production of 12 tons a day and today it has developed the capability to produce 265 MT/day and is serving all major segments of textile chain viz knitting, weaving, denim and towel. It offers an exclusive range of 100% Cotton yarn, blended yarn and variety of Value-added yarn for Indian and international Textile Markets.The plant is spread across 250 acres of land and divided into eight units, out of which five units are located at Punjab & three units at budni (M.P) with a combined capacity of 395,088 spindles and 3.584 rotors utilizing almost 100% capacity.

expansion ProjectTrident Group has committed a total investment of about rs. 3600 crores in setting up an integrated textile com-plex and expanding its yarn facilities at budni, Madhya Pradesh. The new facilities will be engaged in the ma-nufacturing of terry towels, sheeting, value added yarns and captive power plant. This expansion which is expected to be completed by 2014 will be one of the largest Integrated home Textile manufacturing facilities in the world. The group has targeted extensively increasing the production capacity of 529,536 spindles and 5,624 rotors. Trident would be able to increase its production capacity to 30 million pieces of towel/month, 3.6 million meters of sheeting/month, 12.000 tonnes of cotton & blended yarns/month and 120 MW of captive power generation.

La collaborazione di Savio con Trident Group inizia nei primi anni ‘90, quando la prima filatura del gruppo è stato istituita a Barnala. L'iconica roccatrice automatica Savio Espero si prese cura delle esigenze di roccatura di questa unità per un totale di 6 macchine installate. L’unità di filatura è stata ampliata a partire dal 1995, e tutte le sue 11 macchine roccatrici sono state commissionate entro il 1997. Subito dopo il successo di questa filatura è arrivata la seconda unità, e Savio è diventato parte integrante di questo progetto, completato nel 1999, con un totale di 13 roccatrici Espero installate in esso.

Savio’s association with Trident Group started way back in early 1990s, when the first spinning mill of the group was set up in barnala. The iconic Savio automatic cone winder model espero took care of the winding needs of this unit, which was commissioned with six winders. The unit was expanded from 1995 onwards, and all its 11 winders were commissioned by 1997. Soon after the success of this mill came the second unit, and Savio espero became integral part of this unit which was completed in 1999, with a total 13 espero winders installed therein.

Durante questo periodo, Trident avviò il suo impianto di asciugamani in spugna e installò 12 ritorcitoi modello Savio Geminis di 360 fusi cadauno. L'espansione dello stabilimento ha avuto luogo nel 2004, Savio ha fornito 15 ritorcitoi Geminis S di 200 fusi ciascuno. During this period, Trident started its terry towel plant and installed Savio TFO model Geminis 12 machines of 360 spindles each. The expansion of the plant took place in 2004, and Savio supplied 15 TFO model Geminis S of 200 spindles each. Another five Geminis S model machines of identical specification were added during 2006. Trident continued its expansion in spinning and in the process installed two Orion L, the first fully electronic winder, in its unit 2 in 2004.

La quarta generazione di roccatrici automatiche modello Polar ha fatto il suo ingresso nel 2007, e non si è più tornati indietro. The fourth generation automatic cone winder model Polar made its entry in 2007, and there was no looking back.A total 22 such winders have been successfully installed till date, confirming the quality commitment of the Trident Group. During late 2010, Trident conceived its link winding project in barnala. Savio was associated with this prestigious project and installed 40 link winders of Polar/I-DLS model at this plant. At the new terry towel project of Trident at budni (MP) to be set up in 2013, Savio will be delivering 42 new generation of TFO model Sirius of 240 spindles each as well as another 13 at the barnala unit.The growth of Savio and Trident in India are interrelated. having sold its first winder during 1990, Savio delivered 15.669 winding heads in 2011This is indeed a remarkable achievement.
