Hoa Soft’s on-disk DBMS’s performance threshold was reached when TOPS’ automatic system-trading kicked in. Prop Desks had no choice but to place missed trades manually.

Hoa Soft was in need of a low cost, High Availability solution that would meet or exceed Oracle’s Real Application Cluster (RAC). No remedy was in sight.

Oracle’s high total cost of ownership (TCO) quickly disallowed it as a viable option.

Exacerbating Hoa Soft’s issues were system resource shortages in its server makeup. The on-disk DBMS drained any available CPU resources.
