World book day By Amelia, 5W

On Thursday the 7th of March, we had World Book Day. Everybody

got dressed up, even the teachers! After we paraded around the

MUGA, they chose a winner from each class who had the best

costume. In the Emmanuel Express team we love how everyone

makes a big effort on World Book Day and there are so many

original costumes. Turn to page 6 for all the winners and more

pictures!

The Champions League by Antoine, 6D

So far, the Champions League has been AMAZING.

Teams in Round 16:

Man United have been doing so well after coming through with

their victories, and nobody knows what could happen at this point.

Against PSG, Man United won with a narrow victory of 3-3

aggregate and they won on away games.

Barcelona have pushed through with all their might to get as far as

they can and it has been coming in handy with a 5-1 win against

Lyon.

Quarter Finals:

The teams in the quarter finals of the

Champions league are Ajax, Barcelona,

Juventus, Liverpool, Man City, Man

United, Porto and Tottenham H.

It has been confirmed who each team will play, and the teams are:

Man U vs Barcelona Tottenham vs Man City

Porto vs Liverpool Juventus vs Ajax

Why I think Ronaldo is the best football

player by Tommaso, 2T

Rooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooonaldo!!! My favourite player is

Ronaldo.

Ronaldo now plays for Juventus,

who are my favourite team. We

are in the Champions League

but we need to beat Ajax to

stay in. We need to win it!

I think Ronaldo is cool

because he has scored 800

goals in his career - better than Messi who has scored 787!

Dragons by Alexander in 3w

Dragons were one of the scariest things in the olden times because they breathed fire and

destroyed things.

1. The word dragon comes from the Greek word Draconta. The Greeks saw dragons as beasts that

guarded valuable items. In fact, many cultures depict dragons

as hoarding treasure.

2. Ancient Greeks and Sumerians spoke of giant “flying

serpents” in their scrolls and lectures. Dragons are depicted as

snake- or reptile-like.

3. The Komodo dragon is a type of monitor lizard, which is

aggressive and deadly. They can be 10 feet long and use toxic

bacteria in their mouths to wound their prey.

4. Dragons have never had a particular personality. This is

unlike the unicorn, which is always known to be a majestic, peaceful creature. The dragon is

sometimes regal and protective. Other times it is deadly and destructive.

5. In most cultures, the dragon is always rare. There are never very many of them.

Why I love Manchester United by Rayaan 6D

Before Manchester United were called Man Utd, their name was Newton Heath. We have won the

second division in 1908 and were the favourites in their community and possibly in the league by

then. We won our first champions league in 1968. At the time we were probably the form team in

Europe until such talented players joined epic teams such as Neymar, Messi and of course Cristiano

Ronaldo. We started to chase our next Premiere League title but Manchester City won by one point.

Anyway, we have achieved an outstanding 66 cups so far – more trophies than any other club in

English football. We are in the Champions League quarter Finals and the Reds are facing FC

Barcelona. In my opinion, I think Manchester United could beat Barcelona and probably win the

Champions League as long as we do not get any injured players. I hope possibly we could get some

more cups and possibly be the best team

in the world. The best moment of Man

Utd was when we won the 1999 final

against Bayern Munich and we beat them

2-1. The goals were from Solskajaer and

Sheringham.

On Thursday 7th March, we had World Book Day. All of us changed into

different book characters such as ladybirds, Mad-Eye Moody, Doctor

Octopus and Peter Pan’s shadow. The teachers even got dressed up!

Global Goals Here are my top 10 goals! By Miku, 6Mc

In 2015, world leaders agreed to 17 global goals

for a better world by 2030. These goals are going

to help our world become a better place.

Each goal

NO.1 NO POVERTY

Around 600 million people in the world live in poverty. This means that many people

live on less than 94p a day. They cannot afford things that we would take for granted.

NO.2 ZERO HUNGER

11.3% of the world’s population live in hunger. However, there is enough food to go

around everyone. Some people think that the reason people are hungry is because

there are too many people in the world but that is wrong. It is just that some people

have too much and some people have too little.

NO.3 GOOD HEALTH AND

WELL-BEING

Many people in other countries

are not getting the proper

medical attention they need in

order to live a good, healthy

life. One study in 2009 found

45,000 people died every year

from lack of medical attention.

NO.4 QUALITY EDUCATION Many children in Africa and other less fortunate countries

struggle to make it to school because they do not have enough money, live too far

away or are needed to help their family members with work.

NO.5 GENDER EQUALITY

This goal aims to tackle all violence and discrimination against women and girls. Did

you know that women were not allowed to drive in Saudi Arabia until 24th June 2018?

NO.6 CLEAN WATER AND SANITATION

One in three people live without sanitation. This is causing many diseases and

sometimes people pass away at the end of it. If we provide affordable equipment and

education in hygiene practices, we help people who inhabit hot climates to get the

right amount water to live their lives just like ours.

NO.7 AFFORDABLE AND CLEAN ENERGY

One of the main aims for this goal is to give universal access to modern energy by

2030. Another one of their targets is to upgrade and expand energy services for

evolving countries.

NO.8 DECENT WORK AND ECONOMIC GROWTH

Often in the news you will find many articles promoting the end of modern slavery

and child labour. Many people are hoping that by 2025 they will end the recruitment

and use of child soldiers and child labour in all of its forms.

NO.9 INDUSTRY, INNOVATION AND INFRASTRUCTURE

It is all about building the MOST sustainable future for everyone around the world. As

countries build cities or develop economically, Global Goal 9 is here to make sure

that this happens in a socially and environmentally responsible way.

NO.10 REDUCED INEQUALITY

Income inequality is a global problem. Some people do not treat people as fairly as

they should because of their gender. Sometimes people are paid less just because

they are a woman or a man.

We are working towards these first 10 goals. Please help the world by doing every

little bit you can to help the planet.

Cricket World Cup by Julius, 6Mc

The cricket world cup kicks off on the 30th

of May and the countries it will consist of

are as follows: India, Pakistan, New

Zealand, West Indies, England,

Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka.

I think that England, Australia and India

will do very well. I hope you enjoy it!

Top 3 West Hampstead

Restaurants/takeaways by Leo, 4W

You may wonder what good restaurants or takeaways are here in West

Hampstead….well, look at my top 3 Restaurants here.

1. Bella Luna

Bella Luna is a modern restaurant located less than a 3-

minute walk from West Hampstead tube station.

At Bella Luna restaurant, you can enjoy lunch or a candle lit dinner. The

friendly staff, Italian artefacts and soft music create a lovely atmosphere in

the evenings, making Bella Luna the perfect place to relax, unwind and enjoy

real Italian food. I went there with my grandma recently and I had

Napolitano and tiramisu. The food is great.

2. Gourmet Burger Kitchen

Gourmet Burger Kitchen is near our school. The interior is

amazing, they have scrabble blocks! I went there a few

weeks ago and I had a cheeseburger and an Oreo

milkshake. It was very yummy but the milkshake was too

big.

3. Feng Sushi

Many of the Emmanuel Express team like

Feng Sushi (although sushi is not one of my

favourite foods so it isn’t my favourite

choice). I usually have miso soup but last

time I went, I had chicken and rice though

the edamame had salt on. Overall, it was

very nice.

Gaming: Work at a Pizza Palace by Aidan 5W

‘Work at a Pizza Palace’ is a game which involves role-play to keep a

pizza restaurant and delivery service in action. Each server has a

manager who makes sure that the supplies are full, the orders are on

time and if there are really, good players then the manager can hand

out bonuses!

I will now list the jobs you can

do: Supplier, Cook, Cashier, Pizza

Boxer, Delivery and Manager or if you want, you can be

unemployed and live in the neighbourhood! However, if you

like to party then you can teleport to the party

neighbourhood. Sometimes though, you are teleported to

a ghostly town with nobody in it…. it is up to you to

discover more! As well as exploring, you can also decorate

your house to style it to your liking, get pets, and have

parties. You can also hold things, drive in cars and trucks,

and even find a desert island that is nearly uninhabited.

With this page, you can fold it into quarters so that when it folds together,

it looks like an egg, but then you can open it up to reveal the baby chick!

Hamsters by Aidan 5W

Hamsters are a rodent. Hamsters were first discovered in Syria.

They are sooo cute! Hamsters like to eat mealworms, blueberries,

apple, hamster food, and sometimes even crackers! Hamsters

like to live in a big playpen full of straw and sawdust. If you get a

Hamster, be sure to cuddle it often as it has very soft fur. The

types of hamsters are Winter White,

Robrofski and Syrian. If you get two

hamsters then you might see them

snuggling up in a house

They are so adorable!

Amazing cars By Aidan, 5W

Here are some fast cars such as a Bugatti Chiron,

a Lamborghini and a Chevrolet.

Now I will show you some 4by4s. They are

normally used for going off road, like on

mountains and to get across streams.

I rated Emmanuel Express 4 stars because I loved all the articles, but I think

there should be more comics and quizzes.
