President’s Message
As summer nears the end and the fall temperatures creep in, I hope everyone has thoroughly
enjoyed the past three months.
The show season is almost complete and it appears that numbers were up again in
Saskatchewan and at the National Show. A 20% increase in horse numbers was seen at this
year’s Canadian National Appaloosa Show.
Congratulations to all of the National Show title winners and to the show committee for
another very successful CNAS. It was great to have five youth teams competing for the Youth
Team Championship and to have all of our Appaloosa neighbours south of the border join us.
This year the National Convention and AGM will be held again in High River, Alberta from
November 5 – 7. Everyone is invited to attend and we look forward to seeing you at this
year’s AGM. “Thank you” to Donna for planning the 61st
National Convention.
It’s hard to believe that the year is ¾ over. December 31st
will bring my second two year term
as President of the Appaloosa Horse Club of Canada to an end. It has been a pleasure and an
honour to have served in this role.
Until next time, keep your friends close and your “appys” closer.
ApHCC President,
Merv Veinot
*** Just a Reminder to All of You Sending in Your Registration Forms ***
Please be sure your papers are filled out properly. Ensure that the sire and dam,
registered Quarter Horse or ApHC Appaloosa, are listed with the Appaloosa
Horse Club of Canada, breeding and foaling dates are recorded and you have all
required signatures. Include four pictures of a clean foal, making sure you do
not cut off the ears and/or tail and that clearly show the feet.
All of this makes it so much faster and easier for our Registrar to do her job.
