I’m a 40-year-old aspiring Pin-Up Model. My character tends to be on the shy side when I meet new people, but once I get to know

you, I get comfortable, very comfortable.

I’ve been a model for 5 years. One of my influences and inspirations in becoming a Pin-Up Model was Betty Page.

She was a beautiful and strong willed woman that captured the era perfectly, but was definitely ahead of her time.

I come from a family that was living the rockabilly life. My father was a well-known tenner sax player in the bay area that played rockabilly music. Surrounded by parents that lived the lifestyle, I’ve always felt I was born in the wrong era. I am a classic rockabilly style Gal

that prefers to wear pedal pushers or pencil skirts with high heels.

What I dislike about being a Pin-Up Model, is the misconception of

some people when they hear “Pin-Up”. I take it a little personal, because I know that they expect it to be raunchy. Some women have made a living using the raunchy Pin-Up look, but that shouldn’t classify the industry. Classy is the direction I have gone in. It is

important that I can share my work with my children, if I can’t then I have crossed a line and shouldn’t do it.

My future plans as a model are to continue to support Mexabilly.

I was drawn to Mexabilly because, Phillip Perez explained to me that he wanted to keep the look of the Mexabilly Gals “Classy”.

Grease Hound, is like rockabilly meets psychobilly/horrobilly/greaser punkrock

and roll type of band. This trio is made up of Rikki Romero on lead vocals and his

Gretsch G6118T Anniversary Guitar, Seth Daniel Baker on his 1983 all Maple

Gibson Grabber Bass, and RUSS Murray holding down the rhythm on Drums.

They have been together for about three years, but have accomplished a lot

since. Finding their way on to HI-HO SILVER RECORDS out of Sonora

CA., Winning a Mamas Award in Modesto CA. for Best Rockabilly/Psychobilly

Band for 2015. They played the Xfest, Lucky Fest, Mexabilly Clothing Store

Grand Opening, The Summoning opening for The Koffin Kats, The Creep Show

and the Sawyer Family, among other awesome bands.

Sick ass band, very energetic performers, Rikki has some tight guitar solo riffs,

as well as sick vocal chops. Seth keeps the bass line tight, rips it up, when he’s

feeling the groove, and RUSS is the man on drums, I was amazed, he tears up

the drums and has some killer fills. If you haven’t seen this group live, you are

missing out, I encourage you to follow them on Facebook and check out their

next gigs. It shouldn’t be hard, they play everywhere, and all the time, for good

reason, GREAT BAND!!!

April 3rd 2016, great weather for the festivities. Let’s start off by saying that the

food was great. Carne Asada, Chicken, and Pork Tacos with rice, beans and

salsa. Then washed it all down with some Strawberry Lemonade, great stuff!

The mood was perfectly set by the band, Grease Hound. A mixture of Psychobilly

and Rockabilly, with their original music as well as covers. These guys played for

more than four hours, and stood around to shoot the shit with us after we closed.

Great musicians and a great group of guys.

The visual was set with a Gold 1958 Chevy Bel Air and four beautiful but very

unique Mexabilly Gals posing for photographs in their custom series Mexabilly

Red Tees, blue jeans, high heels and a flower in their hair. They interacted with

the customers by taking pictures and handing out Mexabilly Promotional Products

(Posters and Shop Rags).

We then gave out many prizes including a $50 gift certificate to our store,

Mexabilly shot glasses, Marilyn Monroe wine bottle, custom artwork from Grease

Hound Lead Singer, body piercing gift certificates, $50 gift certificate to The

Cheese Cake Factory and a signed Poster of the Mexabilly window art. A lot of

happy winners that day.

We had a stream of customers throughout the day, nothing but good, positive

comments about our grand opening and our store.

It’s mind blowing to see the support we have received since opening the store.

We have had customers from, Monterey CA., Fresno CA., Salinas CA, Union City

CA., Santa Cruz CA., Fremont CA., San Francisco CA., Modesto CA.,

Sacramento CA., Phoenix AZ., and the craziest of all was a couple touring the

states, checking us off their bucket list, all the way from Amsterdam. WOW, very

humbling and honored. Oh, last but not least, I can’t forget about the local San

Jose supporters. Thanks to all our customers for making us a success.

Rustic Alley Art Show is a venue hosted, promoted, and produced by Mexabilly. To give our

support to the Rockabilly Art Community, we will Spotlight a new artist every month. One of

our goals is to bring exposure to Rockabilly Artists in an art show meet and greet setting.

This will give the Artist a platform to answer questions about their art, network and sell

their pieces to a crowd that collects and enjoys Rockabilly Style Art as well as those new to

the scene looking for their first piece to start their collection.

Another goal is to bring more Rockabilly Culture to San Jose California. In conjunction with

Mexabilly Clothing Store, we feel that Rustic Alley is a good opportunity for our community to

experience a fun, inspiring and safe environment for likeminded people to gather and enjoy

the evolution of the 50’s.

We are currently looking for Artist (all forms of visual art) to fill upcoming venues. If you are

Mexabilly and Rustic Alley Art Show are proud to present a local San Jose California Artist, Psycho Betty, for our first art showcase venue. Come out to meet and support her on Saturday May 21st 2016, at 8pm to 10 pm. We will be providing refreshments (while supplies last).

Psycho Betty started pursuing art in High School, but out of necessity she started making custom art for herself because she could not find anyone making the style she was looking for. She found that people wanted the same things she was producing, so it turned into a

business, selling her custom art for over fifteen years now.

Psycho Betty has a variety of art, from jewelry, jewelry boxes, bags,

candles, paintings, and sculptures. Some of her favorite pieces to

paint, are by far the most controversial “the Guadalupe, Day of The

Dead Statues”. A lot of people see the Virgin Mary as a very

religious figure, but she explained that her intension is to give the

figures a symbolization of the Day of the Dead Mexican culture,

a meaning of rebirth, to remember the ones who have passed.
