DAY 1: FLY OVERNIGHT TO INDIA

DAY 2: MUMBAI– Meet your Tour Director at the airport in Mumbai.

DAY 3: MUMBAI | PUNE– Take an expertly guided tour of Mumbai: Gateway of India;

Hanging gardens; Malabar Hills; Dhobi Gat; Marine Drive; Gandhi Memorial Museum; Jain Temple.

– Travel to Sangam World Centre in Pune.

DAY 4: SANGAM WORLD CENTRE Visit Sangam World Centre in Pune. The only WAGGGS Centre in the Asia Pacific Region, Sangam offers a unique opportunity to explore Indian culture by meeting neighbors, visiting local non-profit organizations and shopping in Pune’s colorful markets.

DAY 5: SANGAM WORLD CENTRE

Spend time at Sangam World Centre.

DAY 6: DELHI– Fly to Delhi, an intriguing city where traditional and colonial history

create a rich, modern culture all its own.

DAY 7: DELHI– Take a guided tour of Old Delhi.– Visit Jama Masjid, one of India’s largest mosques.– Visit Rajghat, the site of Mahatma Ghandi’s cremation after his

1948 assassination.– Visit Chandni Chowk Bazaar.

DAY 8: DELHI | JAIPUR– Take a guided tour of New Delhi’s tree-lined streets and orderly

colonial buildings.– Visit Humayun’s Tomb, which predates the Taj Mahal.– Visit Dilli Haat, a lively outdoor marketplace where bargaining is

the name of the game.– See Qutab Minar.– Travel to Jaipur, known as the Pink City because much of the old

quarter was once painted red, the Hindu color of hospitality. – Visit a Jaipur bazaar.

DAY 9: JAIPUR– Visit the Amber Fort, a noted example of Rajput architecture.– Take a guided tour of Jaipur.– Visit City Palace, the principal residence of the maharajas.– Visit Jantar Mantar, an open-air observatory built in 1728, whose

crown—its nooks and crannies provided places for women of the court to observe the busy streets below.

– In the evening, ride through the bazaars of Jaipur on a cycle-rickshaw and shop for souvenirs.

EF Tours for Girl Scouts gives girls the confidence to work toward a significant goal and the courage to try

new things while traveling. They return with character and want to make their world a better place.

TOP THREE THINGS I WILL SEE, DO, TRY OR EXPLORE

DAY 10: AGRA– Transfer to Agra via Fatehpur Sikri.– Visit the Taj Mahal. Among Agra’s many fine examples of Mughal

architecture, the Taj Mahal is without doubt the most fascinating. Built in an Islamic theme to represent paradise, the Taj Mahal was created by Shah Jahan as an eternal symbol of love for his favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal (“Jewel of the Palace”), who died during childbirth. Be amazed by this marble structure adorned with precious stones brought in from around the world, including jade, crystal, mother-of-pearl, lapis and turquoise. The building appears to change color depending on the time of the day. Construction began in 1632, the year after Mumtaz Mahal died, and nearly 20,000 laborers completed the Taj Mahal in 1653.

– Visit Agra Fort.

DAY 11: DEPART FOR HOME– Return to Delhi.– Board your overnight flight home.

DAY 12: ARRIVE HOME
