• Bharti Foundation

– Bharti Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Bharti Group Companies.

– The prime objective is to bridge the existing education divide and make quality education accessible to underprivileged children in rural India.

– The Foundation aims to help underprivileged children and young people of our country realize their potential.

• Satya Bharti School Program

– The Satya Bharti School Program is the flagship program of Bharti Foundation.

– It aims to deliver free quality education to underprivileged children, with special focus on the girl child across rural India.

– Present Operational Status:

• Number of Schools Operational: 254

• States of Operation: Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh & Tamil Nadu

• Number of Students Enrolled: Over 38,000

About the Community

• Geographical Location: It is established in village Dand, Amer in dist.- Jaipur Raj

• Cultural Background: Mostly people belong to ST category and does agriculture/ labor work.

• Role of Satya Bharti School in the Village: The of Satya Bharti School is as a Model School of the village, It’s a learning temple.

• Participation in ‘Design for Giving’ School Contest: School participated in Design for Giving for ‘right to information’

We ‘Felt’:

• Mostly people of the village are illiterate and does not know their rights. There are many Govt. schemes running in the village but people are not aware and they are not getting benefited from the scheme

• Mostly people heard about the right to information but they does not know how to apply.

• People need to know after doing work in NREGA that how much payment they will get but generally they gets less amount. When they tried to know the matter, false information given to them by the officers.

• Their legal work takes more time because nobody take interest to complete his/her work.

We ‘Imagined’:

Students decide to organize a work shop in school to aware the villagers about right to information. There were so many question answers taken place in the workshop.

Impact on Community:

• After the workshop and rally the people realize that they have so many rights and now they started to seek the information that they need to know.

• Many villagers taking the information from different departments.

• Every community got a weapon to get informed about what scheme came to village and how could we got benifited.

• Students referring the consumer right books to be aware about it.

• When the students are helping the villagers they are also building their knowledge through transmission of right to information.

• The students meet with the village sarpunch and ward members regarding the issues that were discussed in workshops.

• sarpunch and local leaders also appreciated the efforts done by the students and school staff and committed to help the villagers in getting the information that they want.

• New generation is getting forward and advanced to use their rights.

• Hamne suchna ka adhikar ke bare main suna tha lekin hum kaise use upyog kar sakte hai ye pata nahi tha. Mr. Saduram (Community member)

• Aaj se hum suchan ke adhikar ka prayog jarur karenge Mr. Babulal meena• Hum is adhikar ke bare main village ke sabhi logon ko batayenge
