“Follow the student rights Make their future bright”

We tried to bring change by changing the way of students life. We played the role of an extinguisher for realizing their right to education and other fundamental rights. We used children for improvement of students condition and getting their rights what they deserve.We got success to sending five students back to school making use of their right to education. Now they have beautiful smiles on their faces.We had meetings with students and the Principals of other schoolsAnd spread awareness through campaigns in village and we got a miracle change.

Population of Village: 5,500 approx.known as harsh languages , misbehavior, using stick & bad language with students. almost every student suffering with this problems.No interest to know what is the right of students & innocent children.No interest in education as village energies are diverted towards settling scores. A glimpse of success.

The way of success

After thousands attempt illiteracy still lies somewhere. Having seen this our students of Satya Bharti School tried to find out the reasons. Very surprising it came out that only 80% Children goes to school others were not going to school because they are not aware of the education, not ready to get education, some were afraid by torture which was given in the school, using harsh languages in the school.They were totally unknown with ‘Students Right’.So our school’s children arrange a Big campaign and have decided to spread awareness among all students of village.‘It was a small candle but sufficient to spread knowledge’..Very positive result came out. Now people and children became aware about their rights. Now they are living a healthy and fearless life.

‘These were little steps towards huge botheration’

The students were not aware with their rights .The village schools were playing with their emotions .They were using stick & bad languages with students. The atmosphere of the school was not child friendly.Most of the students were not intrested for going to school because they were not feeling safe himself in the school premise.Some teachers were not attending their class seriously . Students were not gaining any thing from the school. They spent whole day in vain. We know that without knowing our right we can not get good education.

We imagine a campaign where we will have to aware student rights because to know their rights has been felt a need for students.Future of their children was taken as a bait to make them realize the folly of their actions.The language, tone & tenure of the campaign needs to be scrutinized at every step as any misstep may have caused more harm than benefit.

Classification of student rights:1.Exploitation by teacher.2.Child labour.

Study of the village1. Most of the teacher & Students wereNot aware for the students right.2. Children were doing work in their field from his/her tender age.3. Lack of earning..5. Conflicts between Leaders & stakeholders.6. Religious & influential persons respected by all.

1.Students were divided into teams.2.News from the T.V. & Newspaper motivated children for active participation in the campaign.3.The entire plan of seven days was discussed and made ready for implementation.

We started the campaign by organizing a rally on students right with different types of slogan . We met the students of other school , teachers & Principal of other school & considered them to follow students rights . We inspired them to focus on those children who were not getting education.

By road rallies, meeting with village head ,meeting with other school’s Principals, door to door interaction with community members & role plays . These activities left behind a deep impact to aware the children about their

rights.

24 Sept 2012.To start the campaign a rally was organized in the village.The rally contents were slogans on students rights & child labour.Through the rally students appealed to stop child labour & sought change in approach.The rally had 3 meeting points where huge gathering of people were addressed by the students.The rally gave us the start as the topic taken up was very emotional & no one before us has dared to talk against about student rights & child labour.Rest of the day was utilized in slogan writing.

25 SeptemberA meeting with the Principal of Gandhi Vichar Pracharak Inter College was done to apprise them of our mission & her help was also requested.Students also met with Veer Pratap press reporter of Rashtriya Sahara to seek his help & utilize his influence to foster help.These two peoples appreciated our efforts & assured full support.26SeptemberEach team was assigned to task to meet people at their homes & our idea of student r ights was shared with students and their parents.We were surprised to f ind a majority of peoples were in favour of student r ights but their lack of knowledge & suspicion of each other was holding them..Community peoples were also invited to our school to ask them their suggestions.

27 September 2012It shows that children of our school really want change in friendly manner.A role play completely based on student rights was conducted. Many villagers came to see this role play .They were very inspired after seeing the role play. They have decided that now they will go and meet with Principal in the school to discuss about the rights and future of their ward.A meeting was also organized by the Principal of Satya Bharti School Kurrian kalan in which peoples shared lots of ideas, that what can we done in favor of student rights .Which was very effective.

28 Sept 2012.To further our campaign, Nukkad Natak titled ‘Follow the student rights & Make their future bright ’ was organized at the center of village .The play was highlighted to focus on lack of innocence and the coordination among them in the schools .The main character Ramu was tortured by his rude teacher with all this & he wants change in behavior of teacher but he faced many problems .Finally he decided that he will take the help of other school’s students.He invited the other school students in his school and met with them also shared his problem then all students talked to the staff members & Principal and forced them to stop torturing & change their teaching method.

29 September 12Finally Result Came Out Student Rights committee:- Our efforts & intensive campaigning started showing results, as Sarpanch from adjoining Village Palhora organized a meeting of villagers & announced the formation of a Student Rights Committee, which will monitor the relations between Students eacher to promote harmony.A resolution was passed by the Panchayat that Teacher will not use stick & harsh language with students.Teacher must try to solve their problems mutually/peacefully not by punishment. No man handling in the school.

Luck smiled on us & we were able to bring together those children who were not going to school.It is a well known fact that students wants their right and freedom, but who will come forward, It was a concern and we took the initiative.Modern technique of teaching & communication with each other provided weight to what we were talking.Member of Zila Panchayat Mr.Rakesh Gautam was very helpful as he contributed with his time & data & his presence gave us the strength.We brought forward the concern of parents about their children ’s future & presentation of a horrible future, if same conditions prevails, then what will be the consequences that we made them realize. The biggest achievement that we can consider is that we were able to melt the ice a bit & have laid out a strong foundation for highly educated and bright future for kids tomorrow.
