One that troubles most is Unhygienic practices.

Discussion

Further to understand this problem

we discussed various measures :

1. Proper usage of dustbin.

2.Hygienic usage of the toilet.

3. Proper usage of hand towel while sneezing and coughing.

4. Washing hands before the intake of food.

Among all these problems, toilet hygiene is the most

important one.

•Hence our concern falls on the proper maintenance of hygienic atmosphere.

We visited the toilets and noticed the following problems.

Spitting & playing inside the toilet. Avoidance of washing hands after urination and defecation. Scribbling on the walls. Splashing the dirty water on each other .

Step 2: Imagine

We discussed with our mentor teacher. Many ideas were suggested for rectifying:

Creating awareness.

Seeking the guidelines of experts.

Collection of cleaning materials.

Under the guidance of mentor teacher and fellow students, remedial measurerswere carried out.

Step 3: DoWe organized an

awareness programme for the fellow students and gave them tips in nurturing SPIC & SPAN atmosphere in the lavatory.

before and after use.Disinfection of toilets to control

the spread of diseases. “Prevention is better than

cure”. Keeping ourselves clean, prevents many diseases .

The nurse gave us an insight into different problems caused due to the unhygienic environment

This session was very useful to us as it gave a clear idea about sanitation and its benefits.

We also had a one-to-one discussion with the nurse which helped us to improve our hygienic habits.
