R. N. Raikar Conference Series

Mr. R. N. Raikar was the unfading light showing path and direction to the India Chapter of American Concrete Institute (ICACI). From its inception in 1979, till his untimely departure on 8th March 2008, his untiring efforts catapulted ICACI into a national body for concrete excellence. Under his able leadership ICACI won several ‘Excellent Chapter Awards’ from parent body ACI – a feat it continues to achieve to date.

The ACI in its centennial year conferred on him the highest individual honour of being an ‘Honorary Member’ of the Institute in recognition of his service to the concrete industry. As a tribute to his legacy, the R. N. Raikar conference series aim to salute global concrete icons of Indian origin. Prof. Surendra Shah, Prof. P. A. M. Basheer and Prof. Nemkumar Banthia have been felicitated at this prestigious platform over the years.Mr. R N Raikar

Invitation to Participate

We are pleased to invite you to the 3rd R. N. Raikar Memorial International Conference. The mission is to introduce the participants to cutting-edge technologies in the field of concrete and concrete construction and to facilitate technology transfer in appropriate areas. For the first time ever the Government of Canada will support and partner with this historic initiative featuring a galaxy of global and Indian experts. Two towering personalities, Prof. Ravindra Gettu and Prof. Venkatesh Kodur will be felicitated by convening an international symposium in their honour.

ACI is graciously co-hosting this international event and 19 international technical bodies have offered their support.

Technical papers submitted by various participating countries at the 2nd R. N. Raikar Conference were evaluated by a worldwide editorial board for inclusion in the prestigious International Journal of Construction & Building Materials (UK) and Alconpat Revista. For this conference, ICACI is endeavouring to repeat this unique feature which now includes Journal of Cement and Concrete Composites and Alconpat Revista.

Conference Co-chairs – Mr. M A Jacob and Mr. Umesh Magar and Conference Mentors – Prof. Surendra Shah, Prof. Mohan Malhotra, Prof. P.A.M. Basheer and Prof. Nemkumar Banthia join us in inviting you to this technical extravaganza.
