Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are the premier institutes of
Engineering and Technology Education in India.
IIT alumni have achieved international recognition, success and leadership in business, entrepreneurship,
innovative science, engineering excellence and community service.
The first generation of IITs was created as institutes of National Importance in the 1950s and 1960s. Their strong impact has led to the formation of new IITs. This expansion to sixteen IITs will further enhance the impact of IITs and IITians.
IIT Alumni Victoria was established as an Incorporated Association in 2010.
Our aims
Promote professional networking with business, academia and government
Strengthen business, academic and government relationships between Australia and India
Establish and enhance the IIT brand in Australia
Promote and assist the professional development and welfare of our members
Facilitate social interactions between members

IIT Alumni are committed to enriching Australia’s well-being and future through the expertise of our members. Our
activities range from facilitating excellence in technology and entrepreneurship which benefit the community and
Australia to mentoring new and recently arrived migrants and students.
Our achievements
Our members contribute in important and leadership roles in industry, academia and government in engineering and technology, research and development, commerce and community service.
Facilitated and encouraged entrepreneurship through workshops, networking events and mentoring.
Held lectures and presentations by distinguished scientists and opinion leaders.
Sponsored events such as the participation of IIT-Roorkee in the 2011 Formula SAE car competition.
