INDICATEAn interactive cloud-based tool usable by a variety of stakeholders for the dynamic energy assessment of multiple entities in urban areas

Retro-FittingThe Casala Living Laboratory consists of real time energy usage data gathered from 16 apartments occupied by older residents in Great Northern Haven, 11 local authority homes in Muirhevena Mór, O’Fiaich School, a secondary school located beside DKIT and DKIT campus itself. All of this data is gathered into a cloud based data aggregation platform from where it is processed and analyzed.

Partner Focus: DKITDKIT are responsible for the Demonstration and Validation of the tools developed in the INDICATE project. In order to do this, DKIT will use a combination of user testing of the software tools and validation using real-time energy usage data gathered from the CASALA Living Laboratory. For additional information ob DKIT’s role, visit the INDICATE website: http://www.indicate-smartcities.eu/

VCM Import and Export ArchitectureThis deliverable investigates the architecture format required to link all parts of the Virtual City Model together, including software components, analysis algorithms, and the Urban Indicators. As a result, the INDICATE team have determined that a new format, i3s, is the most suitable file format. This file format will need to be extended for the INDICATE project but will form a reliable import/export transport mechanism and is ideally suited to serving the cloud/streaming/automated modelling needs of the project. For progress updates on this component of the project, please visit the INDICATE website.

Development of a Dynamic Simulation Model for the Urban DevelopmentThis task is related to the background development work that is required to ensure that all aspects of the VCM fuse together seamlessly. Work is ongoing with specification documents which provide a breakdown of general requirements needed for the first phase of the development of the tool. These requirements include aspects such as the general workflow, database issues, and simulation aspects.
