ABOUT THE DESIGNER

INDIVIDUALITY AND ELEGANCE

Being a fashion designer requires a great deal of commitment

I grew up in a family surrounded and

engulfed by colors and fabrics as both my

grandmother and mother are seamstresses.

Beside my vocational studies, I acquired

most of my professionial knowledge from

them. Even today their words of advice still

define my concept on designing clothes.

I was raised in Tótkomlós, a rural town

where traditions are well preserved so my

fondness for folk motifs is rooted there. With

my own creations I try to emphasize the

importance of Hungarian traditions in a way

that they reflect current fashion trends as

well. Folk motifs represent value which

perfectly match the features of modern and

elegant style. As it is part of my family

inheritance, I truly believe that the harmony

of a dress is created by all the pieces

matching one another, which is still an

absolutely decisive principle to me. The

clean lines and unambiguous use of fabrics

and color composition characterize my work.

The fashion brand BY ME was founded by its

owner and designer Tünde Hrivnák 15 years

ago. The collections of BY ME combine the

exciting duality of tradition and novelty. The de-

signer’s apparel is decorated with the highly

popular Hungarian embroidery, the Hungarian

Kalocsa motifs and Matyó motifs, both of

which are rich in compositions. The exclusively

hand-made embroidery is made in Kalocsa and

Mezőkövesd, Hungary. The noble elegance

shown by the apparel truly preserves the beauty

and value of our traditions. The collections of BY

ME Spicy with its motifs from Kalocsa and BY ME

Matyó with its rich Matyó embroidery all

represent tradition, beauty and elegance on

a modern woman who prefers to dress

individually and elegantly even on weekdays.

Tünde Hrivnák, fashion designer and owner of BY ME

BEAUTY AND VALUE - STYLISH ELEGANCEThe collection of BY ME Spicy is created

influenced and inspired by the Hungarian

Kalocsa folk motifs. It is based on the framework

of the color combination of eternal fashion,

black-white-red symbolising permanence. High

quality fabrics, elaborate needlework and the

unique combination of materials are all used in

the making of my apparel. The hand-embroi-

dered Hungarian folk motifs representing

traditional values make the clothes specially

unique and elegant. Our goal is to adapt the

highly appreciated Hungarian folk motifs to be

used in latest fashion trends so that modern

women could wear them. The message of this

collection is to stress the importance of the

preservation of our cultural identity and values.

We recommend this for women who by wearing

these clothes want to show who they are and

where they come from.

Matyó

We recommend BY ME Matyó collection for

those ladies whose personality is matched by

this unique yet clean and classic lined

apparel. The heart of Matyó embroidery is the

red rose which is combined with more closed

round floral and leaf patterns. Our individually

designed clothes are mostly created in the

combination of red, burgundy, black, white and

dark blue. The authenticity of professional

hand embroidery. whose traditions we humbly

respect but its colors we reinvent, is guaranteed

by the Matyó Folk Art Society. Our embroidery

is always combined with fabrics of impeccable

quality. Matyó folklore is part of the World

Heritage.

OUR GOAL IS TO PRESERVE AUTHENTICITY
