Existing conditions
• Aged and inefficient heat generation, distribution, and terminal devices
• No mechanical air exchanges within building
• Higher than average utility costs
IndustrialHeating & Piping Co.
There are 2 projects:• #1 is the installation of a wood chip fired
boiler and accessories to be the primary heat source• Budgeted at $1.4 million
• #2 is to convert the steam system to a hot water system, and other energy improvements• Budgeted at $2.7 million
• Together they will provide a comfortable and energy efficient school environment
IndustrialHeating & Piping Co.
Bio mass project description
• Construct a new boiler house to accommodate the wood boiler and wood chip storage
• Install a 4.3 MMBTU wood chip boiler and new oil fired back up boiler
• Install thermal storage tank and roof top solar units for domestic water and heating water supplement
• Connect wood fired system to new building distribution system
IndustrialHeating & Piping Co.
Steam to hot water conversion project
• Replace both existing boilers with one oil fired hot water boiler
• Reuse as much existing piping as possible and replace as needed
• Replace univents and terminal device• Add fresh air systems with heat recovery• Rebuild exhaust fans and air handlers, café and gym
