About training Centre….

HPES has many centers in north India for summer training program

I have done my training from lucknow center .this center of hpes was in BABU

BANARSIDAS UNIVERSITY . I think this is the best center of HPES well furnished

lab and classrooms with the facility of good mentor and tech support staff who helped

in solving problems.

The environment of the training center was really good. There was a full air

conditioned class room where class lectures was taken by Mr. RAJEEV GUPTA

equipped with a projector and a white board. All the slides were demonstrated by the

projector .

MY PROJECT-

PROBLEM DEFINITION – DESING A PORTAL FOR VEHICLE SHARINGSYSTEM

Vehicle Sharing System is a model of Vehicle Rental where peopleshare vehicles for travelling on the same route. They are attractive

to company’s employees who have to visit different locations for

work .

Taxi/Travel sharing system will give a way to deal for employees of

Movement Based Company. This system is for helping Vindhyachal

people for sharing their travelling plans so that taxis for common

destination can be booked on share basis.

The principle of vehicle sharing is simple:

Individuals gain the benefits of private vehicle without the costs

and responsibilities of ownership.

Vehicle Sharing may be thought of as organized short-term

Vehicle rental.

Vehicle sharing refers to the shared use of a vehicle for a specific

journey, in particular for commuting to work, often by people

who each have a vehicle but travel together to save costs.

USER REQUIREMENTS

User Requirements Capture is a research exercise that is undertaken early in a

project lifecycle to establish and qualify the scope of the project. The aim of the

research is to understand the product from a user's perspective, and to establish

users' common needs and expectations. The user requirements capture is useful for

projects that have a lack of focus or to validate the existing project scope. The

research provides an independent user perspective when a project has been created

purely to fulfill a business need. The requirements capture findings are then used to

balance the business goals with the user needs to ensure the project is a success.

The user requirement capture project can include many different usability researchmethodologies including; surveys, structured and unstructured interviews, usability

tests, and competitor analysis .

Advantages:

The main advantages of a user requirements capture isthe saving of time and money by validating the scope of a

project against its users' needs and expectations before

any work begins. This in turn mitigates the risk of the

project launching and failing to meet its objectives

(increased online conversion, registrations, visits, etc.).

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTSFunctional Requirements:

• Users.

There are two types of user.

(i) Travellers- They are any employees of NTPC registered as

users with Information Services (IS) and they must be authenticated to access

any features of the system.

(ii) Administrator- In addition to being members of NTPC registered as

users with IS(and possible participants in vehicle sharing), these individuals

are authorized to carry out certain functions.

Work locations.

The system must contain a set of locations which are the official sites at

which Executives of NTPC work. With administrator authorisation, it

must be possible to add new work locations and delete existing work

locations if they are not currently involved in a share arrangement.

• Offering a share.

A user must be able to enter the offer of a share. This will consist of position with,in

company , contact information, a start location, a work location, the days of the week onwhich it is offered and the time of departure from the start location on the inward journey and

from the work location on the outward journey. Further, they must be able to indicate how

many seats are in the vehicle and how many are available. The offer must be associated with

the traveller’s registration ID.

•  Share deletion.

Travelers must be able to delete a share which they have offered. Deletion and

creation of a new offer is an acceptable way to modify what is offered (for example,

fewer spare seats when one is taken).

Establishing an arrangement.

An arrangement involves at least two travelers, a start location and a work

location. Any traveler must be able to add an arrangement to the system .

All travelers involved will then have access to details of the arrangement.

A new arrangement need have no association with a previously offered

share.

 Terminating an arrangement

A traveler must be able to view any arrangement in which they are

involved and may leave it at any time. When all travellers have left an

arrangement it is deemed to have ceased.

Page 11: Industrial Trianing Report

• Specification of locations.

When a user is required to specify a location this must be done in such a way that

the user can verify its correctness of the route.

• Recording a shared trip.

Any traveler in an arrangement must be able to add a trip, with its date, to an

arrangement. This records that the trip occurred and that they provided the vehicle.

Other parties must record agreement before the trip is considered shared.

• Arrangement management.

It must be possible to view completed trips, the shared mileage to date and the net

mileage one traveller has accepted from the other. Travellers must not be expected

to calculate their own mileages , given that locations have been specified.

• Administrative share deletion

With administrator authorisation it must be possible to delete any offered

share.

• Reporting

On the 15th of each month, a report for the previous month must be

produced for the NTPC administration. This will be based on the

assumption that all shared trips would otherwise have involved single

occupant vehicle. It will report the number of active arrangements; the

total number of travellers involved; the number of vehicle parkings saved

and the number of vehicle miles saved. At the same time, trip records for

the previous month will be archived to file and removed from the system.

Any user input to the reporting process will require administrator

authorization

Non-Functional Requirements:

The non-functional requirements include reliability issues,

accuracy of results, human-computer interface issues, and

constraints on the system implementation .

Performance Requirements

The following performance characteristics should be taken care

of while developing the system

 User friendliness

The system should be easy to learn and understand so

that new user can also use the system effectively,

without any difficulty.

Page 14: Industrial Trianing Report

User satisfaction

The system should meet user expectations

Response time The response time of all the operations should be low. This can be made

possible by careful programming.

Error handling

Response to user errors and the undesired situations should be taken care

of to ensure that the system operates without halting.

SafetyThe system should be able to avoid or tackle catastrophic behavior

Robustness The system should recover from undesired events without human

intervention

MY EXPERIENCE :

I enjoyed my training very well because the facilities there provided were

very good and my classroom guide mr. RAJEEV GUPTA taught us the

concept of programming very well also the way to tackle the problem of

programming .

Here I gain the knowledge with enjoyment .other tech support staff was so

supportive that we can get any information and knowledge or other needs

I am thankful to mr. Rajjev Gupta for his guidance and making aware of

the world of programming in real world and some aspects of industry and

needs of industry that a programmer or student must have to be a good

team member and worker in any organiztion .

I enjoyed my training we went to some historical places with my GLA

friends some of them were my project partner we worked very well as

team but few of us were very lazy so the load become unbalanced so four

of us worked very hard I am thankful to Ramendra and Raghvendra to

work hard to finish the project.

Main advantage of this training was that we came to know what actually

we do in industry or how we can handle the situation of any problem

this training helped me very much building my cofidence and gaining my

aim with then supportive teaching of mr. Rajeev Gupta.
