INFERENCE PREDICTIONI infer that the author is actually saying that people are really excited about this huge pearl. I also infer that news is traveling quickly about Kino finding the Pearl of the World.

Because I infer that everyone is finding out about this pearl and are getting excited about it, I predict that all the towns people are going to come to see Kino because they will want to see the pearl.
