QUICK FACTSDATOS BREVES

The goal of the Dual Language Program is for

students to develop cognitive and linguistic

abilities in two languages, in order for them to

become bilingual, biliterate, and bicultural.

El objetivo del programa de dos idiomas es que

los estudiantes desarrollen habilidades

cognitivas y lingüísticas en dos idiomas, para

que se conviertan en ser bilingües, bilingües y

biculturales.

The program is composed of two linguistic

groups: Spanish speaking students who accept

services, and other students who are committed

to participating as an enrichment program

based on space availability.

El programa se compone de dos grupos

lingüísticos: estudiantes que hablan español

primariamente que aceptan servicios y otros

estudiantes que se comprometen a participar

de acuerda a los espacios disponibles.

Teachers use the same curriculum as general

education classrooms with specific units of

study taught in Spanish, a bridge to English and

vise versa.

Los maestros utilizan el mismo plan de estudios

que las clases de educación general con

unidades específicas que se enseña en español,

un puente al inglés, y viceversa

Language Allocation

Students are only eligible to opt-in to Dual Language

Program in PK or Kinder.

Estudiantes que escogen a participar en el programa

de dos idiomas solo son eligible en PK or Kinder.

It takes students 5-7 years to acquire a new language,

therefore, it is essential to commit to the program until

completion.

Toma 5 a 7 años para adquirir un nuevo idioma, por eso

es essencial cometer al programa hasta su finalización.
