Darbar Shri Guru Ram Rai Ji Maharaj
Shri Guru Ram Rai Darbar Sahib is a 344 years
old Social, Religious and Philanthropic
Organization established by Shri Guru Ram Rai
ji, the eldest son of the seventh Guru of the
Sikh, Shri Har Rai ji. It dates back to 1676AD.
The city of Dehradun was christened so, when
Shri Guru Ram Rai Ji put up his "Dera"
(Settlement) in Doon Valley. Then "King of
Tehri" gifted the town of Dehradun (in its
original splendour, it was of 6 villages) to the
Guru. The rich heritage and golden history is
quite evident in the architectural splendour of
the Shri Darbar Sahib. Large number of
devotees from the country and abroad come
to pay their respect and obeisance.
The Jhanda fair, the largest fair of Northern
India is celebrated to commemorate the birth
anniversary of Shri Guru Ram Rai ji Maharaj. At
present Shri Mahant Devendra Dass Ji is the
tenth Shri Mahant in the sacred tradition of
Shri Darbar Sahib.
Shri Guru Ram Rai Education Mission
Shri Darbar Sahib has been involved in social and educational
activities right from its inception. In 1952, Shri Guru Ram Rai
Education Mission was established by Brahmaleen Shri Mahant
Indiresh Charan Dass Ji Maharaj to impart quality education to
all sections of the society, at a nominal cost. The mission is
committed to work for the upliftment of socially and
economically deprived masses of society. The organization is
fully devoted to societal and humanitarian activities.
SGRR Education Mission has been providing quality education
and health care to lakhs of people in North India. It has 125
schools and well- equipped 1500 bedded Multi Super Speciality
Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, Shri Guru Ram Rai Institute of
Medical and Health Sciences with 150 MBBS seats & 98 PG
(MD/MS) seats in all disciplines which makes it a centre of
excellence for medical education, SGRRIM&HS, College of
Nursing wherein the spiritual and biological aspects with
modern technology are integrated, School of Pharmaceutical
Sciences which is equipped with state of the art facilities to
undertake research in drug development and delivery, School
of Management with industry relevant academic inputs, School
of Computer Application and Information Technology intended
to provide a modern, industry oriented education in computer
application, School of Basic & Applied Sciences which deals
with advance Sciences such as Recombinant DNA technology,
Microbiology, Biotechnology, School of Agricultural Sciences.
SGRRIM&HS, College of Paramedical Sciences which is rated as
the best college in Uttarakhand for its infrastructure, lab
facilities and for the use of ultramodern equipments.

Shri Guru Ram Rai Darbar Sahib is a 346 year old, social,
religious and philanthropic organization established by Shri
Guru Ram Rai Ji Maharaj and has been involved in social
service since its inception. To keep pace with changing
world, Shri Guru Ram Rai Education Mission and Shri Guru
Ram Rai University were established in 1952 and 2017
respectively by the parent body of Shri Guru Rai Darbar
Sahib.
Its matter of great pride and satisfaction to note that, Shri
Guru Ram Rai Education has carved a niche for itself in the
field of Education, Medical Education and Health care
during its long journey of more than 70 years. Mission had
brought revolutionary changes in the institution of learning
by providing education to the underprivileged and girls,
thereby making enormous difference in the society.
Shri Guru Ram Rai University offers and all inclusive

has given me an opportunity to be a part of Shri Guru Ram
Rai University family as its Vice Chancellor. I feel extremely
happy to welcome the students coming from all parts of the
world , enrol l ing themselves in Undergraduate,
Postgraduate and Doctorate programmes with a vision to
get quality education which will nurture and support them
achieve their best. A strong believer and practitioner of the
dictum “Work is Worship”, SGRR University has been on
the path of delivering quality education by developing the
young human resources with ethical and moral values, while

Student Ready Programme
The Student READY (Rural Entrepreneurship Awareness
Development Yojana) programme incorporated by ICAR in
to recent B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture curriculum aims to
provide the students rural entrepreneurship awareness,
practical experience in real-life situation and creating
awareness to students about practical agriculture and allied
sciences. Under this program, SGRR University focuses on
grooming students outside the four corners of the
classroom. "Earn while you learn" program is a novel
initiative taken by the university to hone entrepreneurship
skills and inculcate the spirit of hard work and toil in them in
following areas of agriculture:
Mushroom Cultivation: A mushroom cultivation unit
located inside the campus is maintained by the students.
The School of Agricultural Sciences has a well equipped
mushroom production and training centre. The unit provide
hands-on training on the cultivation process of button
mushroom, Oyster mushroom and Milky mushroom. Under
the training following components like production of
mushroom spawn, preparation of compost, spawning,
casing and production of crop are covered. After getting
training students are flourishing their carrier in mushroom
cultivation as self entrepreneur.
Vegetable Garden: Many entrepreneurs are taking benefit
of the large demand in city markets to make quick profits by
farming vegetables. Around 30 different varieties of
vegetables are maintained by the students under guidance
of respective mentors in the university's agriculture field.
The harvested vegetables are marketed by the students to
gain the exposure of agricultural corporate sector.
Vermicomposting Unit: Vermicomposting is increasingly
being adopted by businesses institutions, farms and
municipalities for managing organic waste. The unit is one
of the leading choices of new start ups. Students are
involved from maintaining the raw materials input to the
final packed compost.
Organic Farming: In near future Uttarakhand state is going
to become the Second Organic State of India. In this regard
Shri Guru Ram Rai University has also taken an initiative to
convert more than 16 hectare farm area of Agriculture
department in to organic cultivation.
Seed Production: Seed production of agricultural crops is
going on for students to know the techniques of seed
production and testing. School of Agricultural Sciences is
also producing seeds of pulse crops in collaboration with
Pant Nagar University.
Apiculture: Apiculture or, Bee keeping is an economically
sustainable occupation, offering attractive avenues for self
employment with multiple benefits. At the same time,
enhanced pollination by the bees make a manifold increase
in the crop yield. Students are involved in conducting the
field work and extraction methodology of it.
Production of farm inputs such as vermicompost, bio-
pesticides, bio-fertilizers etc. required for organic farming is
managed by Agriculture students under supervision of
faculty members. We also train our student in other
important cultivation practices for organic farming.

Biopesticides are potential alternatives to synthetic pesticides. Plants and microorganisms are the major sources of
biopesticides due to high level of bioactive compounds available in them. The horticulture sector especially vegetable
production has been adversely affected by the use of synthetic pesticides. In order to handle this difficult situation, School of
Agricultural Sciences is playing key role in adopting & promoting organic farming to eliminate harmful synthetic chemical
pesticides from our crop ecosystem that will benefit students and as well as farmers for safe and healthy vegetable production
in future.

The Doon Valley Tea is known for its distinctive aroma and medicinal properties, once very popular in Europe and Central Asia.
Goodrich tea estate offers Green tea from its lush green garden spread over more than 303.5 ha in Vikas Nagar, Dehradun. It is
processed as natural tea by Good rich tea estate and promoted by School of Agricultural Sciences. Organic certification process
is under process as NPOP programme by USOCA. FSSAI State license is issued for manufacturing and processing of tea.

Collaborations & MOU'sIn pursuit of excellence, the constituent Institutes of SGRR
University have collaborated with various International and
National Universities and Institutes. These collaborations
expand the student experience, faculty growth,
contributions and impact of our research.
Collaborations with our foreign colleagues are essential to
the success of our global activities. Collaborations have
been formalized through Agreements/MOU's that have
documented our relationship with our partners and
expectation of each Institute.
The SGRR University has signed a MoU with Himalayan
University Consortium (HUC). The vision of the Himalayan
University Consortium (HUC) is to enhance collaboration
among the universities and to generate high-quality
knowledge, capacity, and skills for sustainable mountain
development in the Hindu Kush Himalayan region. The
Consortium was incepted by the participants of a
consultation workshop on
'Mountain-focused University Consortium Development
with Universities in the Greater Himalayan Region' held at
the International Centre for Integrated Mountain
Development (ICIMOD) in Kathmandu, Nepal. The moto of
the consortium is to construct a dynamic mountain
knowledge partnership among universities, ICIMOD, and
regional member country partners to promote research and
learning.

obtained from www.sgrru.ac.in or from the University on
payment of a prescribed fee (non refundable) in cash or
demand draft in favour of Shri Guru Ram Rai University, Patel
Nagar, Dehradun payable at Dehradun.
Candidates wishing to receive the application form through
post should send his/her request along with a prescribed fees.
Candidates are advised to carefully check their own eligibility
before applying for registration.
All information given in the form must be correct and complete.
Incorrect and misleading information is liable for cancellation of
admission at any stage.
Registration form duly completed must reach the University
(Admission Cell) on or before the date mentioned in Admission
Notice.
If applying for more than one course, a separate form for each
course has to be submitted duly filled.
Points to be noted
Student who fails to deposit the academic fee within given time
will cease to be a regular student of the University. However re-
admission can be granted on payment of Rs. 1000/- as re-
admission fee subject to full filling the other criteria of
University/AICTE/UGC/ PCI/INC/MCI whatever applicable.
Students seeking admission in hostel will have to apply at the
time of admission separately. Hostel will be allotted on first
come first serve basis. Annual fee and mess charges will have to
be deposited at the time of admission.
University without any prejudice reserves the right to change or
delete any information, fee structure etc without prior notice.
Any dispute will be subject to the jurisdiction of Dehradun
District Court only.
An Anti-Ragging undertaking has to be submitted by the
Parents/ Guardians of students seeking admission in any
programme of University.
General Information
DisciplineStudent's Grievance Redressal System: The University has
established a 'Student's Grievance Redressal Cell' which provides
friendly mechanism to the students to report their grievances and
the cell provides effective solution to the grievances as and when
they are reported. This promotes friendly environment in the
University by promoting Student-Student & Student- Staff
relations.
Internal Complaint Committee: To evolve a permanent
mechanism for the prevention and redressal of sexual harassment
cases and other acts of gender based violence at the University. This
committee ensure the implementation of the policy in letter and
spirit through proper reporting of the complaints and their follow-
up procedures. The committee create a secure physical and social
environment to deter any act of sexual harassment and to promote
a social and psychological environment to raise awareness on sexual
harassment in its various forms.
University Proctorial Board: In order to maintain a cordial
atmosphere in the University, the Proctorial Board has been set up
which is the highest disciplinary authority of the University. The
board helps students in solving any problems and also ensures that
disciplinary rules are properly followed.
Anti Ragging Committee: Ragging is criminal offence and lowers
the standards of education. In order to curb the menace of ragging,
the University has formulated an 'Anti Ragging Committee' which
ensures that the campus is ragging free & it generates a high level of
confidence with the new students & their parents & guardians.
Pride and sense of belongingness: All student will look upon
themselves with pride and sense of belongingness to the SGRRU
family with good conduct, discipline and maintain the decorum of
the university.
All students shall follow code of conduct of the University: Use of
alcoholic beverages, drugs, smoking, gambling possession of lethal
weapon, anti- social activity, theft, property damage are all strictly
forbidden in the campus of the university
Use of cell phone: Use of cell phone is strictly prohibited inside,
class rooms, library, laboratories, computer lab, language lab,
conference hall and during functions of the university.

Points to be noted
Student who fails to deposit the academic fee within given time
will cease to be a regular student of the University. However re-
admission can be granted on payment of Rs. 1000/- as re-
admission fee subject to full filling the other criteria of
University/AICTE/UGC/ PCI/INC/MCI whatever applicable.
Students seeking admission in hostel will have to apply at the
time of admission separately. Hostel will be allotted on first
come first serve basis. Annual fee and mess charges will have to
be deposited at the time of admission.

Any dispute will be subject to the jurisdiction of Dehradun

General Information
DisciplineStudent's Grievance Redressal System: The University has
established a 'Student's Grievance Redressal Cell' which provides
friendly mechanism to the students to report their grievances and
the cell provides effective solution to the grievances as and when
they are reported. This promotes friendly environment in the
University by promoting Student-Student & Student- Staff
relations.
Internal Complaint Committee: To evolve a permanent
mechanism for the prevention and redressal of sexual harassment
cases and other acts of gender based violence at the University. This
committee ensure the implementation of the policy in letter and
spirit through proper reporting of the complaints and their follow-
up procedures. The committee create a secure physical and social
environment to deter any act of sexual harassment and to promote
a social and psychological environment to raise awareness on sexual
harassment in its various forms.
University Proctorial Board: In order to maintain a cordial
atmosphere in the University, the Proctorial Board has been set up
which is the highest disciplinary authority of the University. The
board helps students in solving any problems and also ensures that
disciplinary rules are properly followed.
Anti Ragging Committee: Ragging is criminal offence and lowers
the standards of education. In order to curb the menace of ragging,
the University has formulated an 'Anti Ragging Committee' which
ensures that the campus is ragging free & it generates a high level of
confidence with the new students & their parents & guardians.
Pride and sense of belongingness: All student will look upon
themselves with pride and sense of belongingness to the SGRRU
family with good conduct, discipline and maintain the decorum of
the university.
All students shall follow code of conduct of the University: Use of
alcoholic beverages, drugs, smoking, gambling possession of lethal
