BIHBM COURSE AND COURSE STRUCTUREEarly in 1999, Time magazine ran a cover story highlighting how the world had entered a golden age of travel and tourism. It is estimated that the number of international travellers are more than 760 millions and the count is still rising. The grown of tourism is closely related to the ease and speed of travel, economic growth and development in India and the world. Besides changing social trends and growing affluence have given people more leisure and money to travel. This is why tourism is the world’s single largest industry. The Hotel & Catering Industry, formally classified as the hospitality industry is a major component of travel industry. Ongoing boom in travel, therefore, spells equally golden times for the Hotel & Catering Industry. In fact the Hotel Industry is the fastest growing industry in the world and for India, it is a valuable source of foreign exchange.

Hotels are increasingly being used for social and family events and occasions. Due to lack of space, time and often the inclination, people have started extensively using the catering services of hotels. Be it your child’s birthday party or your daughter’s wedding, a business conference or a seminar you can conveniently leave all the arrangements to a hotel and sit back and enjoy the party. As the demand for trained and qualified people is much below the supply, you can be assured of a bright career in the hotel industry.
