A little history…The district was created in LUNAHUANA time of independence as "La

Villa de Lunahuana" by Supreme Decree of August 4, 1821, by General José de San Martín. Its capital LUNAHUANA was declared in

1994 tourist and cultural capital of the province of Cañete by President Alberto Fujimori.
