TRANSCRIPT

With a reasonable result from Dorricott likely to be enough to secure the title, it was down to Kameron Khan and Ben Graham to fight over 2nd. Graham had a few points to make up, but starting the final from the front row would give him a good shot.

Heat 1 Alexander Dorricott got off to

a good start from pole

leaving Matteo Strathmann

and Zach Walters behind in

the fight for 2nd. Mikey

Gleeson was making good

progress through the field

from 7th to sit in 4th by the end

of a slippery lap 1. Walters

grabbed 2nd from Strathmann

on lap 2 and got his head

down in the pursuit of leader

Dorricott. Connor Brown was

challenging Gleeson for 4th,

nipping ahead on lap 3, but

Gleeson came back at him

to regain the position by the

end of the lap through turns 4

and 5. Walters had left

Strathmann behind in 3rd, but

was not closing on Dorricott

who had the race under

control from the front. Brown

and Gleeson had caught

Strathmann on the final lap to

make it a three-way fight for

3rd with Gleeson getting

ahead through turns 2 and 3

using a bit of contact

resulting in a penalty, but

Dorricott took the win from

Walters, Gleeson, Strathmann

and Brown.

Heat 2

Finley Ahmad-Hambling led

from the start with Max

Vening holding onto 2nd

ahead of Oliver Mooij and

Sebastian Chodyko. Mooij

got caught out at the far end, giving Chodyko a run at Vening for 2nd, getting ahead on lap 2 at turn 4 with a move up the inside. Chodyko then set after Ahmad-Hambling, getting onto the back of him at the end of lap 3 before having a half spin at the final corner, letting Ahmad-Hambling off the hook and giving 2nd place back to Vening. Mooij had recovered back up to 4th as Chodyko began to attack Vening once more and got back ahead with a lap remaining but time ran out for Chodyko as Ahmad-Hambling took the win ahead of Chodyko, Vening, Mooij and James Higgins.

Heat 3 Harvey McBrien led from

pole as the field filed into

turn 1 with William Egby a

kart length behind in 2nd and

Milo Pilford all over Egby’s rear bumper in 3rd. Pilford

went deep into Vale on lap

2 allowing Max

Oshaughnesy to slip through,

but Pilford got ahead as the

two met on their differing

wet lines with some contact

which was deemed as a

racing incident. Pilford was

onto the two leaders as

Egby got ahead of McBrien

and the three battled for the

lead. Egby and McBrien

were both awarded

penalties for contact with

each other, leaving Pilford

effectively in the lead of the

race despite being third on

track. Pilford grabbed 2nd

from McBrien into turn 2 on

the final lap and then took

the lead from Egby at turn 3

as the three of them got

very close together. Pilford

took the chequered flag

from McBrien, Egby,

Oshaughnesy and Brendan

Sathees.

Heat 4

After a false start, lap 1 saw

Alex Hamilton and Mikey

Gleeson fight it out for the

lead of the race leaving the

rest of the field behind.

Inkart Round 11 – 30th

November 2014

By Thomas McMurray

Finley Ahmad-Hambling was

running in 3rd and was

gradually closing the gap to

Gleeson in 2nd as Hamilton

seemed to have fended off

Gleeson and had pulled a

small gap at the front. The

final lap saw Hamilton with a

small lead over Gleeson with

Ted Rivett now in 3rd, just

ahead of Ahmad-Hambling.

Rivett was closing down on

those ahead of him quickly,

but time ran out as Hamilton

won ahead of Gleeson, Rivett,

Ahmad-Hambling and

Ambrose Witherspoon.

Heat 5

Brendan Sathees led into turn

1 with Oliver Tipping hot on his

heels. Tipping grabbed the

lead through turn 1 with

Kameron Khan moving from

5th to 2nd. Khan was soon on

Tipping’s rear bumper, challenging him for the lead

as Sebastian Chodyko joined

the leading pair to form a trio.

Chodyko was quickly passed

Khan and onto the back of

Tipping, before passing him

through the final corner on lap

2. Chodyko soon gapped the

chasing pack as Tipping held

off Khan, Zach Walters and

Josef Smillie. Tipping picked up

a penalty for contact as the

chequered flag was readied

for Chodyko. Smillie was back

ahead of Walters on the final

lap and took Khan for 3rd

through turn 6 as Walters got

hung out on the outside of the

corner. Chodyko won from

Tipping, Smillie, Khan and

Walters.

Heat 6

Dan Hudes lost out at the start

as Yaron Jarvis got the jump to

grab the lead into turn 1 with

Milo Pilford holding onto 2nd.

Pilford quickly began to

pressure Jarvis for the lead as

Ted Rivett made his way into

3rd to be just a kart length

behind the leading pair. The

red flag was brought out as a

precaution to deal with an

incident involving Matteo

Strathmann, with the race

getting back underway with a

full course yellow for a lap. The

green flag waved at the

start/finish line to resume

racing with Jarvis getting his

foot down to get a couple of

kart lengths over Pilford. Pilford

closed back up by turn 2 with

Rivett right behind him but as

the lap progressed the

leading pair got away from

Rivett as he was put under

pressure from Harvey McBrien.

Pilford pushed Jarvis all the

way to the chequered flag

but Jarvis held on to win from

Pilford, Rivett, Boudewijn Long

and Dan Hudes.

Heat 7

The field shot off into turn 1,

bunched together with

Ambrose Witherspoon and

Max Oshaughnesy emerging

out of Vale at the front of the

field. Camron Page was

running in 3rd with Maxwell

Brown and Sebastian

Chodyko climbing over his

rear bumper. Witherspoon was

holding off Oshaughnesy at

the front as Oshaughnesy

struggled to find a way past

with Thomas Wallace and

Alexander Dorricott joining

Page, Brown and Chodyko in

their fight for 3rd. Wallace

quickly made his way to the

head of the field with

Chodyko and Dorricott soon

working their way past Page

and Brown. Witherspoon

continued to absorb the

pressure being exerted on him

by Oshaughnesy with

Witherspoon taking the win

from Oshaughnesy. Wallace

came home in a lonely 3rd

ahead of Chodyko and

Dorricott in 4th and 5th

respectively.

Heat 8

Oliver Mooij led the field

through the first three corners

with Harvey McBrien following

with Harvey McBrien following

in his wheel tracks. Alex

Hamilton was into 3rd by the

time lap 1 was over, ahead of

Mikey Gleeson and Boudewijn

Long. McBrien was pushing to

find a way past Mooij, but

Mooij had the measure of him

in the early stages. McBrien

finally got past with a brave

move through Vale to get

ahead, only to lose it back to

Mooij a couple of corners

later. This was allowing

Hamilton to edge towards

them as the race approached

its conclusion. Hamilton made

it a three-way fight for the

lead as they started the final

lap with McBrien back ahead

of Mooij, but only just. A last

chance effort from Mooij

gave him a run into turn 6, but

McBrien held him and

Hamilton off to take the win

from Mooij, Hamilton, Gleeson

and Oliver Tipping.

Heat 9

Connor Brown was

immediately under immense

pressure from Kameron Khan,

Ben Graham, Yaron Jarvis and

Brendan Sathees on lap 1 as

they all completed the first lap

bumper-to-bumper. Brown

managed the pressure well

and got his head down to

start edging away as Khan

came under attack from

Graham and Jarvis, aiding in

Brown’s escape. There was some contact between Khan

and Graham with Khan letting

Graham through and Jarvis

trying to get a run on the pair

of them. Graham and Khan

broke away from Jarvis with

Graham pulling out a couple

of kart lengths over Khan.

Brown took the win ahead of

Graham, Khan, Jarvis and

Sathees.

Heat 10

Ben Graham got off from pole

quickly as the rest of the field

made their way through Vale.

Alexander Dorricott made

steady progress to take 2nd by

the end of lap 1 ahead of Ted

Rivett and Max Oshaughnesy.

Dorricott set after Graham, at

the front of the field as

Oshaughnesy worked his way

past Rivett with Thomas

Wallace pushing to try and

join them in the fight for 3rd.

The top 5 soon spread out as

Dorricott began to edge

towards Graham with the pair

of them starting the final lap

bumper-to-bumper. Dorricott

began to look for a way past,

but Graham wasn’t crumbling under the pressure, holding off

Dorricott to take the

chequered flag from Dorricott

by 0.286. Oshaughnesy took a

comfortable 3rd ahead of

Rivett and Wallace.

Heat 11

The field thundered down to

Vale in close formation and all

impressively emerged from

Vale still facing the right way

around. Robin Truswell led at

the end of lap 1 ahead of

William Egby and Kameron

Khan with Connor Brown,

Ambrose Witherspoon and

Oliver Mooij soon joining them.

Egby was keeping Khan,

Brown and Witherspoon at

bay as all three looked to try

and squeeze past with Truswell

continuing to edge away at

the front of the field. Brown

made the most of Egby’s defensive driving to get

ahead of Khan on lap 4 with

Brown next to try and break

Egby’s defence. Truswell held on to win heat 11, 1.092

seconds ahead of Egby with

Khan, Witherspoon and Brown

all right behind him. Khan

picked up a penalty for

contact on the final corner,

dropping him down the order.

Heat 12

Josef Smillie, Max Vening and

Alex Hamilton completed lap

1 at the head of the field with

Hamilton looking to get past

Vening. Vening’s defence allowed Max Bublik and the

rest of the pack to join in.

Contact was becoming an

issue with the rest of the field

with a handful of drivers being

warned at the start/finish line.

Hamilton took himself out of

contention with a spin at Vale

on the final lap as Smillie

continued to hold off Oliver

Mooij all of the way to the

chequered flag. Smillie took

the win from Mooij, Boudewijn

Long, Bublik and Milo Pilford.

D Final

Otis Smith and Max Bublik got

the D final underway with

Matteo Strathmann getting

alongside them on the run into

Vale. Bublik held on to take

the lead with Dan Hudes now

the man shadowing him in 2nd.

Smith was a few kart lengths

adrift in 3rd at the end of lap 1

with Strathmann on his rear

bumper. Hudes was looking

for a way past Bublik but

Bublik was keeping the race

under control despite having

Hudes breathing down his

neck. Smith was handling the

pressure from Strathmann and

Nico Antoniou well as the pair

lined up directly behind him as

Hudes continued to pressure

Bublik for the lead. Bublik did

not crack and held on to win

ahead of Hudes, Smith,

Antoniou and Tomas Orjuela

Cortes.

C Final

Thomas Wallace jumped

Kameron Khan at the start as

the field made their way

down to turn 1, with Khan

stuck onto the back of

Wallace by the time they

completed lap 1. Brendan

Sathees was sitting in 3rd

ahead of William Egby with

the four of them all in with a

chance of the win as they

completed lap 2 nose-to-tail.

Wallace began to edge away

as Sathees looked to get

ahead of Khan whilst at the

same time, keeping Egby at

bay. Egby snuck through to

take 3rd, giving Khan a couple

of kart lengths before Egby

got onto the back of Khan

and out-dragged him into turn

1. Wallace was continuing to

extend his lead as Egby, Khan

and Sathees continued to

fight over 2nd. Wallace took

the win ahead of Egby and

Sathees who beat Khan to the

line by half a tenth of a

second with James Higgins

completing the top 5.

B Final

Alex Hamilton led the field to

turn 1, but was jumped by Ted

Rivett and Milo Pilford as they

took 1st and 2nd respectively.

Rivett got his head down to

start edging away at the front

as Hamilton looked to make

up for losing positions at the

start. Hamilton got back into

2nd at turn 4 on lap 2 as Yaron

Jarvis and Zach Walters soon

joined them in the fight for 2nd

with Walters taking 4th from

Jarvis at turn 6. Rivett was

getting away at the front as

Hamilton struggled to shake

off a persistent Pilford with

Walters tucked up under

Pilford’s exhaust. Hamilton

finally began to edge away

from Pilford and Walters as the

race approached half

distance with a win and a

place in the A Final looking on

the cards for Rivett, but

Hamilton got his head down

and began to close the gap

as they started the final lap.

Rivett held on however, taking

the win just ahead of Hamilton

with Pilford, Walters and

Thomas Wallace completing

the top 5.

A Final

Sebastian Chodyko claimed

pole with some fine driving in

the heats with Ben Graham

lining up alongside him. With

Kameron Kahn struggling compared to his usual results, Alexander Dorricott looked set to take the 2014 Cadet title with a decent finish. Chodyko led the field as the race got underway and was chased by Graham, Dorricott and Max Oshaughnesy. Graham took over from Chodyko at the front on lap 2 with a move through Vale and proceeded to try and get away leaving Chodyko in a fight for 2nd with Dorricott and Oshaughnesy. Wanting to take the title with a win, Dorricott passed Chodyko through turns 3 and 4 for 2nd and set after Graham who was now comfortably out front. Connor Brown and Ted Rivett were chasing after Chodyko and Oshaughnesy to try and steal the last spot on the podium, forming up a group of 4 and letting Dorricott chase after Graham unchallenged. Try as he might, Dorricott did not appear to be catching Graham who was pacing himself well at the front with a mistake from Graham looking like Dorricott’s only

chance of challenging him.

Chodyko was not cracking in

the race for 3rd despite having

a gaggle of karts climbing

over his rear bumper for much

of the race. He eventually got

some breathing space when

they began to slow each

other down. Graham took the

chequered flag and with it the

final win of the 2014 season.

He closed the gap to Kahn in

the championship but had to

settle for 3rd, missing out on 2nd

by 7 points. Dorricott claimed

the 2014 Daytona Sandown

Park Inkart Cadet

Championship with his 2nd

place with Chodyko finishing

his year well with a podium in

3rd. Oshaughnesy and Brown

rounded out the top 5.

Once again, the Lights produced some close racing throughout the field with a number of drivers looking like they could take the last win of the 2014 season.

Heat 1

Dante Dhillon took the lead

from Marcus Smith as the

lights turned green with the

field slipping through turn 1

carefully. William Thomas had

moved up from 3rd to 2nd with

Finn Angell-Wells the next one

to challenge Smith for 3rd

when lap 1 was completed.

Dhillon was pulling a gap at

the front over Thomas who

was in turn, getting away

from 3rd placed man Angel-

Wells with Joe Booker just a

kart length behind him.

Dhillon took the chequered

flag to win comfortably

ahead of Thomas, Angell-

Wells, Booker and Smith.

Heat 2 Axel Slijepcevic led into turn 1

from pole and was closely

followed by the rest of the

pack through the first few

corners. As the field began to

fight with each other,

Slijepcevic made a break for

it as William Thomas made

quick progress from 7th into

2nd by the end of lap 2. Sam

Hampshire was running in 3rd,

just ahead of Oliver Reeves

as Slijepcevic continued to

pull away at the front,

increasing the gap between

himself and Thomas with

each passing lap. Thomas

was just out of range for

Hampshire as Hampshire kept

Thomas honest, but

Thomas honest, but Slijepcevic took a comfortable win ahead of Thomas and Hampshire with Henry Jarret and Reeves completing the top 5. Heat 3 Joshua Craft made a

blinding start, going from 4th

to 1st by the time the field

made their way out of turn

1. Sam Hampshire was into

2nd from 6th with an equally

good start and set after

Craft as Finn Angell-Wells

was running in 3rd before

losing it at turn 3 on lap 2.

Craft was keeping

Hampshire at a reasonable

distance to ensure he could

not come under attack from

Hampshire with Henry Jarrett

now running in 3rd. Bryn

Jones and Scott Van Breda

were fighting over 4th with

the pair lapping bumper-to-

bumper. Craft took an

unchallenged win from

Hampshire in a

comfortable 2nd. Jarret took

3rd ahead of Jones and Van

Breda. Heat 4 Bryn Jones took the lead at

the start as Axel Slijepcevic

moved into 2nd by the end

of lap 1. Slijepcevic was

pushing to catch Jones who

had built a decent sized

lead at the start with Dante

Dhillon looking like he was

closing in on the pair of

them. Sofia Orjuela Cortes

was sitting in 4th with Marcus

Smith climbing over the

back of her kart. Jones was

near enough matching

Slijepcevic for pace,

keeping himself just out of

reach for Slijepcevic with

Jones taking the win ahead

of Slijepcevic. Dhillon came

home in 3rd ahead of

Orjuela Cortes and Smith.

Heat 5

Joe Booker and Sofia

Orjuela Cortes headed into

Vale side-by-side with a fast

starting Finn Angell-Wells

getting the pair of them out

of Vale. Joshua Craft and

Sam Hampshire soon joined

Slijepcevic and Craft duel at the front

November 2014

By Thomas McMurray

Sam Hampshire soon joined

him at the front as the leaders

completed the first lap with

just 0.210 seconds between

Angell-Wells and Craft. Craft

hit the front on lap 3 with a

move into Vale as Hampshire

began to drop back slightly.

Craft edged away from

Angell-Wells as the race wore

on, causing the field to spread

out with the closet fight on

track being between Orjuela

Cortes and Booker. Craft won

ahead of Angell-Wells,

Hampshire, Adam Maxwell-

Timmins and Orjuela Cortes.

Heat 6

Oliver Reeves held off William

Thomas as the field filtered

through Vale with Dante

Dhillon joining them at the

front. Thomas hit the front with

a move at turn 4 and

proceeded to pull away from

the rest of the pack. Reeves

was keeping Dhillon at bay

and was backing him up into

the rest of the pack as Joe

Booker, Scott Van Breda and

Marcus Smith added to the

pressure. Dhillon eventually

broke free and set after

Thomas ahead of him, but

Thomas had a lead that was

only going to be overcome if

Thomas made a mistake. The

chequered flag was readied

and greeted Thomas who

won from Dhillon, Reeves,

Booker and Van Breda.

Heat 7

Joshua Craft appeared to lose

out to Sam Attard as the

green lights flicked on, but

Craft held on through Vale to

regain the lead. Axel

Slijepcevic worked his way

into 2nd on lap 1 as Craft

quickly built a lead over the

chasing pack. Slijepcevic had

Bryn Jones looking for a way

past, with Jones slipping

through on lap 2 with a lunge

at turn 6. Jones pulled a

couple of kart lengths over

Slijepcevic as Scott Van Breda

set his sights on Slijepcevic

set his sights on Slijepcevic

ahead of him. Craft

continued to extend his

advantage at the front

leaving Jones, Slijepcevic and

Van Breda to scrap for 2nd.

Craft won heat 7 ahead of

Jones, Slijepcevic, Van Breda

and Attard.

B Final

Oliver Reeves was chased by

the pack into Vale with Scott

Van Breda his nearest

challenger, starting as he did,

from 2nd. Van Breda got

ahead at the end of lap 1

ahead of Reeves and Joe

Booker with Henry Jarrett in 4th.

Reeves dropped down the

order with a half spin at turn 4

on lap 3, giving Van Breda a

comfortable lead as Booker

and Jarrett moved into 2nd

and 3rd respectively. Jarrett

jumped Booker in the closing

stages of the race as the field,

minus Van Breda, fought over

the runner-up spot with the

last lap seeing a lunge from

Booker on Jarrett, not quite

paying off. Van Breda took

the win by 11 seconds from

Jarrett, Booker, Smith and

Adam Maxwell-Timmins.

A Final

Axel Slijepcevic came into the

final round of the year with a

healthy points advantage with

William Thomas and Josh Craft

fighting over 2nd and 3rd.

Slijepcevic got away from the

front of the grid well, leading

Craft, Thomas, Dhillon,

Hampshire and Scott Van

Breda. Craft was up for a fight,

shadowing Slijepcevic in the

early stages as he looked to

pass him for the lead.

Slijepcevic didn’t seem bothered however, running his

own race as Dhillon,

Hampshire and Thomas closed

in. Hampshire tapped the

back of Dhillon through the

final corner at the half way

stage, losing him momentum

and giving Thomas a run on

him into Vale, but Hampshire

just held on. This gave Dhillon

a shot at passing Craft, which

he soon took, getting into 2nd

at the far end of the track.

Slijepcevic was left to make his

way to the finish line to cap off

his title winning year with

another win. Dhillon chased

him home finishing 2nd by 0.851

seconds with Craft a further

1.261 seconds behind. Thomas

came home in 4th and

claimed 2nd in the

championship with Hampshire

completing the race in 5th.

Cameron Rodger was looking to take the 2014 title in the best possible way – with a win – but Lewis Brailli looked like he might deny Rodger with some brilliant defensive driving in the final.

Heat 1

Kyle Jackson led off from

pole into turn 1, but George

Worledge and Silas Woolway

moved ahead through the

first sequence of corners to

take 1st and 2nd respectively.

Tauran Bellot Jr was into 3rd by

the time the lap was over as

Worledge began to pull

away from Woolway. Bellot Jr

moved into 2nd ahead of

Woolway at turn 4 a lap later

as Bellot Jr, Woolway, Lewis

Brailli, Jackson and George

Dixon all crossed the finish line

on lap 2, bumper-to-bumper.

Woolway got back ahead of

Bellot Jr a lap later with Brailli

adding to Bellot Jr’s pain as he moved into 3rd. All the

while, Worledge extended his

lead easily as the field

continued to slow each other

down. Worledge took the win

ahead of Woolway, Bellot Jr,

Dixon and Brailli.

Heat 2

George Worledge and

Tauran Bellot Jr led the field

into Vale at the start with

Worledge leading the field on

to the infield straight ahead

of Bellot Jr, Cameron Rodger,

Kyle Jackson and Silas

Woolway. Rodger took 2nd on

lap 2 and set after Worledge,

latching onto him at the end

of the lap in the fight for the

lead. Rodger took the lead

on lap 3 with a move up the

inside of Worledge at turn 4

as Bellot Jr was holding off

Jackson. Worledge wasn’t about to let Rodger get

away as he got back onto

Rodger’s rear bumper and reclaimed the lead at turn 4

on the final lap. Worledge

held on to take the win from

Rodger by just 0.114 seconds

with Bellot Jr, Jackson and

Woolway completing the

top 5. Heat 3 Lewis Brailli took the lead

through Vale, dropping

George Dixon down the

order. Silas Woolway was

quickly into 2nd ahead of

George Worledge, Dixon

and Cameron Rodger. Brailli

was getting away at the

front as the rest of the field

squabbled for position

making life very easy for

Brailli at the front. Rodger

worked his way to the front

of the group, dropping

Woolway to 3rd with Dixon

and Worledge climbing over

the back of his kart,

desperately trying to find a

way through. Rodger quickly

broke away from the rest of

the group, but could not

catch Brailli who took the

chequered flag to win heat

3. Rodger took 2nd ahead of

Worledge, Dixon and

Woolway.

Heat 4

Cameron Rodger held off

Lewis Brailli at the start with

Tauran Bellot Jr moving into

2nd at turn 4. This gave

Rodger some breathing

space and a chance to start

building a lead. Brailli got

back into 2nd at turn 2 on lap

2 with George Dixon briefly

following him past before

Bellot Jr got back ahead.

Brailli pulled a couple of kart

lengths as Bellot Jr and Dixon

continued to squabble for

3rd with Kyle Jackson getting

involved. Rodger continued

to pull away from the rest of

the field as the race wore

the field as the race wore on with Jackson and Bellot Jr getting caught up in a fight for 4th. Rodger took the win comfortably ahead of Brailli with Dixon, Jackson and Bellot Jr completing the top 5.

A Final Cameron Rodger and George Worledge were contending the 2014 title, but with Rodger’s lead in the championship, it would be a tall order for Worledge to take it away from him. The pair lined up on the front row for the final with Rodger ahead of Worledge, but Lewis Brailli got the jump on the pair of them, getting into the lead around Vale. Rodger was immediately onto the back of Brailli, pushing to get ahead with the two of them escaping the battle that was about to ensue between Worledge, Silas Woolway, Tauran Bellot Jr, Kyle Jackson and George Dixon. Woolway passed Worledge through turn 4 to take up 3rd with Bellot Jr soon nipping through as well. Rodger went for a move on Brailli through Vale, but caught a damp patch, leading to some contact. Rodger did the right thing and let Brailli back through with Rodger going back on the attack as soon as Brailli was through. Bellot Jr was tucked up behind Woolway as the group of 5 all went through turn 3 together with Bellot Jr giving Woolway just enough of a tap to push him wide and take the position. This was deemed as an advantage by contact and Bellot Jr unfortunately picked up a penalty. Bellot Jr broke free of the group as Worledge worked his way into 4th and set after the pair ahead of him. Rodger had been patient, looking for a way past Brailli and waited until the final lap to go around Brailli through Vale with the help of a bit of extra grip on the drying line. Rodger held it to the chequered flag to take the win, capping off his 2014 title

winning year in fine style. Brailli

had to settle for 2nd ahead of

Bellot Jr who would drop

down the order due to his

penalty. Worledge finished 4th

on track but joined Rodger

and Brailli on the podium with

Dixon completing the top 5.

It was going to be difficult for Ian Del-Pizzo’s closest rival, James Venning, to deny him the title especially as Del-Pizzo was in fine form, but Venning gave it his best shot anyway.

Heat 1 Tom Clark and Gary Hayman

headed the pack into Vale

with Ian Del-Pizzo hitting the

front by the time lap 1 was

completed. Clark was

running in 2nd ahead of Billy

Cowan and James Venning

as Del-Pizzo got his head

down and quickly put some

distance between himself

and those behind him. Clark

hit kart problems with the full

course yellow momentarily

being brought out to deal

with the incident. This moved

Cowan into 2nd, but this was

short lived as Venning got

ahead and began his pursuit

of Del-Pizzo. Matthew

Hayman had made steady

progress through the field to

move into 4th but had a tall

order to catch those ahead

of him. Del-Pizzo was

gradually extending his lead

over Venning as they

approached the end of the

race. Del-Pizzo took the win

ahead of Venning, Cowan,

Hayman and Tom Eastwood.

Heat 2

Ian Del-Pizzo and Jordan

Bowley got heat 2 underway

with the pair quickly

disappearing up the road to

have their own private battle.

James Venning and Matthew

Hayman were sat in 3rd and

4th respectively with Venning

looking to close the gap that

Del-Pizzo and Bowley had

pulled out. Bowley was

following in Del-Pizzo’s wheel

tracks, but Del-Pizzo was absorbing the pressure and was keeping Bowley a kart length behind him at all times, keeping him out of striking range. Del-Pizzo claimed his second win of the day, 0.340 clear of Bowley with Venning, Hayman and Tom Eastwood completing the top 5. Heat 3

James Venning completed

lap 1 ahead of Daniel

Holland and Tom Eastwood.

Venning quickly pulled out a

lead over Holland and

Eastwood as Billy Cowan

joined them in the fight for

2nd, allowing Venning to

comfortably extend his lead.

Cowan passed Eastwood for

3rd on lap 4, giving Holland a

momentary gap of a couple

of kart lengths before

Cowan got onto the back of

Holland and began to look

for a way past him for 2nd.

Venning was long gone by

that point and took

the chequered flag at the

end of the race ahead of

Holland, Cowan, Jack

Reeves and Matthew

Hayman with Cowan and

Reeves both picking up

penalties for contact.

A Final

James Venning lined up on

pole for the last grid of the

2014 season, but was

jumped by Ian Del-Pizzo by

the time the field reached

turn 2, with a move around

the outside from Del-Pizzo

giving him the inside line for

turn 3 and with it, the lead of

the race. Jordan Bowley

was sitting in 3rd with

Matthew Hayman and

Daniel Holland right behind

him as Del-Pizzo and

Venning checked out at the

front. Del-Pizzo began to

edge away from Venning

and towards the 2014 title as

the race progressed with the

nose-to-tail for much of the

race, they were not slowing

each other down, allowing

them to pull a gap on

stages of the race. Del-Pizzo

cruised home to take the

final win of the year and

with it, the 2014 Daytona

Light title. Venning came

home in 2nd ahead of

Hayman, Bowley and

The Senior Podium

With the season he has had, Ryan Harper could afford to relax in the final round with the championship near enough his barring any problems. Luke Charman was in competitive form throughout the heats and set after winning the final round.

Heat 1 Stephen Harding headed

Stephen Wackrill as the field

headed down to Vale with

Harding holding onto the

lead ahead of Chris Wilkinson.

Ryan Harper had moved into

3rd ahead of Ben

Benneyworth with 3rd

becoming 2nd as Harper got

past Chris Wilkinson at the

final corner and chased after

Harding. Benneyworth was

next to get ahead of

Wilkinson and soon caught

up with Harding and Harper

with Luke Charman making it

a four-way fight at the front.

Harper hit the front on lap 4

but lost out to Harding who

regained the lead a lap later

at the far end of the circuit.

Harper resumed his attack on

Harding in the fight for the

lead with a late lunge into 4th

not quite paying off. Harper

got a run out of the final

corner to get ahead of

Harding into Vale with the

pair of them being passed by

Charman. Contact between

Harper and Harding dropped

the pair of them down the

order with Charman winning

from Benneyworth, Arnold

Macauley, Chris Wilkinson

and Ciaran Bodenham.

Heat 2

Will England led from pole on

lap 1 and pulled out a small

gap over Ross Petev and Donald Macauley with Macauley getting ahead of Petev on lap 2 at turn 4. Luke Charman was up to 4th and was bearing down on Petev before passing him up the inside of turn 4. England, Macauley and Charman formed up to create a three-way scrap for the lead with Charman passing Macauley through the final two corners. Charman hit the front a lap later with 2 laps remaining and proceeded to get away as Ryan Harper continued his march through the field to take up 4th. The chequered flag was readied and greeted Charman who took the win ahead of England, Macauley, Harper and Ciaran Bodenham. Heat 3 Ryan Harper hung on

around the outside of Vale

at the start to take the lead

from Arnold Macauley and

Luigi Cappuccio. Macauley

regained the lead on lap 2

with a move up the inside of

Harper at turn 4 with

Cappuccio closing up to the

back of them. Harper was

back on Macauley looking

to regain the lead as they

started to leave Cappuccio

behind as Jake Taylor held

off Ciaran Bodenham,

Stephen Harding and Ben

Benneyworth. Macauley

dealt with the pressure

Harper exerted on him and

took the win from Harper,

Cappuccio, Bodenham and

Harding.

A Final

Arnold Macauley and Luke

Charman headed the field

into turn 1 under the flood

lights with Charman taking

the advantage through turn

2 to lead the race. Charman

quickly put some distance

between himself and

Macauley who had Ciaran

hot on his heels with Harper

quickly working his way

through to 2nd. Donald

Macauley had been making

steady progress through the

field to join Harper and Arnold

Macauley as they began to

drop Bodenham into the

clutches of Jake Taylor.

Charman continued to pull

away at the front as Harper

began to gap Arnold and

Donald Macauley behind him.

Harper brought his kart into

the pitlane, knowing that he

had already done enough to

wrap up the title leaving

Charman well out front and

Arnold and Donald to fight

over 2nd. Charman claimed

the final win of the 2014

season ahead of Donald

Macauley, Arnold Macauley,

Chris Wilkinson and Taylor.
