Gunshot Detection: Capture the shooter on camera with instant PTZ positioning

As a crime fighting professional, you know the immense value of video security. It not only gathers essential evidence to help solve crimes, it also enables the anticipation of certain security issues, before they become a problem. But even with a large number of cameras, you are not always guaranteed to capture a good view of the perpetrator if they move out of the line of sight of the camera. Unitil now. Bosch moving cameras, including those with starlight technology for low light conditions, thermal solutions for limited visibility and built in Video Analytics while moving, can instantly zoom in on the precise location of the shooter once a gunshot is detected.

Think about it: whenever a gun is fired, the nearest PTZ camera turns itself to the exact location, capturing the shooter and surroundings in full HD detail. The result? An instant alarm to initiate responsive action, as well as priceless and detailed forensic evidence.

This is how it worksA shot is fired in a metropolitan area. Within less than one second of the shooter pulling the trigger, microphones pick it up, a camera zeros in on the situation and authorities instantly have an idea of

who and what they‘re dealing with. The gunshot is detected by The Security Oracle’s GDS.ai™ Gunshot Detection System, which recognizes gunshots and provides actionable data. At split-second speeds, this data can drive multiple Bosch PTZ cameras simultaneously to the location the shot has been fired from. This empowers responding personnel to act more decisively by assessing the situation and take immediate action while minimizing risk.

► Intelligent DefogIn a fog environment, you should be able to capture relevant images. Bosch cameras identify the darkest and lightest parts of the image, which in foggy conditions are different shades of gray. They then set the darkest gray to black and the lightest gray to white, to greatly increase contrast. They also adjust each of the RGB colors to improve color saturation and overall image quality.

► Image Stabilization Heavy vehicles or a passing train can cause vibration and make the camera shake. The Image Stabilization algorithm detects continuous vibration and dynamically corrects the shaky video in both vertical and horizontal axes. The result is a stable image on the monitor – with no reduction in camera sensitivity.

► Intelligent Tracking Gunshots and other events can trigger the Intelligent Tracking functionality to follow a target. In an uncrowded scene, the shooter can be tracked automatically.

► Intelligent Video Analtyics What if something happens in a scene that your system was not set up to detect? With our Intelligent Video Analytics forensic search, you can go back and search for specific events. For example, you can search to detect a ‘left object’ or a color detail in the archived metadata, even if

the system was not originally configured to detect this event.
