INSARAG – International Teams’ RoleINSARAG – International Teams’ Role

• The mission of USAR Teams is ideally to handle the more “difficult” rescues, meaning those victims that can not be easily accessed.

• These actions require specially trained and equipped rescuers, used to operating safely and effectively in highly technical and dangerous rescues.

1 Inform the INSARAG Secretariat (OCHA/FCSS) in Geneva (through the Virtual OSOCC)

2 Contact the Reception Centre on arrival in disaster-affected country (established by UNDAC)
