CONGRATULATIONS,
PARENT AMBASSADORS! On April 9, 2019, WOCAP had two parents graduate from the OHSAI Parent Ambassador Program. The Parent Ambassador Program is sponsored by the Ohio Head Start Association and is a Leadership Program that takes parents on a year-long journey to become advocates and leaders for their programs and commu-nities. One of the highlights of this program is that the parents get to travel to Washington, DC in January and advocate on Capitol Hill with their Representatives in Congress and the Senate. Please help me in congratulating Alecia Murray and Heather Heffner on representing WOCAP in this awesome program. We wish them both the best of luck in their new adventures.

We are lucky to have such creative staff here at WOCAP! Each year our
Bulletin Boards are updated for all staff and guests to enjoy. We appreciate
all the time and effort our Home-Based Teacher Jen Smith puts into making
our boards, along with help from her fellow co-workers!
We would like to congratulate Theresa Roop on her retirement this
month. WOCAP is thankful for her 24 years here with our agency. We
wish her the best of luck and hope she enjoys her retirement!

“There Are No Bears In The Bakery”
No one gets past Muffin and into The Little Bear Bakery. No one. Except, maybe, perhaps on occasion, a bear. Just a little one. Who might be a little hungry. Or maybe a lot hungry. Now Muffin has a problem. But Muffin also has donuts. Which, as we all know, bears like an awful lot.
“When Sadness Is At Your Door”
Kids often struggle to understand and cope with their
emotions, especially the hard ones like anger and sad-
ness. Talking about our feelings helps us process them,
and this book gives parents a tender and comforting
way to work through sadness with their kids.
Sweet Summer Treats for the Kids
Add chocolate to various fruits for a
healthy & tasty Summer treat
Chocolate Blueberry Clusters
Cuties half dipped in Chocolate
Kiwi Chocolate Pops
Another take on Ice Cream this Summer
Chocolate Peanut Butter “Nice” Cream
4 bananas, peeled, sliced, and frozen
1/4 cup almond, soy, or coconut milk
1/2 cup peanut butter (creamy or crunchy, unsweetened)
pinch of sea salt
1/4 cup mini dairy-free chocolate chips
1. Place the frozen banana slices and milk in the bowl of a food processor. Blend and pulse until just smooth, stopping to scrape down the sides with a rubber spatula occasionally. Don't over-blend.
2. Add the peanut butter & a pinch of salt and pulse to combine. Stir in chocolate chips.
Enjoy immediately as soft serve or transfer to a freezer container for later

Excellent Attendance
Our goal is to prepare your child for their next stepping stone of education whether it is Head Start or Kindergarten. Regular Attendance is an important part of your child’s educational, social, and emotional development. When children are absent from school they are missing out on a lot of educational and so-cial opportunities. We would like to thank those parents who assure their child is attending school every day. In the month of May we had 198 children with Perfect Attendance. Way to Go Parents!!!!
