VOLUNTEER TO BE ON A COMMITTEE

AUDIT & FINANCE COMMITTEE The purpose of the Audit and Finance Committee is to review and audit the financial operations of the Homeowner Association of Cottonwood Palo Verde at Sun Lakes and to perform other tasks as required by the Board of Directors.

A&F is an advisory committee established to assist the Board in its oversight responsibilities concerning audit, compliance and the implementation of the financial reporting systems.

A&F is composed of seven members. We review the monthly financial statement, provide financial forecasts to the Board and Management and conduct special studies and audits at the request of the Board. Our committee meets on the first Thursday of each month at 3:00 PM in the Phoenix Room unless otherwise posted. Join us.

FACILITIES & GROUNDS The Facilities & Grounds Committee meets monthly to assist the Board and CWPV Management with projects brought forth by the Board/Management Long Range Planning Team (B/M LRPT), Board of Directors, other Standing committees and homeowners.

The Facilities & Grounds Committee is a standing committee consisting of seven (7) members. Meetings are normally held on the first Tuesday of each month at 10:00AM in the Phoenix Room. We seek your involvement in the future of your community. Please fill out an application at the Administration Office and become part of the future of Cottonwood Palo Verde at Sun Lakes.

RECREATION/ENTERTAINMENT COMMITTEE When you live in Cottonwood Palo Verde, the health and vitality of the community can be attributed to the variety of activities and amenities available to you. It is the responsibility of the Recreation/Entertainment Committee to be the eyes, ears and voice of the residents to make recommendations to the Board and/or Management concerning a variety of topics relating to our recreational activities and amenities.

The Recreation/Entertainment Committee Charter states the Committee: recommend procedures for the use and reservations of all recreational facilities and activity rooms; recommend procedures for monitoring of recreational facilities to ensure they are used primarily for Association members; propose changes to the recreational facilities and maintenance on an as needed basis; recommend specific rules for use of the facilities in the balanced best interest of the Association membership; conduct regular reviews of all recreational facilities to ensure they are being used for the best interest of the membership and Association; assist the Recreation Manager in coordinating some selected special events, concerts, etc. requiring additional planning and execution.

Serving on the Recreation/Entertainment Committee is a great way to give back to the community and to have a voice in how to maintain our communities' quality of life. The Committee meets the first Monday of each month at 1:30 pm in the Phoenix Room. Applications can be found on our website, or at Homeowner Services.

SAFETY, SECURITY & ACCESS COMMITTEE (SSAC) The SSAC’s purpose is to serve as the eyes and ears of the residents by defining safety and security concerns and providing recommendations to Management and the Board of Directors. We strive to reflect the residents' wants and needs in community safety and security for Cottonwood and Palo Verde.

SAFETY REMINDERS As we finish our beautiful spring weather and move into the hotter month of summer there are a few reminders to keep in mind for the safety and enjoyment of our summer residents. Five Lakes - Please remember to be courteous as you enjoy our beautiful lakes.

The paths are walking paths for those who walk for exercise or to walk their dogs.

Golf carts and bicycles must yield to walkers. Most of us are seniors and many cannot move fast enough to get out of the way of moving golf carts/bicycles.

Golf carts must slow down. If you want to go faster please use the streets.

Please do not walk dogs along the fence lines. Walk on the paths or closer to the lakes.

Clean up after your dog(s) unless you have taught them to clean up after themselves.

All dogs and cats must be on a leash at all times, with you on the other end of the leash. Speed Limit – 25 miles an hour

Our speed limit and streets are enforced by the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office (MCSO). Several residents/guests have been observed driving much too fast. It is only a matter of time until those who drive too fast will have an accident and injure people, animals, or property. Please SLOW DOWN!

Let’s have a safe and happy summer with all we have had to deal with throughout the spring. Be safe, courteous and be sure to share a smile – it is catching!

PALM TREE TRIMMING TIME Palms are typically trimmed in June. The reason we do palms this time of year is because the seed pods grow out and are messy and unsightly. Having your tree trimmed after the seed pods emerge ensures that you get a full year to enjoy a properly trimmed, clean tree. The Compliance Officer will start checking homeowner palm trees starting in July.
